We've used them from downtown to the airport a couple times and would use them again. They have an app to schedule a pickup.  The car they used both times was barely big enough for 2 of us plus luggage. You may need to request a larger car if you can.  I live downtown and have never heard of a "Day Resort hotel". What is it?

We are using Port Valet for luggage so we won't have big bags with us.  Will need to make sure the vehicle can fit 4 adults though.

Here is the website I used to book our day pass hotel. It entitles us to use the hotel's pool, hot tub, lounges etc as a way to pass the hours until our redeye flight back east.

  2. We are a party of 4 disembarking from NCL at Pier 66.  We are looking for a ride to our Day Resort hotel downtown and then a ride to the airport later in the evening.  The reviews I've seen online are not good, mostly from fall of 2023.

Wondering if anyone has used them in 2024 and what your experience has been.  Their pre-order website & rates seem good, but don't want to use them if they're unreliable.

    Thank you!

  3. We will be cruising on the Encore next month.  My father gifted us on-board credit.  He forwarded me the Amenities Confirmation email and the credit is showing in my NCL cruise summary.

    My questions:

Can this on-board credit be used in the Casino?

Is this considered refundable or non-refundable on-board credit?

I can't find this info anywhere on the NCL website....

    Thank you!

As ready2cruz said, get yourself registered and then you'll automatically receive benefits.

The package left in your stateroom is very nice and they do have a reception at some point and it is listed in the dailies.

I sailed Joy last July, received the package, but missed the reception due to day drinking! Lol!!

I'm sailing Getaway in 23 days and plan on attending the reception this time.

NCL does this military perk right. the discount is great and the recognition onboard is a very nice touch too.

    Enjoy your cruise!!

Hi, thanks for your response!  I am not the military member but my Dad and Son are.  They are not cruising with me this time, but I love to attend any kind of recognition of our military onboard!

Are you signed up with NCL's Military Program? 10% off cruise is one of the benefits.  On the Epic in January we also received a nice package in the cabin with a patch and metal pin and a nice letter. There was also a Veteran Meeting that was very nice. NCL will verify your military service through Id me and you only need to do it once. There on our when you go to book a cruise you are automatically given your benefits. Also available for spouses.

Thanks for that info!  I am not the military member, but my Dad is a Koren War veteran and my son is currently active duty AF.  They are not cruising with me this time.  But I like to attend the Vet meetings and any acknowledgment of our military.

    Not necessarily.

The decks don't always exactly match. For example 12784/12786 & 12788/12790 connect on deck 12 but 13786/13788 connect on deck 13. Also, 12788 is the 4th stateroom after the bump out while 13788 is the 5th stateroom after the bump out.

What I suggest is to try to book 13790 with 4 people. Some MA category staterooms sleep 3 and some sleep 4. If it sleeps 4, the bed is near the balcony. The deck plan doesn't have the symbol for how many people it sleeps but if the PCC can put 4 people in there, you know where the bed is. If it only sleeps 3, the bed can be in either location but most "sleeps 3" balcony staterooms (standard and Club) on the side of the ship have the bed near the closet.

    13800 is bed near closet.

    13796 is bed near closet.

If that pattern remains consistent (it doesn't always) 13790 would be bed near balcony.

THANKS Two Wheels, for sharing all of your knowledge and responding!  So hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised when I board in May and find my bed by the balcony!

You have so much insight into the cabin layout and ship configuration.....is your knowledge gleaned from cruising often??  If so, lucky you!

  7. I will be on the Encore to Alaska in May 2024.

Does NCL do any sort of a military tribute?  Other cruise lines do short, planned tributes of various types during the course of the week.

I searched some posted Latitude Dailys but did not see anything listed.  I would hate to miss it if there is one.

    Google searches are amazing things.

Well, now I'm annoyed.  When booking my Alaska cruise on this ship several months ago, I expressed my wish to have a cabin with the bed by the balcony.  I was assured that #13790 was set up this way.  But now seeing this video of #13788, I'm realizing that the bed is going to be by the closet.  Arrrrgh, so much for using a travel agent who spoke directly to NCL about this when booking.   I realize this is a 1st world problem, but I have only ever had a bed by the closet on 5 previous cruises and wanted the opposite.  Not to mention that the closet seems easier to access without the bed right next to it. I wish bed position info was available somewhere on line, but I searched all the cruise deck sites, including NCL's, and could never find it. 😞

  9. Our party of 4 will be ending our Alaska cruise on NCL Encore on May 12, 2024.  Upon debarking, we will be going to the Embassy Suites Pioneer Square hotel on a daypass as our East Coast flight does not leave until 11pm.   We are using Port Valet so we will not have much baggage with us.

My question is, how easy is it to meet up with your Uber/Lyft driver on Pier 66?  Is there a designated rideshare lot or area?

  10. HI,

We will be disembarking Celebrity Apex at Port Canaveral and need to get 4 people and baggage to FLL Airport mid November.

Can anyone recommend a shuttle service?  It can be shared, or private.  We will be traveling with two very senior family members and need efficient & reliable service!  Reasonable rates.

Has anyone used JR Shuttle Service?

    Thank you!

  11. We stayed at the Moana Surfrider, it's a Westin property. Its a beautiful hotel, the oldest hotel in Waikiki. Beautiful open air lobby, leads out to a great Banyan tree bar, pool and the beach. Great customer service, the rooms were immaculate, friendly atmosphere. Loved our 4 nights there.

  12. Will be on Pride of America cruise May 19. Would like any news from folks who took the May 5 week. :o

I was on the May 5 cruise. We arrived at the dock in Hilo, and almost immediately headed back out. Were told it was because the ocean swells were too high, too unsafe. The water was somewhat choppy. We had a sea day instead. We did dock in Kona. There was little to no news or talk of the volcano/earthquake from NCL. I mostly heard about it from friends & family on social media!

  13. Just sailed on POA last week. May 5 - 12. We did not dock in Hilo, had a sea day instead, but did call in Kona.

Sad news all around that they are not calling in either port this week.

  14. Hello,

We are booked on the May 5 POA cruise around Hawaii. I was surprised to see that baggage is restricted to two 50 lb pieces per person.

I have a 70lb weight limit per bag with my airfare.....not that I think both of my bags will weigh 70 lbs, but I am glad not to have to worry about the normal 50lb limit for the flight.

Now I'm concerned about the baggage check on the ship......how strictly do they enforce the weight limit? This is only my 2nd cruise, but I definitely don't recall there being a weight restriction on Celebrity.

I am not a light packer...... Any input would be appreciated!
