Please see post #8.  It doesn’t sound like there were any tickets purchased by the OP.  Sounds like Azamara is trying to arrange transportation for ticket holders.

I too would be disappointed if that was the only reason I had booked the cruise

i am one of those guests who booked this cruise only for the world cup experience. my wife is not pleased that i have shelled out £5000 to do this cruise. i have tickets for the world cup. 3 games over 2 days. the problem is its over 400 miles from abu dhabi to doha. a long journey, twice. as they will not put me up in a hotel. and the first game is a 1pm kick off. i'm fuming. its my 60th birthday treat. i do not want to go now and it doesnt help people saying so what. if you order steak dont be pleased when they bring pizza.

i only got my hayya card approved yesterday after weeks of trying. not a good start to our 1st azamara cruise. i feel like i have been mis-sold.

  2. thanks suewheldon for the reply. today i have had good news. i managed to log in to my FIFA. account and after an hour's wait i was able to purchase 3 individual tickets for England,USA and France games.so if anybody on this cruise is also going to the football i would be up for a group trip.

  3. is anyone on here on this cruise from Dubai thinking of attending any world cup games. i am booked on it but i have failed in my attempt to get tickets.

there is a last chance option coming through fifa. but they havent said when. the cut off date to cancel and lose just the deposit is approaching. i am still looking forward to the itinery and some winter sun but missing the world cup whilst its in Doha for 3 nights will be a massive disappointment.if i do get some tickets is anyone willing to meet up and travel to the games.

  4. Hi,  a few years back we got off the MSC seaside in San Juan and to my delight there is a cigar shop in the middle of town. The Drew Estate shop was packed with all types of cigars. my favourite being the Drew Estates very own brand KubaKuba Acid .i'm from England so had no bother bringing them back.if you want a smoke while your there then this should satisfy your craving for a Cuban.

  5. Hi everyone,is anybody going on this cruise end of April for 7 nights.

would like to know about the procedure for pre cruise test.

apparently I have to book a lateral test and upload the results just before we set off .

flying on a p&o package from Manchester.

    Is this correct.

    thanks

  6. hi Bazrat, when we booked the Travel agent said birmingham airport. they have sent us an email saying tickets are available to print. we will be in bristol for 3 days before the cruise. it would have been easier to drive straight to southampton than birmingham. we generally book flights and cruises etc seperate before covid started, now we felt it would be easier through an agent but its proving to be more stressful.

no proper information is given by either them or the cruise company.

  7. we will be in our car in bristol but we need to know, do we drive up to the airport for the coach to southampton, leave our car at the airport for the return flight then drive home to leeds OR do we have to drive to southampton and leave the car there. so when we get back the coach takes us back to southampton for the car to drive all the way back up to leeds. HELP.

  8. can anyone who is on the october 22nd cruise from southampton to barbados 14 night cruise please put my mind at rest.

we were told that the return flight is into birmingham airport but our travel agent hasnt stated wether the coaches will take you back to southampton

BEFORE or AFTER the cruise. we need to know so we can book the car into either the airport or southampton cruise port.

we will be staying in bristol just before the cruise so we need to know and quick. its not long til we go.

tried to contact the travel agent but q's on the phone are very long and P&O dont relly say anything on their site.

also we cannot print off our e-tickets even though an email from the travel agent says we can.

  9. we did harrisons cave a few years ago. we walked the short distance to the bus station near the terminal, ask anyone who works there which bus to catch (cant remember the no:) it cost a couple of dollars each and the driver told us when to get off. a short walk to the caves and we paid on the door. walk back to the main road and wait on the corner for a reggae reggae bus (frequent) they all go into bridgetown centre. same again a couple of dollars with music. dont spend silly money on a taxi. get a bus from the main bus station to a beach nearby. have a great time.

