  1. I have tipped the concierge and butler as high as $500 each and as low as $100. Depended on how good they were. Some butlers go out of their way to bring you special stuff based on what you tell them you like. And some concierge show up in your cabin daily to ask if they can escort you dinner. Some are hiding and you can't find them! Definitely a matter of service level

  2. You should each print a copy of the boarding information with the barcode. Also, the person that checks you in might request that the first person apply their credit card to the entire account for on board purchases, so if you don't want to do that, make sure the second person verifies that the charges are being done properly and that they also swipe their credit card when they check in. But people do this all the time - not a problem at all if you both print the paperwork.

  3. I just got off the Epic. I was in a Haven Suite and spent almost every afternoon at Posh. The first day was crowded but not so much that I couldn't find a seat. The last day, there were no more than 12 people up there. Bartender was THE best on the ship. If I were not Haven, my first question would be "Where can I get a Posh pass?"

  4. I have not taken the shore excursion tour, but I have been there many times. I can't imagine getting off a boat, doing the tour and getting to a plane. It's a one-day place, but if you really want to see the cool stuff, you want to just GO on your own. There are special tours you can sign up for to see things not in the regular gig, and they are some of the best parts of the day. It's not a dawn to dusk place, but I think if you got there when it opened and wanted to do a special tour and see everything, you would need the whole day. The "Explore Tour" is similar to a tour I did once and it was very interesting. I think your best bet is to stay an extra day or go a day early if you really want to see KSC. You can purchase the extra tours in advance I believe. Ask what is included, as there are "free" bus tours as well, and sometimes the paid tours end at one of the remote locations covered in the free tours, so you don't need to do the free tour. It is an amazing place that makes you wish you had tried to be an astronaut.

  5. I believe the entertainment schedule has slightly changed in the past month, as I went to book based on what was posted in November and those days and times are not available in the spring - so if someone has new ones, I'd be interested in seeing them

  6. For the cruiser with questions about teenagers, my daughter is just over 13 and thoroughly enjoyed the teen area this past week. They go on scavenger hunts and have parties. She loved it. They end up grouping naturally by age when they play team games from what I saw wandering about the ship.

  7. We use a rollaway in the back bedroom one year. If you take out the chairs and small table, it will fit against the sliding door/glass that looks onto the deck. There is plenty of room in there to do that.

I think that technically you could put it in the closet, but it would be extremely tight.

And unless no one wants to use the living area until he gets up, the living room area is not a good choice. because it's one giant great room.

There is no half bath IN 14500.

  8. I have stayed in GV' in both the star and dawn. The coffee maker is a pod type maker with Lavazza coffee if I remember right.

Our family does love the GV. It is awesome. That being said, the prices have greatly increased for them in the past 5 years, and if I were the one paying, I would not do it at the current price point. My mother still loves it and would rather splurge than die with money in the bank. If you really really love to cruise and want luxury it is the best. But if you're just looking to relax, you can get a large suite at a luxury resort for much less and probably nicer rooms and better beds.

  9. Last year on Honduras we did possibly one of the coolest things I've ever done. We booked an excursion with the swim with the dolphin place on that island where you got to free snorkel with them. It was very neat - they all swam around in this lagoon area and they would just swim up and play with you. I had never snorkeled before and I loved it. Not sure how it would work with your younger ones but my daughter was 11 when we did it. They have a regular dolphin encounter thing as well if the parents want to split and do two different tours. I can't remember if I booked it through the cruiseline or directly.

  10. Allegiant is cheap - but it's not an hour to Canaveral. It's more like 3 hours, and during spring break, if there's an accident, it can take 4-5. I would not fly into there for Canaveral. Only Orlando, which is a very short drive on a toll road that is barely used, so you have the road to yourself. If you want to check an alternative airport, check out Daytona.

  11. There's a thing on the Verizon wireless website where you can check if your phone works in each country and what the rates are. You can call them before you go and they will walk you through everything you would ever need. They often drop the ship rates. Last year it was $1 a minute while we were on, which was WAY cheaper than the roaming rate, so check the card by your cabin phone.
