Hi, I requested a status match last weekend but haven’t heard anything and didn’t get an acknowledgement email or anything. I haven’t sailed with MSC before but I am diamond on RCCL. looking to book a last min cruise so would like it to be matched if I do..

Unless you have an unusually late fight out of Milan (Malpensa) you can't do it. The fastest way to get there is by car, about four to four and a half hours. That means if you can be off the ship at 6:30 you'd be at the airport 10:30 - 11:00. That means a flight time no earlier than 1:30 or 2 PM.
By train you really can't get there before noon, which means a flight after 2:30 or 3 PM.
Pisa is a little closer, about a three to three and a half hour drive. Train isn't realistic to Pisa, too many changes.
You could be at the Rome airport (FCO) by 12:37 by train, that might be a possibility for a late flight. Driving to Rome isn't realistic.
Thanks, apologies I should have said we are flying back to the UK so there are flights in the afternoon and evening.
Milan looks closer by train than Rome does when I’ve been looking? Coming up at 3hr 15 from Ravenna station compared to over 4hrs to Rome.

Hi please could you provide feedback about flying back from Milan. We are looking at this cruise but need to fly back the same day we get off the ship and have limited options / don’t want to pay some of the high prices. We are looking at flying into Bologna but flying back there isn’t a flight that day. Hope you have/had a lovely trip!

Hopefully there have been some Folks from the UK that have cruised out of the US since November that can confirm what has been accepted in the way of testing. When I spoke to a RCI rep on the phone last week they said that if the test was good enough to enter the USA it should be good to get on our ships but I wanted this confirmed in writing.
I probably will still try to get a test in either Walgreens or CVS as an insurance just in case.
Did you find out anymore on this? We are due to travel in a week but have a week in Orlando beforehand and not sure what to do about the tests!

We booked Saturday for end of April cruise on symphony and had been allocated a room by Monday! Was super quick!

Loving your thread! We have just booked Symphony for end of April. Have done Allure and Harmony before but have treated ourselves to UDP too this cruise so this is perfect! Thank you. Did you plan out before you boarded where you wanted to eat and when or did you just fit in with what was available? (Trying to work out how much pre planning to do!).

I asked about this on our sailing on the epic (first one back) and the cruise next woman didn’t know what I was talking about! So doesn’t appear it’s on all sailings!

With regards to the tests we have to do up to 72 hours before we sail (not the ones done by NCL). Are people doing antigen or PCR tests?
We are in Barcelona for just over a day before the cruise and so were going to get tests done just before we leave the UK either at the airport or on the way as there aren’t many in clinic test centres near us. Antigen is cheaper and would give us quicker results but not sure if should just go for a PCR instead? We don’t need the results for arrival into Spain but obviously would be there if we then did get a positive result. So would be interested to see what everyone else was doing?

They must be reading this, called within 4 minutes?
Oooo what did they say? If the rules change with regards to UK and Italy on quarantine will they also change their rules by the 5th?

We are back on👐😁
Glad it’s back up - was worried there for a minute!

Our flights from the UK have just been moved/changed. We were due to fly out Friday night to Barcelona but looks like they have combined the Friday and Saturday flights together on the Saturday night now. Not sure whether to go with someone else and fly in Friday night still or at least Saturday morning but then think could it be a sign and means less chance to catch COVID in Barcelona before boarding (although I was looking forward to the Saturday there!)
I assume that it’s due to lack of uptake on the flights. Hopefully nothing happens with the flight home although neither flight is currently coming up on the website (Vueling). Just glad the cruise wasn’t leaving on the Saturday!

Mine didn’t disappear though they are expensive, not really worth it, the prices and availability in all grades increased today?
Just been on to look and looks like it’s disappeared again off the website again now for the 5th. Rome is still there from the 8th.

Have they reinstated your upgrade bids yet?
No, I reinstated them myself. I don’t hold out much hope though. I did notice my original ones were in USD, once they got cancelled and I did them again they were in GBP so I wonder if that was the issue? My PCC never called me back though nor responded to my email.

I saw a post on Facebook this morning regarding Royal Caribbean and Harmony of the Seas sailings that visit Italian ports. It says on the first few sailings (they start in august) that guests from certain countries (including the UK) are not allowed due to the current Italian quarantine requirements! I hope that doesn’t happen on NCL. They are also making guests take only RCCL excursions when going ashore.
-
Sorry I meant 5th Sept, that’s the first sailing of the epic (or was meant to be anyway!)
-
Just had my upgrade bids all cancelled on the epic on the 5th due to “changes in my reservation”. I really hope a cancellation of the cruise email isn’t what comes next! 😞
-
Hi, glad you have booked! We are also on the epic on the 5th.
I agree that it isn’t very clear on what is happening with Italy but with everything changing so frequently I reckon any guidance would soon be out of date whatever they said.
We are arriving on the 3rd so based on current guidelines would need to do a PCR the Thursday afternoon earliest in the UK to cover us for getting on the ship.
I am still not sure how it will work with Italy but if I am honest I will just be happy to get away and if we ended up not being able to get off at some of the ports then it wouldn’t be the complete end of the world. I’ve so far tried not to plan too much as didn’t want to be disappointed if we didn’t go but not sure when to start looking into port activities a bit more!

Grant Shapps just tweeted that the ban on international cruising is being lifted 😀
Great news!

I’m annoying myself by looking at prices on my med cruise after final payment. Prices dropped after final payment (60 days out) and have now dropped again 45 days out. Seems like they aren’t getting much uptake as they are now over 30% lower than when I booked! So definitely some deals to be had if you can book last minute!

We are on the 5th September the first Epic cruise so I will let you know?
We are on it too! I was looking forward to the ‘no masks’ as they had advertised but I suppose what will be will be and a lot can still change before then!

So I had exactly the same thing so I asked on online chat and was told it was for the week. I can only assume the two dates were a glitch as there are two embarkation ports - Barcelona and Rome as the dates coincided with those days. I am hoping everything will be open.

Has anyone booked any entertainment lately? I thought it was 90 days out but we are now less than that for our September 5th Epic sailing and nothing has opened up yet. I have been able to book dining from the 120 day mark.
