I'm sorry this happened to you.

Pay no attention to those who feel compelled to say that they've sailed 300+ days on Princess and this has never happened to them. And let's not forget those who will chime in and say, "give them a break, it's a pandemic".

The response from Princess for many of us who've had bad experiences while on board has been underwhelming at best. In your case, Princess treated you like crap. (Pun intended)

Here's some contact info if you don't already have it.

Mail Jan, and CC the others.

Don't bother contacting these guys or Lorna Warren, VP Guest Services or Customer Relations, no one at Princess seems to give a you-know-what.
Emailed letters to all of them upon our return from the infamous Sky Princess TA back in March, crickets still.  A simple auto response acknowledging receipt would have been nice, too much trouble I suppose.  This week, we FINALLY received the promised FCC compensation from missed days onboard due to quarantine & a check for incidentals from our quarantine in London.  As it's a significant amount, we've booked what will be our last Princess cruise for January 2023...

Best of luck to anyone encountering issues in future, my prayers are with you.

  2. Boyfriend and I were on this now infamous Transatlantic cruise in March 2022 and both of us contracted Covid and were quarantined onboard and in London.
Note:  I DO NOT blame Princess for that unfortunate situation.

Upon arrival back home, we gathered the paperwork, receipts, and other documentation we were told would be required for re-imbursement, FCC, etc. and submitted all to the departments we were told could help.  Fast forward to today, after countless hours spent on hold and/or speaking with folks who have "documented" everything, etc., etc., blahblahblah we STILL are no closer to resolution than when we started the process in April.

On April 12th, I also forwarded a letter and documentation to the following, with nary an acknowledgement of receipt, let alone any useful information or, heaven forbid, an actual response:

Collin Steinke, Director of Customer Relations (csteinke@princesscruises.com)
Lorna Warren, VP Guest Services (lwarren@princesscruises.com)
Mario Siebaldi, Sr. VP Guest Experience (msiebaldi@princesscruises.com)

If anyone has any constructive advice on how to put an end to this ordeal, I welcome your input and thank you in advance.  If not, I kindly request that you don't reply.

It’s my favorite meal on every Royal-class ship we’ve sailed. Great service & food with free-flowing wine for only $11 more than the Crown Grill. 😋🍷🥂

Can anyone share any recent menu(s) please?

The mandatory quarantine is at Princess expense, including a per diem for food, until you are cleared to travel by a medical professional.  If you use their contracted hotel, there is no out of pocket expense.  If you make other lodging arrangements, the difference between the Princess contracted rate is on you or your travel insurance.

We're booked on the 3/12 Sky Princess TA and will be flying back from London to the US on the last day of the cruise.

Would you have had to be insured by Princess for them to pay these expenses?  Also, I'd assume only the quarantined person's costs would be covered, not those of their traveling partner?

  5. Quote below from Celebrity email informing itinerary change for our 10/2 Edge cruise -  Costa Maya's out, but Cozumel's still on.  Seems weird that 1 Mexican port's OK, another isn't...any thoughts? Not a concern either way, we're just excited to be sailing again...thanks!

"Celebrity Cruises has been working closely with health and government authorities, in each country we sail from, to outline a clear path for cruising with new health and safety protocols. As we return to service, we are continuously evaluating all itineraries and the status of travel conditions around the world. This means some of our sailings will need to be modified including the upcoming Celebrity Edge sailings departing September 18, October 2, and October 30, 2021."

  6. We've booked a YC suite (sooooo excited!) for October 2021 and, from looking at YouTube videos, seems most of the YC sun deck is shielded by plexiglass.
As a sun worshipper, I'm wondering if there's an area for loungers in the YC that isn't covered or might there be such an area in the private Aurea experience sun deck (if so, where is that located)?

    Thanks in advance!

  7. Husband & I would love to see Cinque Terre by boat from La Spezia cruise ship port.
We want to avoid trains, hikes, etc.  We're mobile, but don't want to do a lot of walking, rather enjoy the sights from the water.
2-3 villages, with time to briefly walk around for shopping, a quick gelato, photos, etc.
Something like this one, or open to other recommendations - thanks in advance!

  8. Just booked Edge on her 4/19 TA, sadly,  only 8:30pm set dining is available to us, will try to change once onboard.  If we're not successful, does that mean we are limited to 1 dining room, or can we visit the other 3?
Also, any idea of who'll be captain for this voyage?
    TIA for your response.

  9. Thoroughly enjoying your report and a big THANK YOU for taking time to keep us informed,  will be sailing the same itinerary 4/6 and looking forward to returning to Celebrity!  Having never dined in Murano before, I appreciate your review of the Dover Sole, was a toss-up between that and the Turbot, and while lobster is one of my favorite foods, I prefer mine unadulterated, steamed, with just a touch of lemon & butter on the side (like you!).  So Sole it is...unless you prefer the Turbot (I trust you, since I agree that the Pork Ramen in Sushi on 5 is to die for!)?

Looking forward to your next installment...meantime, have a blast!!

There was a coupon on the back of my group number for the free kitchen tour on Day 2. I just asked the host if there were any specials yesterday and was offered the $25 all you can eat.

Thank you very much for the reply, we look forward to eating there...enjoy your remaining days aboard!

  11. 3 star HAL Mariner, but have not yet sailed on any Vista or Pinnacle class ship, hoping to do so shortly.
Looking for major differences - pro & con - between the 2 classes, besides the obvious ones, i.e. capacity.
We love the refined (although not stuffy) atmosphere on HAL, their friendly crews & top notch service.
Which do you prefer & why?
Any info appreciated, thanks in advance!

  12. Can anyone comment from first-hand experience of noise issues in aft Seaside cabins on Deck 15, specifically from the pools/sun decks above? We usually select cabins on decks with no public areas below or above, so a bit leery about changing that habit.

    Currently booked in 15212.

    Thanks for your input!
