Had anyone taken the ferry on a non-Carnival sponsored excursion? I realize about the risk of being left behind but i would like to know about your personal experience.

Hey you guys! So we are sailing on the Feburary 15 cruise ln the Freedom. Does anyone know if they offer any spa packages like the Magic Cloud 9? My daughter usually pays 149.00. :)

Funny question I know considering its a "Fun Ship" but I wonder if one can find enough solitude to just sit on a top deck early or late in the day. Retreat to your cabin, do not disturb. Pray and just get away. I have been on several cruises but never actually thought about it while on board. :(

Visiting Costa in Feb on the Freedom. We love the easiness of Cozumel. Is Costa Maya the same? We feel very safe in Coz and never feel the need to buy an excursion. We have more fun just getting a cab into town and hanging out. Anyone?

Go to the spa for the huge showers. Cabin showers are very narrow and I'm grossed out because the curtain will stick to you. My shower at home is very Wide. The spa showers are free.

So it appears that on our trip next week to Roatan, Belize and Cozumel, we will have run out of new ports to explore. It appears that sailing out of Nawlins go to the same places as out of Galveston. In order to see new ports we would have to fly out to lets say Florida. We would be like paying for another cruise with all the added expenses. Am I right? I never did get to see Calica because Carnival quit going and never seen Costa Maya either.:(

Just hoping they add new ports otherwise we keep going over again to the same places. Anyone else?:(

No, not making us feel bad. We told her that we would pay for a trip for her and a friend for her 20th birthday. I guess its just me :( having trouble cutting the strings.

I'm feeling very anxious over leaving our daughter behind. She is 19 for crying out loud! But we have always cruised together and the hubbs and I are having our 20th wedding anniversary cruise. She is old enough I know. Our church family will keep an eye on her. We will buy the internet package to facetime or skype with her daily. Even so, the mama in me is really feeling it. Has anyone gone thru this? Am I the only one? :( We leave on the Magic on Jan 19th.

Not sure if i can make sense of this but for example, Cozumel: easy on your own. Montego Bay Jamaica: Not good on your own.

Hello Everybody, I'm searching for things to do for these 2 locations. I tried looking on the Ports of call forums but it seems that responses are slow in coming. I really like Cozumel because you can get off the ship, shop around get something to eat and get back on. Does anyone know if these 2 ports are set up like this? I also liked Montego Bay bay because they have that Hop On/Hop Off option. We do not really do snorkling, ziplining and stuff like that. Any ideas?

I still have some in the freezer from 3 cruises ago. I did use some wrappers to decorate my scrapbook but that's about it. I have been meaning to sneak them into cakes or muffins and always forget :eek:

klfrodo, step off! if you are impatient with my questions just move along. I'm familiar with the Internet packages as I just used it on the Magic. I suppose I was requesting a review and guidance on how its used either at sea or in ports. Everyone else who responded, thank you.

I still can't decide if I am more impressed with the Magic or this review!! Wow! Very organized, beautifully formatted, lovely pictures, well written etc etc...geez I'd like to hire you!! Can't wait to be on the Magic in Jan.

I always bring my Monster Java 20oz coffee. I limit myself to 1 per day, never had a problem.

We put money aside from each paycheck to fund vacations. When it's time to pay, we put the charge on our credit card (for the insurance and the points) and then use the cash from our vacation savings to pay off the CC.

I usually like to use a debit to my account when paying the down payment, then again for the final payment. Problem is major budgeting to have that money in the account when those payments come around. Do you use a credit card? How long does it usually take to pay it down? I thinking I don't know if I want to still be paying for a vacation a year out and interest on top of that. My final payment for my next cruise is not till November and 700 bucks will be sucked out. I've got time, but hopefully nothing major happens tween now and then.

You can find the vanilla beans but only at specialty stores, not your regular "Mercado" I order on ebay with several friends and we split the beans and cost. We make creamers, vanilla sugars, extract etc... I will definetly ask when I get to Cozumel, try that store next to Panchos Backyard, can't remember the name right now.
