For anyone flying Virgin they still have some right old sheds doing that Caribbean route. If you can, in economy upgrade to Economy delight, seat pitch up to 34". We flew economy classic - never again.

We're flying TUI to the Caribbean from Bournemouth in Dec. We've never had a bad TUI long haul and never felt the need to upgrade to PE, perhaps we've been lucky.

That would have a Virgin A330.  Which are getting a bit long in the tooth now.  Gradually being replaced with new A330 NEOS.  According to the info Virgin will be utilising an A350 on the Barbados route. They are all fairly new,so hopefully a better travel experience for those on board

  2. Just received email that the carriers for this year are TUI,Norse Atlantic and Virgin Atlantic.  Norse have a fleet of Dreamliners. So better than last years offering of Maleth.  Virgin Atlantic will offer the chance of upgrading to upper class on their flights.  Last time Virgin were used was a mixture of A330 and A350 planes

  3. Just for info on delayed flights.   Doesn’t apply to the Maleth flights as they seem well in excess of three hour delays.

The definition of landing is when the first door is opened. This has been decided upon legally regarding EU 261 passenger rights. So you might think your plane touched down just under three hours late.Note the time the first door opens to air bridge/stairs .  That’s what counts .

ICF, if you're passing through are you able to give us an update on what's happening onboard re the passengers scheduled to leave Arvia today in Antigua.  It appears the Manchester Maleth flight which should have left this morning is delayed to 8.00pm this evening and I just wondered how it's being handled onboard.

Hope you're having a brilliant holiday. Looking forward to hearing about it when you get back!

The flight from Manchester has been cancelled . Passengers are in a hotel at Manchester Airport.  New departure time tomorrow not yet known

Do P and O normally offer business class upgrades for flights?

If not can't see them using the planes that offer that?

We flew Antigua January this year from Manchester .Virgin Atlantic charter to join Arvia . Upper Class was offered before the flight to those who wanted to pay the extra.  Plane was an Airbus 330.

  6. I reserved seats the other day for a Jet2 scheduled flight to Malta to join Azura. As far I believe Jet2 scheduled flights are on line check in only. So you have to provide passport information prior to on line check in. This opens about 30 days before flight.

Yes, it’s very much like Champagne but IMO slightly nicer. It’s maybe a tiny bit sweeter than Champagne. The grapes freeze on the vine. I don’t like sparkling wines (other than Champagne) but love Peller Ice Cuvée. They do a Rose version as well, which I’m not as keen on, but my wife loves. We’ve recommended it to a few people and all have liked it. Unfortunately it’s quite difficult to source at home.

There’s a wine company in Bath who I use for supplies of Ice Cuvee. You’ll get a discount for a new order. Can’t name them, but they sell Great Wine 😗

That’s brilliant that the menus clearly state which drinks are included in each package and reassuring that the exclusions for the deluxe package aren’t as extensive as some of us cynics might have feared. It would be fantastic if someone was able to post a full set of drinks menus from all bars, all clear and the right way up. I know a very obliging chap who might help if the new packages are live on Iona yet @Interestedcruisefan😂

If Peller Ice Cuvée is included I might have to reconsider my stance on drinks packages 😂

I can report via a friend on Ventura that the Peller Ice Cold Cuvee is included in deluxe package 😃. As is the red wine Boom

    Boom.  My personal favourite

  9. Hi.  We flew Manchester to Antigua and return earlier this year.  Virgin flights.  An Airbus 330 plane.   Should have left about 1100,then they said 1200. Eventually  took off about 1300.

Return flight left Antigua 1730 their time. Landed in Manchester just after 0500.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks for the information.👍

We have already paid the additional supplement for PE. How much extra did you pay for the upgrade to upper class? The cruise is for my wife's 60th, so I'm prepared to push the boat out.

Hi Tiger B.   Originally it was £999 one way per person.  They dropped it to £500 one way per person. If you look at a Virgin scheduled flight in Upper Class to Antigua from LHR it’s thousands of pounds .  As you’ve already paid PE you’ll just need to pay the difference . That’s what we did through our travel agent. Which I’m not allowed to name, but there’s a village in Derbyshire with same name.  Well worth it I say.  Especially for a special event

Well boy 91, do you recall which aircraft it was? Was it the one with more economy seats and less PE seats?

Also, do you recall if they used the upper class seats? It would be a shame to let them go to waste!😉

Hi Tiger B.  It was a standard 330.  10 years old.  Registration G - VUFO  We had same aircraft both ways . Mrs WB91 and I treated ourselves to upper class. 30 odd seats in the cabin.Great service. I know that Virgin have some A350s set up for leisure. They have smaller upper class and larger premium economy cabins. They have used these in some of the Barbados charters.Antigua seems to be 330s all the time.  Hope this helps 👍🏻

  12. This year P and O have charted Virgin Atlantic flights to Antigua and Barbados .

    From Manchester and London Heathrow.

I believe TUI could not fulfil the flights due to a lack of availability with their Dreamliner fleet. We flew on a Virgin Airbus 330 from Manchester to Antigua and back. Very pleasant flight with good service
