  1. Hello, we are booked on the Norwegian Jade the week of Oct 30th. I have a premium dining option included with my booking and want to book it when the kids can go to the kids club. They are 7 and 10 years old. I made a reservation for 5:30pm, but just saw a thread showing only open hours in the evening from 7-10pm. That was from August. Has anyone seen the hours recently?

I´m still glad to be taking the cruise, but I wish they were more transparent about the kids club hours.

  2. Maybe it's just too far out. I'll let you know how my excursion goes and see if their tour checked all the boxes. Maybe by October, spots for your port day will open up! I'll keep detailed notes for you! : )

    Thanks and good luck!

  3. That looks like a good option, thanks! I just sent them a message to see if they will be running that day. I think our port time might be weird also, it's 8:00am to 6:00pm. It seems a lot of the tours start at 7:30, but this one says by 8:00am, so hopefully it will work.

If that doesn't pan out, I'm still not sure how flexible the time would be on the Vatican Museum tickets if I try to buy them on my own for the cruise ship tour.

  4. Hello, I will be in Rome (Civitavecchia) on Monday, Feb 20, 2017. I'm really struggling with this port. My husband wants to see the Colosseum and I want to see the Sistine Chapel. It seems the cruise tours only offer one or the other. They just have one tour that goes into the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica, in the morning it just does a quick driving tour of Rome.

The other tour that starts with a walking tour of Rome and the Colosseum and has free time at the Vatican in the afternoon. I'm not sure we if can get into the Sistine Chapel during our free time? It sounds like the lines are very long, so I don't know if the free time will just be a waste? I'm thinking of just pre-buying the Vatican Museum tickets, but I'm not sure what time to get and I'm not sure how flexible they are on the time.

I've trying looking for tours outside of the cruise ship tours, but they all seem to start at least 500 Euros for the whole van. I can't seem to find anyting like the SPB tours in St. Petersburg where you can buy tickets for just the members of your party. You don't have to rent the whole van. Do they not having anything like that for Rome?

    Thanks for any help.

  5. Hi, I skimmed the thread but didn't read all posts so forgive me if this has been asked. We need to get from the airport to our hotel (Skt. Petri). My mom is handicapped and we also have a baby and a lot of luggage, so any type of public transport that includes any walking is really out.

My questions is, should we just grab a cab or do you suggest any type of shuttle service we can book to go from the airport to the front door of our hotel? Thanks so much!

  6. I got started on this on our recent Alaska cruise. Didn't pay a dime. The cruise ship (Rotterdam) gave us a card for a free bracelet in Juneau. Got the bracelet and the bear charm. The DI guy tried to get us to pay $5 for the bear charm but the ship shopping girl was there and told him it was supposed to be free, so it was free. They didn't give us any punch card or anything. Then in Ketchikan just walked in and got the salmon charm for free. Again, no punch card or anything. We didn't stop in Skagway, so I just got the two charms. Sitka doesn't have a DI, which I think is for the best for Sitka.

I did a Caribbean cruise in 2003 and don't remember this at all. Is this a relatively new program? I do remember doing to a TI at that time for a free pair of tanzanite earrings as I was recommended to on the ship. They were just tiny chips, but at least they were free.
