I am in the exact same situation as my cruise ends in Dubai and my klm flights are the next day at 2 am. I will follow this hoping someone recommends a good tour company

We have decided to book a hotel room and use it as a base for exploring on our own and taking the HOHO bus. We can get a little sleep before we go to the airport and have a place to leave our bags.

  2. Our cruise ends in Dubai and our United flight leaves at 2:15 am the next day.  Does anyone have any experience with booking a tour that starts at the ship and ends at the airport?

Currently aboard Azamara Quest, tied up for the second day of two in the port Safaga, Eygpt, on the Red Sea.  Captain Johannes Tysee and his people are doing a marvelous job of keeping us happy, well-fed, and active (if we choose).  The staff are the friendliest people, as they have been in the past.  Food is very good, complimentary wines are modest but very drinkable Australian and NZ blends.  There are about 680 persons on board, the majority being Australian, then US, then UK, then NZ and Canada.  The Patio is open for almost all meals, very enjoyable in this latitude.  Entertainment is by the Signature Singers & Dancers, augmented by specialists who rotate on and off at each port, providing diversity.  This 23-day cruise started in Singpore, then Sri Lanka, India, Egypt today, followed by Jordan, Israel, Crete, and disembarking in Athens.  We're having a fine time but have probably gained weight.

Thanks 😊 We will be getting on as you leave!

Have just been a little assertive! Result was that we were told to try just turning up at, say, 7 and see if we can be fitted in. There may be either cancellations or no shows or even just vacant tables. We're going to have a go at that.

Meanwhile, the menu in Discoveries looks good tonight and we'll ask to share a table again. We met a nice young American couple that way last night.

We have shown up early for an 8:30 and been seated immediately at a nice table.

Calling Azamara - I called this morning (Thursday) at 8:19 and got right through.  I didn't wait even a minute.  The staff member was great.

That was 8:19 am mountain time

Just off Pursuit with several comments on expectations. Number one is that Patio remains closed in the evening with no explanation given. Number two is that Premium beverage package listed is dated with less than one-half of the beers available and it seems intent to finish off their inventory before replenishing their inventory which means staff may have to scramble for your beer. Number three is that greater guest interaction, less mask wearing and more overall positive vibes on the ship versus the last two Azamara cruises in October and November on Journey.

I asked the hotel director on Quest and he said the chef is too short staffed to have the Patio open at night. We love the patio, too, but when we have been on Azamara it is often not busy in the evening. I hope it will open when they get back to full capacity.

I hope they would open Patio for dinner. It was one of my favorite places to enjoy a nice dinner on an open seating.

It’s our favorite, too. They probably need to get closer to being fully booked to have enough staff to have it open.

  8. On other cruise lines, you can print out a list or create a pdf with a list of the shore excursions available on your cruise.  I can't find any place to do that on Disney.  Any help?  I did search this forum and couldn't find an answer.  Thank you.

Has anyone done shore exc in St Thomas, St Marten or Barbados in the past few weeks, was wondering if they pick up right at the ship or if you have to walk the horrid long way to the terminal area? I might need to bring my walking sticks if so.

We are in St Maarten today.  We didn't take an excursion, but we got a taxi into town right at the gangplank.

Yes - but other than a few fish under the pier you will not see anything.  You can walk down the beach from the Boatyard and snorkel out to the shipwreck, but that's a LONG swim.  Pre-Virus the Boatyard used to include a boat trip out to swim with the turtles and snorkel the wreck - hopefully that continues.

Thank you.  That helps me plan.  I like to snorkel especially from the beach, but I"m not a great swimmer.  I'll check on the trip.  I think their website still shows it, but who knows what the reality is.
