I just booked a last minute cruise on Royal with an aft on deck aloha not knowing about it being open to deck above and that it's a small balcony... how small is it?... is it bigger then the side balconies... Will I have a foot stool at very least.

Paid for a bigger balcony and finding out this is not so!!

So upset as I'm use to having aft's with Princess that are great.

Their are a few left on Caribe but they don't look any better? any info?????

there are 2 cruises I'm interested in on the crown one leaves on Jan 4th, this date works better for me, the other Jan.18th 2017.

One says 3 sea days after the cape where the other other says Glacier Cruising in Chile. Both are in the same area where the 3 sea days are.

My questions is do both ships go the same way, will one or both see the Glacier? or the coast ?

I am Elite so it works for us I guess.. She's in the same cabin so we can board at the same time. Staying with my Bro a few days before cruise in West Palm Beach, it's where I'm from originally. So plan to get there early.

Was just going over all my info when I saw they Princess has certain times for certain decks now..Do they really follow this as we have always been able to get on the ship when we get to the port.

My boarding say 2:00?? I'm do have priority boarding.

Also my sister is coming with me and this is her 1st time on Princess, will she be able to go in with me?

since Carnival owns Princess and Holland american you can bet they will dock at this port. They have poured $$ into it, made it, so they can make money their hopping the cruisers won't go anywhere but there.

I really feel these cruise made ports are taking away from the real island people, most can't afford to work out of them as they are charged a large amount to be able to go into the ports or they have to be with the cruise lines.

It was ok at their private island but now these cruise line ports are popping up all over the Caribbean.

My friend growing up was from Jamacia and that's what she called them and I grew up calling them??

my daughter went on a closed loop cruise with us from ft lauderdale and was told she didn't need a passport a few years ago, was never written on the cruise lines site.

They would not let her board, said she had to have a passport. We sat and waited till everyone was on the ship before a customs agent came out and said she could go on,

BRING A PASSPORT!!!

I like to choose my cabin by location and catacory then compare where I want to be at which class. This gives you NO options. I bate it and will not use it

It doesn't even give you the catorogy choice.

A few years ago we dined with a honeymoon couple who had lost their luggage after they checked it in for the ship. These folks had a great attitude and several other cruisers lent them clothes. The cruise line (RCI) tried to trace their lost luggage to no avail. On the last night of the cruise (pretty late at night) there was a knock at their cabin door and a steward delivered the lost piece of luggage. It turned out that that the bag had been accidently delivered to the wrong cabin at the beginning of the cruise. The cruisers in that cabin, knowing the bag was not theirs, simply stored it under their bed until the last night of the cruise and then finally asked their steward what they should do with this "extra" bag. Life is Good!

You have got to be kidding!!!!! Do people even think anymore??? And you know those are the same people that would be major pains if THEIR luggage was lost!

there is a lot of traffic going by those cabins!!!

I really hats the new site. Almost as much as princess. To the point that I don't use them anymore and go to ta sites instead.

I have rental cabins in north ga and a family my just rented today that's husband is part of the salvage company that has moved and will take apart the ship. It is now docked at a new location.

she said there is still one person missing and they think they will find them where the ship was in the water or in the ship its self when they take it apart.

I cant image being the family of this person.

We had the same kind of thing happen on a river near here. Young girl fell in a rapid and they could not get the body out of a suck hole.

I've had some idoit cruiser take my lugguage. We checked everywhere and it was gone and after everyone had picked up their luggage - we are talking about waiting for the whole ship to empty out -there was one bag left that looked like ours!!

It had a name tag and phone # on it. We called and yes they had our suitcase were in a taxis on their way to miami. Now when they knew it was the wrong bag was most likely before they got in the taxis at the port and didnt want to return it because of time. Again no concern as to our flight plans!!

We were in ft lauderdale port and had to wait and wait for the bag to come back.

We waited for the "nice" cruiser to get to the airport so he could catch his flight and then waited again for the taxis guy to come back to the port and find us.

The person who took it could have cared less how it was effecting us and was only concerned about him making his flight. He said the cruiseline would just send him his later.

What did I learn??

To buy luggage thsat does not look like everyone else's and to have my phone # of the phone I'm traveling with on the outside of the bag.

It was a very long day. For us at least.

oh and the cruiseline said they would not pay to send his bag to him. He would have to pay to have it shipped.

Do you still have to run down to area to reserve for the whole cruise or can you do it on line now?

I hate that part of it, makes for a very un-relaxing afternoon till you can get there and HOPEFULLY they will still have openings.

I stopped trying because of this.

WOW, that is even smaller than the pool that was on the top above the aft pool.

So we lost a good sized pool, this is not what I envisioned at all!!!!

I still go to the older ships because of this, have a cruise on Caribbean Prince in Jan. But looking for something in Nov.

I've put off booking on the last 2 ships because of the charges for room service, glad they got that we are not going to pay for that..the pizza has always had a charge so it's not a problem.

Thanks for letting me know about the hydro pool. I love this on Holland and was so glad to see they were putting it on the Royal, although why they have the spa at the bottom of the ship is insane. I love Holland and looking at the sea when in the spa!!

So they have added an apt pool back to the Regal?? That was my favorite place to lay out and enjoy.

Does the Regal have a hydro pool too?

I've heard 2 things I can confirm

1) charge for room service?? which is why I haven't booked this ship or Regal yet.

2) above Rai says there's a Hydo pool in spa, but looking at deck plans I don't see one..is there one?

3) what is that spot in back of ship on Sun deck next to kids play area?

Thanks, it's the 1st time my sister will be on Princess, she sail Celb. do you think she will be happy with food etc?

Viking e-mailed me asked me to change the title and gave me the e-mail address to do it with!!! Kinda convenient!!

Just e-mailed her and asked her to change it to Problems with Viking booking... which is what happened!!
