thanks. I was afraid of that. When I called the excursion desk today, she said that they didn't have anything yet for Sept. 24, but said it may cost $2-3,000 per person. Which I thought is crazy for 2 nights!!

I love this forum. I always get such great advice. I just booked today on the Best of Japan - 12 day on Millennium for 9/24/24. I noticed that they do offer a 2 night pre cruise city stay. I was wondering if anyone did a Celebrity stay in Tokyo? Was it worth it? About how much and does it include excursions and dinner? Any other information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

i found my answer - Celebrity ALWAYS pays in US dollars

thank you VERY much - so helpful.
We are also taking a transpacific cruise on Celebrity, leaving Sydney arriving in Honolulu. I am thinking that might be US dollars, but again I am not certain. Thanks

I am not a First time cruiser, but a first time cruiser off of Australia. We will be sailing on both the Carnival Splendor and the Celebrity Equinox, and of course we will be doing a little gambling in the slot machines. Does anyone know if they pay in US dollars or AU dollars? And then I guess you would play with the same dollars.
Thanks

We will be doing two cruises plus a week in Australia, and trying to figure out when to do laundry. I was wondering, do they have laundry services on the Splendor and does anyone know the price? What about self service laundry machines? Any special perks for suites? Thanks so much

thanks everyone for your suggestions. I really appreciate the suggestions. I am a first time writer on the boards. I have read them, some, but have never written. I have pretty much decided that I will definitely go INTO the coliseum. I will pass up the "Included" excursion. Thanks all for the idea of RomeCabs. I will look into them. When we thought we were going to go in 2020, the cruise we had chosen did not take you into Rome as it was the end of the first part, and others were boarding that day. So we had picked out a tour by Viator. It looked pretty good also. Has anyone used them? They were going to pick us up at the ship and get us into the sites.

I have been trying to get to Italy since 2001. This is my 4th try. The viking Ocean cruise around Italy has been cancelled twice so far. We are now scheduled to cruise on 9/16/2022. I was looking at the included excursion while in Rome - and it states that it is a 9 hour tour. It mentions the coliseum, but not sure if it is a "drive by", or do you actually go inside? But I also noticed that you can purchase an excursion that does go INTO the Coliseum.
Here are my questions.
1. Is it worth it to go INTO the Coliseum, or is it enough just to see it from the outside?
2. Has anyone taken the INCLUDED Rome excursion through Viking, and how was it?
3. Do the Viking excursions (both the included and the extra) include "skip the line"?
thank you very much. So looking forward to this cruise

That's a great idea. I did that when we went to Sydney, and it worked out great.
