  1. Will be cruising out of Galveston for the first time and will be using Park and Cruise. I can see where you enter the terminal from the east and proceed westward in from of the terminal for baggage drop off. After that I can't tell how the traffic flows from there. It seems that you have to go the entire length of the terminal and then turn left back towards Harborside drive. When i get to the intersection leaving the terminal onto Harborside, at that point i am somewhat confused. In order to reach Park and Cruise i would have to turn Left/East on Harborside and head back towards 25th street. There does not appear to be a stop light when you exit the terminal back onto Harborside. That seems like a nightmare. OR, do i have the flow all wrong. I'm sure traffic is crazy and i don't want to "look like a tourist" LOL and make turns that will disrupt the flow. Can anyone explain the how it all flows. THANKS!

I don’t think you will have any problems in Galveston. Try to get to your parking lot by 11am. Most lots provide shuttle buses to the terminal. You pretty much get on the shuttle, tell them your ship name and relax.

  2. Having just returned from a seven day cruise on Liberty of the Seas and staying in a cabin under the bridge I can say that noise and activity from the bridge is no issue. My concern about that location is the amplified motion you feel there and the long distance from the cabin to the restaurants and recreational areas normally at the rear of ships. I would study the deck layout carefully before buying a cabin at any extreme location on the ship.

  3. My family was on the Liberty Of The Seas March 12-19. I have cruised out of Galveston several times and never had any problems with cruise parking. On this trip I chose to use "Port Parking" rather than Lighthouse Parking. Big mistake! It took close to twenty minutes to just get into the parking area on arrival. I had to carry my own luggage from my car to the van, a distance of 200 feet or so. The van was so tiny that I had to stand while driving to the drop off at the port. Upon returning from the cruise, a huge line greeted me as I got to the area for pick up for Port Parking. It took close to an hour to get back to my car. The tiny vans Port Parking uses can accommodate only a dozen or so people. None of the other parking services had much of a line. Do yourself a favor and park elsewhere.