  10. hi cappers, me and my other half did the cable car in bergen rather than the funicular. its not really walkable from port but we got on a local bus from town which heads out towards the hospital (just ask a local) the bus driver told us where to get off. its not far and not expensive. a short walk up a hill gets you to the station for the cable car. pay through a machine or by kiosk. its a cracking ride up and a great view. much better than fighting the crowds at the funicular. enjoy

  11. mickey89 your spot on. we sailed caribbean on britannia last november. p and o are too british for me, i like to go away on holiday to get away from daily life and us brits have a particular way of life at home which we tend to take with us on holiday. sorry this may bother some of you. prefer (american style ships) and your comment about the food was right as this was the biggest disappointment of the trip.the ship is lovely and modern but no proper outside seating on an evening.

  12. hi janny444, we had one of the larger insides on britannia last november. deck B. considering we had an inside on the azura i would say they appear to have loads more room. certainly around the bed and the gap between the dressing table and the bottom of the bed meant you didnt have to move to let someone past.also the shower is a double size from a normal inside. the flatscreen tv above the dressing table makes for more space as azura used those old fashioned crt tv`s, bulky even for a small portable.the area for clothes is to one side and does not impact much into the space for the bathroom. certainly worth booking. we like balconies but sometimes the cost doesnt justify it. certainly on britannia for that cruise as the balconies are small. hope you get what you want out of the cruise and enjoy it as the holiday isnt about staying in your room.

  13. hi everyone. i have travelled with p and o last november (britannia) and was looking at their site for 2 friends who want to go to the fyords next may time. trouble is the website says things like ( cruise by ) in brackets and when i tried to check whether britannia goes into geirenger it doesnt really tell you.

so 2 questions, what does( cruise by ) mean and does britannia sail into geirenger.

also does anyone else think the website needs simplifying as i cant make head n tale of it .

  14. not sure what you are not happy with here. you want to change from thomson to thomas cook because they are not using the dreamliner. is this correct. if so thomas cook use airbus a330`s for the caribbean flights. so if thomson have changed aircraft from dreamliner then they will probably use a330. sorry if i have read this wrong but your post isnt clear. (for me anyway)

on another note to anyone else getting in a pickle about the type of aircraft involved the dreamliner is an aeroplane that safely gets you to your destination as do other makes. we were on it in november 2016 to barbados and it wasnt wow or anything to write about. people rave about them but its just like any other long haul flight.

  15. simple answer maybe is to buy some now and hedge your bets with the other half later. say $500 now and $500 in october/november. then at least if the dollar-pound drops next year you will be glad of the first 500. :)

  16. hi katie, i can sympathise with you on this one. same happened to us with our november 2015 britannia cruise . the other half was made redundant and we coudnt really afford the £3500. we`d paid £500 deposit so we swapped to this november instead. they charged us the extra £100 admin and on top we were paying £100 each flight supplements from manchester. a very costly cruise but thankfully weve had a great time. just a shame they cannot accept your/our deposits against future cruises of any value. advise to anyone about this is to double check the wording in the booking terms from ANY of the cruise lines before paying a deposit.

  17. we are also on this cruise and hope you have a smashing time on your first cruise.

about the tipping, if its like all the other cruise lines then just ask to have the automatic tipping taken off your account and ask for some envelopes so you can tip your cabin steward/waiters etc. at or near the end of the cruise.

  18. thanks for this. we have decided to book a meal and show once we are on board if there is availability. seems a shame not to use this facility for general snacks and drinks without a performer. maybe 3/4nights on a 2 week cruise. i am surprised there`s a performance every night.

on the azura a couple of years back there were entertainers on in some bars where you could just grab a seat and watch for free or is its because of the meal as well. its more like NCL EPIC with the speigal tent dinner shows.

  19. hi all, looking forward to our britannia cruise very soon, just a question for previous britannia cruisers, can you go in the limelight club without paying for a meal and entertainment as the personilser now says you can book to see certain acts that have been announced. or is it only accessible on the nights there are no performers on. it looks great but dont want to be restricted on evenings as to where we can go for a drink etc.
