Our last port was Cozumel. There were so many ships that the Carnival ship in the back was tendering passengers to the pier:
We went a Turtle Cove snorkel:

Long lines at the end of the day:
Sailing away from Limon:

After the boat ride, we took a train ride that went over these tracks:
From the train we saw these howler monkeys:

After a couple of hours, Freedom is ready to sail out of the third lock and into Gatun Lake:

This building looks like some kind of control center and is located in the middle of the three locks:
The visitors center near the end of the third lock:

Some of the machinery used to operate the locks:
Storage basins used to fill the locks:
-
With lock closed, traffic drives across the top:
Must be why they are building this huge bridge:

The lock closes behind us:

Going into the first lock. We are using the new locks and travel under ship's power with the help of two tugs.
No ropes, no mules, plenty of room on either side:

Another ship in trouble?
Approaching the first lock:

Ships waiting outside the canal:
Looks like a wreck off in the distance...

Day nine of the cruise we woke up to the mountains of Panama:
-
Next destination was Panama Canal:
-
Didn't see any interesting excursions for Cartagena so we stayed on the ship. Views on sail-away:
-
Disney's Wonder soon docked next to us:
-
Just as we tied up, this small boat with a banner motored behind us:
Not sure what that really means, but seems to say, "Fraud causes corruption."

Later we snorkeled inside a jungle cenote. Unfortunately my camera ran out of charge and we were unable to take any pictures.
After 36 hours we were back in Galveston, our cruise over....
