You will be In Hellesylt/Geiranger August 15

Arrival in Geiranger 07:00 - Departure from Geiranger 14:00 and arrival in Hellesylt 15:30, Departure from Hellesylt is 17:00.

    - you either need to be back in Geiranger for the 14:00 departure or in Hellesylt for the 17:00 departure.

Thank You!! I didn't realize my answer was in the table you had already posted!!

This thread has been SO helpful!!

  2. I have tried multiple times to access the online check in for our cruise and have not been successful yet!!

Is everyone else having this issue? We still have 2 months before we leave. Am I trying too early? The CS

agent said it should be available.

  3. Please forgive me but this will be our first adventure to Europe so we are

    total novices!

Is it necessary to exchange currency into NOK while traveling in Norway or do they accept

    Euro as well?

Are there any legitimate online Currency Exchanges?

    Thanks so much!

  4. Hello all!!

Please forgive me if this subject has been discussed but I was unable to find anything!

My question is: We are planning to take the train from Hamburg to Amsterdam after our

    August 2019 cruise.

    1. Which online sites have you used for purchasing ticket in advance?

    2. Have you had any problems with the tickets purchased online when you get to the train station?

Also, is an 18 minute transfer time in Osnabrück, Germany

    enough?

    Thanks in Advance!!

  5. I have looked for something current on this subject but cannot find anything.

Is the dress code for formal night enforced? We have read that men are required to, at least,

wear a sport coat. We are doing a 14 day cruise from Hamburg in August & would like to

eliminate as much packing as we can. This is our 1st MSC cruise.

    Thanks for any input!!

Look in the personalizer/sign in under your booking.

Go to onboard reservations then to beverage packages and scroll to the bottom-bottled water package.

If it is available on your cruise it should be there.

It gets charged right away to your credit card and a receipt will be emailed to you.

You can also cancel it up to a certain time before the cruise.

Can only be ordered pre cruise and not available once onboard.

It will be in your cabin upon arrival.

I have seen comments that some Australian cruises it was not available.

It must not be available on our either because there is no option for a water package to be ordered online. 😞

No but you can pre-order cases of 12 - 500ml bottles of water delivered to your cabin for $6.90.  You may order as many cases as you desire.  We order enough for every port day for each of us as it is easier than carrying a water bottle.  They usually put one case in our cabin along with vouchers for other cases ordered.  We call room service to bring the other case(s) as needed.

How do you order this? I have looked all over the website & have been unable to find any way of ordering online. Do you have to call to order?

    TIA!

  8. I am so glad to read something positive!! We will be doing our 1st MSC cruise on Preziosa in August & it's getting a little discouraging to read all the negativity!! We are long time Carnival Cruisers & wanted to try MSC due to the itinerary & Loyalty match. Hopefully, we will have a positive experience, as well!! We are going with an open mind!! Can't wait for this new experience!!

  9. Thinking about booking one of the forward balcony cabins with the rear facing large balconies. Looking at the deck plan, the are all close to elevator lobbies. Does anyone have experience with these? Do you hear a lot of noise from the elevator areas?

    TIA!!

  10. CorTrans, Cocoa Beach Shuttle and Travelynx are suggested regularly on this board; no one bats 1000, but any of the three should be able to get you from MCO to your PC area hotel for about $20+

As mentioned above, one-way car rentals are popular and allow you the flexibility to stay, dine and shop where you want the evening before your cruise.

You are being a smart cruiser and flying in at least one day early, correct?

We always do!! Not taking the chance of missing our ship!!

  11. It is a small local company (which is always good to support)!

However, while others can comment on this company, I am wondering how/why you picked them vs. the larger better known ones used by most on this forum?

If you are looking for lowest fares then I can point you to rates of $15 per person one way from MCO with a known company.

If you are looking for dependability then there are at least 3 widely-used companies in the $20-25 per person range.

If you are looking for comfort then I can recommend decently priced limo/town cars from another popular local company.

And then there are car-rentals - often as cheap as $60 or so one way!

It was one that was recommended on the MCO website...just thought I would see what they would charge & see what past customers thought about them!

Any recommendations you have would be appreciated!! Thanks!

  12. For those that have taken to Amtrak to Vancouver: We are booked on the 7:45am train...How early do you suggest getting to the train station prior to departure?

    TIA

  13. Hello!!

We are trying to decide between either cruising from LA in October or January. Are the seas usually rough crossing in the Pacific at this time. I know it can be different from year to year but i just want to know what you guys have experienced.

    Thanks!!

  14. The difference is one is a steam train and the other is a diesel train.

Having said that, I would look at Chilkoot Charters. It's the exact same excusion, a lot cheaper, and you get a train car with only Chilkoot Charter passengers.

This and TAF Explorer excursions were the highlight of my trip last year.

It's nice with Chilkoot too because they use smaller busses and can stop many more places. It seemed very personal as well and easy to ask the driver anything.

It was $185 for the 7/8 hour excursion.

We did this excursion 3 years ago & it was great!! We were in the last car on the train & you were able to go out the back of the train & stand on the back porch as the train went up the mountains!! So beautiful!!
