It might be more of an issue on Majesty where smoking is allowed on deck 7, below the balconies on deck 10. However, on Symphony, smoking is not allowed outside below any passenger balcony staterooms. Either way, I think it's more likely that you will smell smoke from one of your neighbors smoking on an a balcony forward of you.

No smoking is allowed on balconies, so that should not be a problem.

  2. We just returned from what was supposed to be a relaxing cruise in a Cloud 9 Spa cabin on the Dream that left us tired and worn out. For 7 days there was constant loud banging and rattling of the walls and ceiling from about 5:30AM to 11:00Pm. This was not a minor noise and the type of ear plugs I used to use around heavy machinery didn't make any difference. Frequently throughout the day and night the beds, walls, and ceiling would even shake while we were trying to rest. We were in an inside cabin so the back wall of the cabins were facing the restricted crew areas and above us was the gym steam rooms, and mens and womens lockers.

Just so the cheerleaders don't think this was a minor isolated problem we talked to neighbors in a few of the other Cloud 9 cabins who were also upset about the same chronic problems in their cabins. We all spoke to Guest Services and they were able to reduce (not stop) the banging but only for a short while and only for one day.

The main purpose of the cruise was to spend our time relaxing in a quiet region of the ship and use the T-pool, steam rooms, and relaxation rooms. We even scheduled and paid for a Cloud 9 Spa cabin cruise in Feb on the Dream for the same reason before it leaves for New Orleans. We have cruised on the Dream a few times before, although not in a Cloud 9 cabin, and never had this problem. Now we are not sure we want to return for a noisy week of banging walls and ceiling while we try to sleep each night.

Has anyone in an inside Cloud 9 Spa cabin on the Dream had this problem before?

    Cheers!

We were in room 11240 and it was always very quite. Going again in 23 days and have room 11235 hope its the same.

  3. Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you all know that I haven't forgotten about the review. I've been in the hospital with Meningitis and fighting getting over it for the past few days. I had to shoot a wedding yesterday because we couldn't replace me. I'm slowly getting better it seems. I'll post more when I'm back in good health.

My prayers are with you. Hope you feel better soon. Sharon

  4. Was in 10263 (just about right below you) last February, and will be in 10265 this Feb. I didn't experience any unusual rocking or extra motion due to the height or the location. I might be a little biased - the Carnival Dream is by and far my favorite Carnival, at least compared to the others I have been on. I like the large ships and the extra things Carnival has done with Dream. This one anyone compares favorably with other lines.

    Hi

I recognize you from are roll call.:D Look forward to meeting you in Feb.

Thanks for the information and glad to hear you didn't experience any unusual rocking. I haven't had any problem with motion and have been on some pretty ruff sea's, but I worry about my niece who will be traveling with me. I am really looking forward to sailing the Dream.

  6. We will be on the Dream February 25,2012 in room 2445. Can anyone tell me about this room, or better yet have pictures of one like it? We have cruised on the Imagination and the Fantasy in outside cabins, how does this one differ?

Thank you for all the wonderful information all the members here have provided, and the pictures are such a bonus!

I am looking forward to being on a larger ship, although I am a little apprehensive about the motion of this ship that people have mentioned.

    Hi

Going on the same cruise and will be in room 11244. Sorry I don't know anything about your room or mine. If anyone knows anything about these rooms let us know. I am a little apprehensive about the motion and I am up high, but will take my ginger before and during. It really does help.

  7. Willowbea - my husband and I sail on 10/15/11 and will be in this room (11244). I will post pictures and give you more information when we get back.

Thanks so much. Really looking forward hearing from you. I hope you have a great time on your cruise. Only 8 more days luckily you.:)

  8. Hi, My Niece and I will be sailing on the Dream 2/25/12 and can't wait. I was wondering has anyone stayed in room 11244? Would like to know if it is back far enough from the gym. It looks like it under a office or something. Any information or pictures would be appreciated. Thanks
