  1. When I sail solo I take a backpack only for usually 7 night cruises. I pack undies, socks, extra pair of shoes, swimming trunks, 3 pairs of shorts, 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of dress pants, and a few shirts. Easily enough clothing. Now when my wife goes and we drive it's one large suitcase, 1 regular sized suitcase, 2 backpacks, and her somewhat large purse/bag.

  2. Ok. So I will be flying in the morning of the cruise (I know, I know) and will need a ride from EWR to the cruise port. After the cruise I will be heading to Brooklyn and then flying out of LGA the next day. Being frugal I am wondering what my most cost effective ways to travel to these locations is and how much that might be?
EWR to port I'm assuming Uber? Or are there buses? Estimate on cost? Guessing $20ish?
Port to Brooklyn I would assume again to take a Uber to the closest train station and then continue from there? Cost about the same $20ish for Uber and then a train pass? Stops or directions welcomed.
    Any input?
    Thanks in advance!
  3. My guess would be they are controlling inventory and getting ready to sail in about 2 months. Previously they have been accepting our money to stay afloat and then dragging their feet with our money as long as they can. It makes a lot of sense to deliberately hold up our funds as long as possible and I don't mind as long as it helps them survive through this.

Also for all of the 100 day CDC ppl...

Their recommendations mean nothing overall and doesn't mean they will be enforced.

  4. Me and my wife both prefer Carnival. We've done 10+ on Carnival, 5+ on Royal, and one cruise on the Norwegian Epic.

Norwegian definitely comes in a distant 3rd but all are fine. We feel Carnival has way better complimentary food options such as Guys Burgers, the Sandwich shop, Blue Iguana, Pizza, etc... Royal and Carnival are very similar in quality of the main dining room but I give Carnival the edge in buffet also. Chops is better on Royal than Carnivals steak house though.

The main show entertainment is better on Royal but the daytime "filler" entertainment and the comedy shows are better on Carnival.

Carnivals casino is more fun but they suck at comps. The reason we have been exclusive to Royal is they take care of their gamblers with comped cruises weekly if wanted but we miss Carnival. The Royal vibe will never be as good.

That being said you will enjoy Royal and no it will not "spoil" you so much to stay away from Carnival.

  5. In response to Lauderale it is just ok. If you want great beer in all styles go to J. Wakefield Brewing in the Wynwood area of Miami. There's a couple more breweries there, a great craft beer forward restaurant called Kush, and a good beer bar called Boxelder.

  6. Nothing funnier than watching these people walk up and buy in for $20 at a time but do it 10 times. You are losing right out of the gate and those people should be bullied if you are playing the game right. Everybody just can't limp in everytime with crap cards. You have to pay to see a flop against me. The above information is right but I thought the rake was capped at $10? Either way they are making a lot of $ when they can keep a full table running.

As for the rigged I lean towards the game is set up for action. Even with 60-70 hands per hour there shouldn't be so many monster hands. It always seems it's a big hand vs another big hand to build the pot. I've played on these tables for years and have seen some crazy stuff like 3 different straight flushes in one orbit. No way that's random.

  7. I have a slot pull organized on the Magic next week. We want to do a $3 max bet Wheel Of Fortune machine that we can have 40-50 people gather around. Does that exist? I have seen a picture of a WOF machine when you enter the casino out in the open but i was told that was a $10 max bet machine. I guess a $5 max could work as well.

  8. We leave from Port Canaveral Jan 27th. Booked and paid last April at that time no staggered times offered. Two weeks ago we get an email from Carnival to select a check in window. I could be wrong but I thing Port Canaveral just started staggered times. It was not an option when we booked. We got choose the 11:00 - 11:30 am slot.

I think you mean the 28th not unless you plan to leave without me.

  9. As long as you do not book under a early saver rate you can change the cruise to a different one 1 time with no fee's or charges.

For example last time I booked onboard I booked a 3 day cruise 2 years out and paid the lowest possible deposit ($100 pp I think). When I got home I called a couple of weeks later and changed it to a 6 day cruise about a year out. By doing that I got the OBC for a 6 day instead of the 3 day OBC.

Just remember you can only do this once with no fee's. After that you will be charged.

Also if you are a gambler and get free or discounted cruise offers sometimes then I would not recommend booking onboard since they say they do not offer those to people with cruises booked already.

  10. The only phone banned and ever mentioned is the Note 7. All other Samsung phones are completely fine and you should not have any issues.

I have flown 4 times in the last month or so and it has only mentioned the Note 7. I have the S7 Edge which is bigger than the S7 but no one has given it a second glance on a plane.

  11. We are staying in the same room in January, can't wait!!

That's funny as we are also staying in the same room in late January. Please keep it clean.

    :)

So not too much noise from above though? I sleep from like 4 am-8am on cruises but i don't see being bothered by noise either way. Also what is the normal cost? We got this room for $1503 total after taxes and fee's.
