  1. So I've booked a Carnival cruise on the Carnival Spirit in March 2016. I have a 2.5 yr old who is not toilet trained. My travel agent is adamant Carnival will not accept children who are not toilet trained into the kids club. However I rang Carnival and they said they do accept children over two who are NOT toilet trained and will change their nappies. I know other cruise lines I.e. PandOra and Princess will not accept toilet trained children, but Carnival have stayed they do. Has anyone had any experience regarding Carnival and non-toilet trained children and can confirm either way what their policy is? Thanks

Your Travel Agent doesn't know what they are talking about. Kids 2 & over will be accepted in the Kids Club

if they aren't toilet trained. Nappies will be changed for kids up to 3.5 yrs old. You do have to supply the nappies & wipes.

  2. If you don't usually drink bottled water you'll probably have no problems with the ship's water but may want some bottles to take ashore on port days. I'm not sure what Carnival charge on board but, yes, buying it before you go will be much cheaper. Coles have 12 packs of the 600ml Mt Franklin which for $8.79 and that is as good as any. Print out an extra luggage label and stick it on to the pack with clear packing tape and it will be delivered to your cabin with the rest of your luggage.

    All drinks including water,

taken on Carnival Spirit or Carnival Legend MUST be part of your carry on luggage.

  3. Personally I agree with a change for safety reasons, but in this case knowledge of the situation was available well prior to sailing, so there may be a case to answer.

Wasn't the cyclone forecast to travel in a south east direction (away from Vanuatu & New Caledonia) then it changed direction toward Vanuatu. Are you saying that knowledge of it changing direction was available well before sailing? If so when was this known?

  4. It is pleasing for the truth to be surfacing, sure things have not been the best for some but what was the alternative? Would people have been happy for their cruise to have been cancelled on Sunday or even have the departure delayed a few days, which wasn't possible as the ship needs to be back in Sydney on Sep. 14 for the next cruise. As for the pools, would anybody have complained if the pools had been filled with sea water containing god knows what before it left Singapore? Most experienced cruisers would know that any ship on it's 1st cruise out of dry dock is never finished,

    that's just Murphy's Law :)

  5. You can't book a table for Your Time (Any Time) Dining. There are a couple of tables that could seat 11 people in the YTD section but if there were other large groups in the Dining Room before you you would either have to wait for a table to be available or have your group split up. Everyone in a group has to be ready to dine before they will allocate a table to you each night. If you chose Early or Late dining you will be allocated a table for your group at the time you chose (1730 or 1945). A problem that many groups have with YTD is everyone deciding on a time to eat each night. If you have fixed time dining you don't have that problem. If you do chose Early or Late a table will be allocated for the group & it doesn't matter if everyone turns up every night or not & the table is yours for the cruise.

  6. This is the Official statement by Carnival this afternoon........ We’re deeply concerned to confirm that a valued member of the Carnival Spirit team is currently unaccounted for in spite of an extensive search of the ship earlier today. The search and rescue authorities have been notified and the ship has been turned round to look for the missing team member.

We’ll update Carnival Spirit’s guests on any change to their itinerary should it become necessary. Your thoughts as we do our best to locate the crew member are appreciated.
