  1. We are on Kauai this week before our cruise next Sat. (9/6/14). This morning we did the helicopter tour with Mauna Loa Helicopters. It was awesome. Smaller helicopter -- only seats 3 plus the pilot-- doors off or on per seat. A little more expensive but well worth the price!!

  2. We are sailing on POA in September but staying on Kauai for a week prior. We live in Florida so it is 6 hours time difference. We are flying to LAX and spending a night before flying into Kauai. Then to Oahu the day before the cruise and then stopping overnight at LAX on the way home also. Two of my aunts are flying direct with a change in Phoenix. What I found interesting was that my airline ticket price was less than theirs.

  3. We are flying in from Florida so we are stopping in Los Angeles for a night each way to try to help with the 6 hour time difference in Hawaii. We are flying to Kauai and staying for 6 nights before flying to Honolulu the day before the cruise. We are also staying in Honolulu a day after the cruise. When you fly this far you want to make the trip last and see as much as you can!

  4. I also check Alaska and Hawaiian airlines. Then search Orbitz. I was checking prices with them and they sent me an email when they went down. They also refund you if prices go lower than you bought.

  5. I wanted to recommend an app for you to keep track of all your tours, flights, rental cars, etc. Tripit. I sent all the info to it and then added things on my own. It keeps it in a daily order for your whole trip and you can make notes in it also. We have several flights and a week on Kauai before our cruise and I didn't want to carry all the paper confirmations with me. ;)

  6. We have a car rental. I just needed to know how long a walk it is down the gangway so I can see if my mom will need a wheelchair for that distance to where we can pick her up.

  7. I have a question about how far it is to walk off the ship at Maui. The deck cam that I see looks like it could be a long walk. We will have my 90 year old mother with us. She gets around good but I thought I might get a wheelchair for her if we need to. TIA.

  8. When we booked our cruise, we booked 3 people in a suite and 2 family members across the hall in an inside room. Our TA asked NCL to "attach" the rooms. Does that mean they will be able to embark with us, go to breakfast at Cagney's with us, etc.? Wondering what to expect. TIA
