For many years now I’ve kept sanitizer with me and use it before eating, after ordering from the menu, After each trip to the buffet- (seldom go to buffet). I don’t even pick up salt and pepper shaker without sanitizing LOL. My family often said I was crazy but now they aren’t laughing.
if I have to wear a mask on a cruise, I won’t go. that includes amusement parks in the summer.
we canceled our July cruise and hope to go next year.
so really I won’t do anything much different. I never really wiped down my hotel rooms etc. Maybe I would wipe down a remote control now.
I’m wearing a mask now if I go anywhere but feel if we are still required to wear them on a cruise etc., that will not feel like vacation to me. I’d prefer to not go.

we went to chops twice on Harmony in July. It was excellent.( Last year on Anthem , Chops was just okay. )

On anthem last year the photographer didn’t show up until the end of our session. Missed most of the divers.

My question is: Are the people with “Emotional support animals” paying to have these animals with them?
Several years ago I was on a Delta flight in first class, half way through the flight I noticed the seat in window seat in front and across the aisle was empty. When we landed, Bullseye, the Target dog sat up in the seat and looked out of the window. I did not know until that moment that the dog was in the seat. Yes, Bullseye’s handler had to buy or was given the seat. Bullseye has been making a public appearance at a children’s hospital.
I am not sure what kind of emotional support a bird, Turkey, chicken, snake, lizard or goldfish can give.

Was it really Bullseye? 20 years ago I moved across the country and flew my dog and my infant daughter with me. Ticket for my dog was over $400 and he had to be under the plane in cargo. My infant daughter’s seat was only around $200. Drives me insane that dogs are allowed on board a plane or a ship nowadays for a very small fee if any . (I was on harmony last month and a dog left a nice surprise for everyone near elevators by Central Park. Any responsible owner would always be on the lookout for this. Service dog or emotional support dog.)

The big difference is that the cruise line is only governed by the ADA which specifically excludes ESA's, while the airlines are governed by the ACAA (Air Carrier's Accessibility Act), which specifically allows ESA's.
Interesting. Anyone know if the differences are because an airline is a source of transportation (to which no one should be denied) while a cruise ship is a vacation and not merely transportation?

Wonderful! I think that the 'faking it' people finally added the straw that broke the camels back as in the last six months we've seen some pretty major companies (Delta, Southwest, etc.) start combating this craziness.
Well those Straws aren’t allowed anymore either

On a recent cruise I called security around 3 a.m. when the cabin next to me was hAving a party on their balcony. Seriously loud music and talking. It was super loud. Normally I’d ignore it but no one could sleep. We noticed that they also were smoking on their balcony and throwing the cigs overboard. After an hour of this , we called guest services.
Security came to our room and asked if they could come in to witness it via our balcony. We said yes. They immediately mentioned they had cameras on them before entering our room. We said okay.
(We didn’t mind at all. They saw the cigarettes and immediately went next door. I could hear the people defending themselves but once the security mentioned the cigarettes ...they were quiet.)

Sounds right.

Kay’s fine jewelry (not related to Kays Jewelers in USA malls). THey have a place in St. Maarten and st Thomas. I’ve purchased from both. Huge selection and great prices.

Can you apply the value to a bigger room and pay for an upgrade for yourself ? I stopped playing two years ago when it came down to me and another person each with one number. I lost and still am not over it LOL. (It was my understanding that it’s usually a cheaper room.)

I was on anthem last year and am booked again for December. We liked anthem. We prefer oasis but we enjoyed anthem. It doesn’t hAve a promenAde yet it does have the esplanade (?) and the via. Same idea.
We loved the sky plex. So much to do no matter the weather. Didn’t care for the North Star (once was good for me) and the iFly (tried it . Not for me.). Also liked the dedicated indoor pool just in case of bad weather.
It’s what you make of it. Try it!
We had two teens on board last year...super adventurous. Also 270 is a great area!

A few words that can't be printed here. The Facebook group is all up in arms that a family oriented cruiseline would associate with a movie that uses the same language I've heard in the guest services line ;)
Right LOL. I was more worried that MA rating was more like a R rating and didn’t want to see a racy love scene with my teenage son watching with me

Folks like to go to Disney for the holiday decorations. Last year the World was docked here over Christmas.

That’s a good idea. We are thinking universal may not be as busy.

Language.
Thanks! MA had me thinking way worse than that.

I’m booked for the Christmas sailing this year on anthem out of NJ. We booked at the beginning of the year. Price is now much higher. Anthem is great for the cold weather sailings bc of so many inside spots (covered pool and the seaplex. I’m sure getting a chair by the covered pool will be no problem (haha).
The itinerary is different than normal so I’m not too excited about the ports. (Port canaveral, Bahamas and cococay.)

Haven’t watched it yet. Anyone know why it’s rated mature?

Disney’s animal kingdom has been serving paper straws for years. I can’t stand them and wouldn’t buy them. It definitely is a noticeable difference. (Harmony gave me plastic straws three weeks ago with every cocktail).
-
I’ve disembarked in cape liberty a few times and twice we were very late arriving due to rough weather (summer cruises). Two hour delay each time.
-
I’m on a Christmas cruise this year and also noticed no dining packages available.

Make sure the js can sleep four of you. Not sure if all juniors have sofa beds etc.
-
We were on the sailing before yours (June 30) and totally agree about the CD.
-
Harmony last week had straws everywhere. Every drink I ordered from bar or Starbucks came with one. (Glasses of soda at dinner did not.)
-
Shows are free. You add them to “cart” but there’s no charge.

I saw a sign at the Labadee sign up area recently that said if you’re a driver under 21(?), You need to show a drivers license. A permit isn’t the same. Could definitely be an issue. I’d personally make him a passenger. Not worth the liability risk.
I thought I wouldn't miss 2x a day room cleaning... I was wrong.

I recently sailed on Harmony of the Seas. Although I didn't mind the one time per day room cleaning, I wasn't prepared to not have a choice of morning or night. (We met the room attendant late afternoon on the first day and he told us he could only clean our rooms in the evening around 6 p.m. (our dinner time). I told him I prefer morning but was told all the slots were filled up already. Apparently we didn't run into him earlier in the afternoon so we had no choice.
I was a little annoyed by this bc I hadn't heard of anyone being told they couldn't request a time period. We made it work but it wasn't ideal. (I made the beds myself each morning bc I like the bed made and it seemed silly to have him make our beds at 6 p.m. just for us to go to sleep a few hours later LOL )
