My family and I will be cruising this summer and have chosen to stay at The Moore Hotel downtown within walking distance of Pike Place Market and close to other attractions. It's an older, historic hotel and much more affordable, than the hotel we've previously stayed at.

Hello,
If you're looking for an economical hotel with close proximity to the Seattle attractions, then check out the Moore Hotel. We are booked to stay there next July for our pre- and post- stay in Seattle for our Alaskan cruise. We have never stayed there before, but it is a great value. It is not a fancy hotel, but an older, quirky, iconic piece of history. There is also The Moore Coffee Shop right next door. They serve waffles for breakfast with an assortment of fruits and other snack items and sandwiches for lunch.
It's walking distance to Pike Place Market, the original Starbucks, the Seattle Great Wheel, and easy access to public transportation, which can take you to Seattle Center and Chihuly Garden and Glass.
Check it out for yourself. Hope you have a great cruise!! :)

My family and I will be sailing on the MS Amsterdam to Alaska next July 2017 . We were following a few 2016 World Cruise blogs and it was mentioned, during a talk Captain Mercer attended, that the MS Amsterdam would be having a retrofit in 2017. We're curious to know if you have heard when that will be?
Thank you for your help.

Hi Bill and Mary Ann,
Have really enjoyed following your World Cruise adventures for several years. Thanks for taking me along. Have a quick question. I noticed you posted a brief note to Barbara and Orlin that you will be reuniting with them this summer in Alaska. Will you be doing a 7 or 14 day cruise? I assume you will be on your home away from home the ms Amsterdam. We will be boarding her on July 17th along with Captain Mercer.
