  1. Glad for you! Not sure how one ship was picked over another. I assume there is a protocol. Surprised that since the Regal voyage is a British Isle trip that Regal would get the preferential docking in France. 😜

There is a schedule for strikes but it’s not always kept to. Strikes are added to or cancelled last minute. Transport in and around France can be often disrupted.

Tomorrow and 1st October large protests are planned. I’d avoid Paris 100% those days. Tension is high in France currently. If anyone planned to go to Paris from le Harve it really is best they don’t. Strikes often go alongside the protests too.

I’m not passing judgment on what’s happening. As a Brit we frequently have some transport issues when they go on strike. And we are well aware of the current political climate.

I do appreciate it’s so frustrating for you all though, especially if you have travelled from a long way away. It’s easy for me to be matter of fact when I can get to france quicker than I can get to Portland from where I am.

I hope you enjoy Portland or get to go on an excursion to somewhere near by. Durdle door and the Jurassic coast is beautiful. A lot of the Island of Portland is pretty. There is Chesil beach, the castle, Portland bill lighthouse and the D-day centre too.

    Thanks I appreciate your insight.

  3. Currently aboard the Carribean Princess and have been advised that we will not sail to our scheduled Le Havre port. The dock workers are on strike and the Port is closed. Princess is re-routing us to Portland England instead. So disappointed, as Normandy was the highlight of this cruise for us.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that this port is experiencing closures at this time.

  4. We are currently aboard the  Carribean Princess and have been advised that our stop in Le Havre has been cancelled due to a workers strike. Princess is re-routing us to Portland England. Very unhappy to miss this stop as it was highly anticipated and the highlight of this trip.

  5. We are on the same ship and the same itinerary as you; we sail in September.

we decided against going on the train to Berlin due to the amount of time aboard the train.

in Gothenburg, did you take a ship excursion? What did you do? It doesn’t appear that Princess had a shuttle into town, did they accommodate you with any means of transport into The City Center?

thanks, we are looking forward to this trip.

Sorry you picked up the BUG!

Hopefully you enjoyed your Berlin trip as much as we did a couple years ago.  We still tell others that this was probably one of the best excursions we've ever taken!  We *almost* did not book it when we saw the long train ride involved...I'm sure glad we went ahead and did it.

    Get well soon...

  7. Have been on Celebrity several times and LOVE ❤️ the EQUINOX ….. but never in a cabin below the pool. Looking at a AQUA cabin on deck 11 midship. The cabin is just below the pool level; is there a noise issue? What has been your experience?

    THANKS SO MUCH,

  8. Thanks for the update on INFINITY. I plan to closely monitor her remaining voyages and her customer satisfaction results.  Her redeployment had a shaky start; hopefully she will continue her long career and will be able to return to Europe next Fall.

  9. See screen shots below. The INFINITY was scheduled for European cruises which were ALL cancelled for the latter half of 2022. I am not spreading false information; I was asking a question. This info appears on the CELEBRITY site. It doesn’t indicate that it was re-purposed to sail the CARIBBEAN. I am scheduled for a later cruise in 2023; so I am concerned that INFINITY will not be sailing.

  10. Excellent experience with Native Choice.  We did the Mayan Ruins Tour with an authentic Mayan lunch. Great food, it was fun making the tortillas and very informative.

I highly recommend this company and the experience. Vehicles were air-conditioned and comfortable. Tour guides very friendly and knowledgeable.

Just follow the map provided. Their location is just a short walkable distance from Port. The day we arrived they had helpers along the route to assist with pointing folks in the right directions.

  11. We are on the November trip to Cuba. I am surprised that even the free tours were booked and unavailable to you. I will make sure I book as soon as they open up the process. I am interested in a private tour but confused with what is allowed.
