  1. I booked Apex for next year and was told by telephone with Celebrity if I went for set late dining I could go where I liked at that time.

I felt that this would be chaos so decided to change to anytime dining and reserve the restaurants of our choice.

  2. We were on the same sailing but on fixed late dining no problems with waiting for table or service both were excellent the food was not cold where we were sat, there was a queue on the first night but once we knew table location if we went just after 8.30 straight in.

Bars were busy but we are not big drinkers and mainly had drinks at dinner table, no problem with table service for drinks in main dining.

Wi-Fi was dreadful. Could not send or receive pictures only basic texts or emails.I did go to I lounge but did not upgrade as we could use inclusive data on phones whilst in port so did not bother.

It was our 6th cruise with celebrity and though the food was good, not as good as pre covid. A few items on menu not actually as described e.g. Pasta with  scampishrimp only

had 3 prawns no scampi, cod and clams, no clams. Roast potatoes was one single potato and hassleback potatoes were roast potatoes. We often asked for extra potatoes which we received no problem,we prefer table service to the buffet but lunch in the buffet was good with plenty of choice.

Sushi on 5 was excellent. We were not impressed with the Crown grill on Princess. The only speciality restaurants we visited on the last two cruises.

Overall we found Celebrity to be slightly better than Princess with regards to food both in buffet and main dining.

    Both ships were equally crowded.

The medallion app on Princess was far superior as was the internet.

Both comparison are on post covid cruises, not disagreeing with op but wanted to show our point of view as well particularly with regards to main dining room.

  3. We have visited Camara do lobos on a few occasions once we walked there and then the restaurant called us a taxi to return to Funchal I do not recall seeing a rank.

The other occasions we were on the hogo bus.

If the time scale allows this year we took a tour with Madeira happy tours who I can thoroughly recommend, we were in a mini bus just 6 of us and it was reasonable prices wise and a fantastic day out.

You may not get that long there but tbh if not having lunch there you do not need that long as it is fairly small.

  4. We went on a cruise last year with Unforgettable Croatia, and can recommend. We were on a signature cruise and had a fantastic time.  Breakfast & lunch on board, there was always bread and salad before the main course and dessert. You could help yourself to tea and coffee and various biscuits whenever you wanted and there was a water cooler to refill water bottle. We had two evening meals on our trip.

We were picked up at Split airport in a very nice vehicle and taken to the hotel we had booked for a couple of nights (I booked direct with hotel and did not use the hotels offered), we were collected from the hotel on the day of cruise departure and taken direct to the ship and then at the end of the cruise taken to our apartment in Cavtat (booked apartment myself as well) all the transfers were included.

I booked this cruise for 2020, changed to 2021 and then finally changed to  2022 all this was done without any problems so even though they are agents as such the service in our experience was very good. The crew also wore Unforgettable Croatia shirts and other things such as drink bottles were embossed with the company name so it appeared they had chartered the boat.

We had jet ski rides, paddle boards and a selection of flotation aids on board.

We had a mixture of nationalities but all English speaking, American, Canadian and British.  The boat was very comfortable we had a small balcony and plenty of room in the cabin similar to a normal cabin on a cruise ship. We also stopped for a swim stop before lunch and then each afternoon we were in a different Port, there were organised tours included  in most places but we did not always attend them choosing to wander ourselves.  The national park was a coach ride away as was the oyster farm both were excellent trips. Our cruise director was Croatian very interesting and we learnt a lot about Croatia.

I received an email from the OM group about missing reservations in Dine My Way.  Here is the reply: E6B950AF-CD30-4E20-8354-5B11279344A9.thumb.jpeg.15fcf6d789c6c7aedc06bd931748706c.jpeg

We go this shortly and although I could book the Crown grill nothing else works it does show but when I try to book anything I get a red exclamation mark and error message.  As it is a last minute booking we have not been able to book anything for the main dining either, this is possibly the reason why.

  6. Another nod for Malaga we were in Malaga earlier in the year for the carnival ,we have been to the Costa del Sol before but this is the first time staying in Malaga we loved the city so much so we are returning next year. We have been to Mijas and Marbella, whilst Mijas was pretty, would not rate Marbella,Puerto Banus and unless taking the journey to the Alhambra would stick with the city of Malaga more than enough places to see.

  7. When we cruised the year before last, no bag in concierge I even asked at guest services and was told that only suite guests receive them now. I queried the reply and said lots of people seem to have the bags and she replied they must have bought them in the shop! This year we were in Aqua and received a flimsy type beach bag and the heavy canvas bag.

  8. It is very easy to get to the square where the little tourist train leaves. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here as we had previously holidayed in Taormina so decided to make this an easy day and just have a wander. We walked to the square and took the tourist train round town, back for a drink in the square and then watched the clock display. The hop on hop off bus was right next to where we got on the train and the horse and carriages were even closer to where we docked, there were also lots of taxi drivers offering trips. We were there in July and no problems getting on the train and the hop on hop of bus looked fairly empty.

  9. We have stayed in Portofino, Santa Margherita and Rapallo and can recommend all three. We did push the boat out and eat in the Splendido Mare (our anniversary) which was a little more expensive but the other places we have eaten in Portofino were not much different to anywhere else in the region in price. You can walk up to the view point in Portofino for lovely views, Santa Margherita is also a nice town to walk around as is Rapallo, you can walk between all three or catch the boat. A long walk if you were to go from Rapallo to Portofino though. One of the hi-lights in Rapallo was taking the cable car and eating at the restaurant at the top with stunning views. We have visited in October and on one occasion the sea was really rough we managed to get back to Rapallo but it was very choppy and they did suspend the boat services shortly afterwards, so there is a possibility the boats may not always run to schedule in October if the sea is rough.

  10. I used the app for deciding which nights we wanted to try specialty restaurants it was correct except it showed our chic night to be a different night, the week before we cruised I logged on to our sailing and it showed what acts would be on so we adjusted our meal time preference as there were two guest acts we fancied. When we arrived on the day I checked the app and there were completely different people showing these were the correct acts and not those shown the previous week although our correct sail date had been entered. It for me was accurate only once we had boarded.

  11. The couple on the next table appeared to do this, but when my husband asked on our next visit to Muranos they said "we can do you a fillet mignon", which my husband was happy with. So now not sure if the man did have the chateubriand on his own or a large fillet steak as we did not push the point. It is always worth asking.

  12. On Reflection we went to a presentation of the edge and then went straight to future cruises to see if we could book, the price we were quoted for 7 night med cruise was more than £6600.00 (cannot remember exact figure)for Aqua class, with flights, transfer etc the cruise would have come to at least £7000. A £1000 per night! We have booked a villa holiday for a quarter of the price.

  13. Since you are on a 14 day cruise, I would suggest trying the specialty restaurants at least twice. We have tried all them all. Murano and Tuscan were our favorites. Qsine’s menu is meant for sharing. Going with a group, I think is a must and a fun experience.

On Reflection Qsine is petite chef we did not fancy the menu, for me Murano's 1st, Lawn club 2nd we did go to Tuscan on our recent cruise but this was the 2nd time I have been disappointed so personally would not try again. We ended up with four meals in Murano.
