Just getting off 4-day Bermuda. Staff says closed indefinite period. We saw no one ever working or attempting to repair it. A bust.

I have seen so many bad reviews of the Horizon. Makes me very nervous. We are booked for December for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and I would hate to be so disappointed :(
Sailing next week on the 4-day Bermuda trip for our 30th Anniversary. Super excited and so far what I've read isn't stuff that bothers wife and I. Looking forward to this new ship and a great few days underway.

Sailing the 6/21/18 4-day from NYC to Bermuda to celebrate our 30th. Looking forward to exploring and experiencing this new ship.

Refubished....not really. All they do is fix anything that might be broken. The last dry dock of the Magic was just that, deep cleaning carpets and fixing little things. They added the Pig N'Anchor and Alchemy bar. And as I said, its only a few years old in terms of ships age. The last 4 ships built by Carnival are the Magic, Breeze, and Vista... with Horizon just launching later this year in Europe. Calling the Magic old is not accurate.
I have been on the Magic twice... in 2014 and 2017. Its a beautiful ship top to bottom.
But whatever....
.
Agreed. Not really refurbished. I just disembarked the Magic on Saturday having previously sailed the Valor (2x), Dream, Fascination and Imagination. We clearly felt the Magic looked and felt far older than her age. Coupled with the overwhelming smoke smell throughout deck 5 and the very poor Playlist Production cast, I'd pick the Vista (we are sailing the Horizon in June). Yes, Dr. E is amazing. But all our Cruise Directors have been great. Pick the Vista.

Thanks so much for your running review, much appreciated, as we are set to sail on the 30th. We've done several cruises, but was nice to catch up again on such a thorough and recent experience such as yours. Looking forwards to a wild New Year's Eve party!! Will be cruising with lovely wife and four children...two about to graduate from college, two in HS. First trip with us all in several years.
Cheers, Jim

Disembarking the Horizon today, we found the elevators to be one of the worst aspects of this new ship. Long queues, long waits, one elevator coming for 10 people only to be full when it arrived that we saw. After a few try's, we bailed. We're fit and the stairs were fine for us.
