  1. They are not noisy. We have been in the L shaped on 3 cruises on Freedom. The negative is you don't have a couch, only a chair. But they usually have a lounger on the balcony.

The stairway is for crew. Also, it can be used during the Muster Drill. We never heard anyone on the stairs at night.

  2. Booked a Balcony Guarantee during the 24 Hour Sale on October 31st on the Glory with with a 2/28 departure date. Got my assignment today, 24 days from sailing. Got a cabin on the Starboard side towards the Aft of the ship on the Empress deck. Cabins above and below. Got a great deal and a great location. We are happy cruisers.

  3. When ordering at Guy's make sure you tell them you want Gluten Free. The Fries are normally made in a fryer that can have cross contamination. They will make you a fresh batch in a separate fryer.

Also, you can get scrambled eggs or omelettes made at the omelet station with fresh eggs. The regular egg mix does contain gluten so make sure you order those with fresh eggs.

  4. We were on the Freedom last September and did the Jolly Pirates in Aruba. We made sure that we were one of the first off at 8:00 am and caught a taxi for about a 10-15 minute ride to The Jolly Pirates. Made it with plenty of time to spare.

When returning, you need to walk to the hotel next door to catch a return taxi. Takes a little bit longer for the return trip, but you shouldn't have a problem getting back.

This is a great excursion, so have fun!

  5. For breakfast, get your eggs at the omelet station, and make sure they use fresh eggs. The egg mix that they use for scrambled eggs has gluten in it, so you can't have the eggs on the buffet.
