I totally agree about Robtad's!! I read of the 8 or 9 different tours that they offer in Colon and decided that viewing the old and new locks were at the top of my list - not to mention not wanting to spend hours and hours in the hot, humid weather waiting to go thru!! So, we decided to do their Tour 1 of both the old and new locks, with the hope of seeing a ship go through.
I emailed Robtad's and the owner Roberto Whitaker responded and thus began our correspondence as various Cruise Critic folks joined my tour!
Our tour began on time with Mr. Whitaker being our guide. Other personnel of his were assigned to other tours with his company. He did not push or rush anyone; he answered every question thoroughly; was determined that every guest was satisfied with every aspect of our tour; and left everyone on awe of the great tour! We were able to watch shops go through BOTH locks and Mr Whitaker explained exactly what was occurring every step of the way.
Although this tour was marked for 3 hours, it lasted for 5 hours because he wanted us to get the full experience. This tour literally blew everyone's mind!
Mr. Whitaker's first language is English and his clear booming voice was easily heard!
In addition, Simone, our bus driver, can thread a huge bus thru a needle, I am convinced!
You cannot do better than Robtad's - especially with Roberto Whitaker leading!!

I think the most important snorkel item you should bring is the mouthpiece section. I have witnessed how some tours wash them...just MHO.

Cruizinfools, I got the detailed email from Roberto and have posted it for our Roll Call. We really are interested in the same tour that you did, except now the locks are finished so the description is old! No ptoblem!

BillB48 and cruzinfools, thank you for your prompt replies! I am sending another email again. I will again use his "robtads2@hotmail.com" address as I did the first time.

We are cruising Celebrity Equinox in November and looking at this excursion on George Town. Can anyone tell me their opinion of this tour? Thanks.

Wish I could find a good hat! My head is sort of small and most hats sink clear down to my ear tops! Thanks to everyone for the links to hats you like!

CAFÉ al BACIO!!!
This is my favorite place on Celebrity ships! The Ceylon Gold iced tea is truly crisp, cold, and refreshing! I always have my husband share it as it makes an entire pitcher! Everything is soooooooo good! We are cruising at the end of November, so have to wait a while! Drat!!!

Hi, Travelgeek83! I just found your post regarding the second day tour on Segways! We love doing Segways. Please tell me more about that tour, if you made it.

Lulurobby, we did tiny window view, then balcony several times, then lucked into a special Sky Suite and found Blu! Now we go Aqua!! You won't regret upgrading to a balcony, in my humble opinion! Enjoy!

We did the land tour (M-F) then boarded the Millennium on Friday for the week cruise. It was great!! The land was by bus and train. You should love it!!
We plan to go again and spend more time on the land tour. Alaska is breathtaking!!!

Wondering if eltigre can tell me what mask her husband uses for snorkeling that works with his beard. I got my husband to try it once, but the water poured into his mask because of his beard. Now he refuses to do it because he thinks he will have to shave his beard off!
Hopefully we can try again...I really enjoyed it that one time.

SeeJennyCruise, where are you sailing in November that you keep talking about not being warm?
-
We first sailed on Silhouette in March of 2013 and absolutely loved the ship, the food, and ALL of the crew. Our prior cruises were on Norwegian and Silhouette just blew us away. That's why we are once again sailing her this March!
I have read the reviews from those who sailed on Silhouette this year (2015) and must say I am feeling a little dejected at the apparent lowering of their standards. That said, we are once again going to the Western Caribbean but do not plan to go ashore very much. We are looking forward to really enjoying the ship and truly relaxing!!
Did I read that there is a get-together on board for Cruise Critic people like us? If so, I would love to know when and where!
We are going Aqua Class this time and planning on checking out Blu. Humm, wonder how that will turn out.... Maybe we'll see some of you there!

Anyone done the Chocolate Seaside Workshop Excursion?
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
We did that same Chocolate making in December thru the ship and it was great! Bought several unique chocolate bars in shops near the pier and have been gently eating them back at home. We highly recommend this!!
We also did the Tequila Tasting - through the ship - and learned sooooo much about Tequila!! Next time we go to Cozumel we plan on doing it again. It's very, very informational, not a drunken spree like some of the ones posted on YouTube!!
