  1. I often at the travelers request will do on line check- in for my clients. Again this is at their request. But I go through the information with them and put in the answers they supply to me. I would never assume.

I never need their log in information to do this.

I agree it is very odd for the TA to put in what seems to be random info. I would NEVER put myself as emergency contact.

Definitely have a conversion with them.

  2. I have to laugh because we were on the same sailing. But remember things differently.

Half Moon Cay I only remember it raining for maybe 15 minutes.

Grand Turk we were off the ship first thing so we did not have much of a line up.

I remember one rough day, a couple of overcast days but otherwise good weather.

The chair hogs were terrible, and the comedy club was great.

Food was good not great. Not sure if I think the extra $ for the steakhouse was worth it.

The ships decor just made me dizzy, I think that is what I disliked the most. :-)

but we also have a great time!

  3. I also have a group of 13 people on the Breakaway. My mother is gifting this cruise to our family. It is her wish that we all eat together (2 tables one of 6 and 7). I am glad I read this because I want to make sure her wish is realized after everything she is doing for us! ;)

  4. Hi. We are in 8722 next week. Who was your cabin steward? There have been a number of negative reviews about the cabin steward that services a group of cabins on that side in that area. I am hoping his assigned group of cabins ended before my cabin, and your comment suggests that it might, which would make me very happy. Did you have/ask for chaise lounges for your balcony? Any problem?

    Terry

Our cabin stewards name is Anthony.

  5. Glad you had a good cruise Was the bed next to the balcony or the closet? Booked an M6 for my daughter and trying to figure out if the configurations on the deck plan are accurate. Also did the balcony have lounge chairs? Thanks!

We were in 8724 the bed was next to the balcony.

When we got into the room we had 2 lounge chairs and 2 regular chairs with a tiny table.

We asked our cabin Stewart to bring in an extra lounge chair and he did no problem.

  6. We are just off the Breakaway mini suite with large balcony.

    Cabin 8724.

Great cabin, no noise issues what so ever. We were usually in bed by 11_ midnight.

    Loved the cabin.

My only issue was the coach where the 3rd person slept. So incredibly hard, impossible to sleep on.

luckily we had a great cabin steward and he brought in an extra mattress to put on top of the couch.

If anyone have any specific questions ask away!

  7. I have found my people! :D I use packing spreadsheets for EVERY trip, business and pleasure.

For my non-cruise trips, I have my spreadsheet broken down by day and then day clothes and evening clothes for dressing down. The columns are: bottoms (slacks, dockers, capris, jeans, shorts), top #1 (blouse, shortsleeve, tank), top #2 (cardigans or blazer), Socks, Shoes and then the final column is jewelry. The row is the day. If I have two outfits (work for day and dress down for evening) then I use two rows for the day.

For cruises, the spreadsheet is more complex! For this spreadsheet, the columns are days and I note whether it's a sea day or docked/excursion. The rows are Morning, Afternoon and Evening. In each cell Day 1/Morning, Day 1/Afternoon, etc, I put in my clothes for that time. If it's a docked day, the morning and afternoon are merged and usually the same thing. I include all the clothes, shoes and jewelry in the cell. They are color coded too - blue are sea days and some shade of pale orange are docked days. That's the first page! The second page in the spreadsheet is a list per type - Tops as one column, Bottoms, Shoes, Jewelry, etc. I copy over from page 1 to page 2 and use page 2 as a packing list. Once I have page 2, I start washing clothes and putting them when clean in a guest room - folded on the bed or hanging in the closet. Oh, and at the bottom of the first sheet are the things I take on EVERY trip. Undies, bras, nightie, brush, comb, makeup, etc. This is especially good for phone cords, folding hamper and all the the little things that are a pain to forget at home.

I have shared my spreadsheet with many of my fellow cruisers, some appreciate my er...attention to detail...while others think I'm nuts (but a well packed and organized nut). Overpacking is not an issue and I always feel relaxed that I haven't forgotten anything.

If anyone wants a copy, I'm happy to share!

    Pam

This sounds like a great spreadsheet , are the items from page 1 auto filled in on page 2?

I would love a copy. can you email it to ddaghofer at vision2000 dot ca

    Thanks

  8. Oh I can't believe NCL didn't mention the group perks to you. That is whack. We knew about it because we had a group cruise before on the Gem and asked them if there was some sort of benefit to organizing groups because that is a lot effort and you are brining so many customers to them. So yeah just ask and they shall provide.

The only exception could be if you booked your group after group space was closed. I tried just recently to book a group for a September sailing and was told by NCLGROUPS that all the group space was closed.

  9. We have 38 guests sailing and we are all in a group that my travel agent put us in through ncl group departments, so they better hook us up especially after all they put us through for the last year and a half lol! How was the ship overall for the cruise?

If you are 38 people you should absolutely get something, based on when you booked. On board credits, wine. cocktail party something,

Also you should have a couple of free people in there (still have to pay the taxes and port fees) but two people in the lowest class of cabin.

Definitely talk to your TA, a good TA would have spoken to you. There are great TA's out there that do alot of work, much more than typo a few thing into a computer.

  10. One of the ways I keep my "waiting/weighting frustration" at bay (you know, waiting for the elevator, waiting for a dinner table, weighting frustration after eating that desert, or the mightly mozzarella sticks, etc), I use the stairs whevever possible. I also hit the gym every a.m.

Breakaway has a good one. The elipticals, treadmills, bikes, rowers, weights, "nautilus" machines, are all top tier and some of the best you'll find anywhere. Plus, you can overlook the ocean while working out. What's not to like for an hour every a.m.?

Thanks for the great review, we are looking into booking the Breakaway in September, I also always take the stairs on a cruise.

Does the breakaway have an outdoor running track?

    Thanks
