  1. Just got off the Mardi Gras for the Ultra Cruise.

Not the Ultra we were used to in years past.

Gift giveaway was the same. but no cocktails except cheap champagne.

No welcome party with the hosts that used to have cocktails and food.

    No sparkling wine to cabin.

    No chocolates, strawberries to room.

One gift to both players in the room, three pairs of socks.

    Kind of disappointing.

  2. Went on July 10 Horizon.

    Casino was great!

However, tobacco smoke in casino was horrible!!!!!

    Anything goes with the smokers.

They smoked everywhere in casino. Gambling or not. Many just hang around and smoke.

No enforcement by staff on smoking rules.

When they removed the bar from casino atrium they sealed off the ceiling above it. (plexiglass)The smoke has nowhere to go now.

They only relief was go in the early hours.

    Staff and ship were great.

And it was a great cruise.

  3. Done many Ultras.

Decided to pass on this one.

Reason, too many invites, no space at slots or table games, too many smokers.

Price of cruise way too much to cover the free play they give.

  4. Carnival used to be our go to cruise line to gamble.

But, they make us pay for the room.

Premiers are nice but gifts have been junk.

And still have to pay for the room!

Tried RCCL and NCL last year really like them.

    Royal is the best .

    Free rooms and drinks.

NCL is a little less generous.

Tried Celebrity, never again . The casino sweats the money and it shows.

When will Carnival start giving back some free rooms for players?

  5. Celebrity Solstice is $ 10 min. On craps.

    3, 4 , 5 odds.

    New rules in effect.

Both dice must hit wall, and only the back zone rubber area. Or it is a no roll. Ramp hits are also a no roll.

Table now has iron rods bolted to the stick area and go pro cameras on each end to watch the players.

    Not much action for craps.

  6. The Spirit is a well designed older ship. She is well maintained and is one of the cleanest ships I have ever been on.

    Housekeeping crew is A+.

    Entertainment was outstanding, great shows!

Main dining rooms are beautiful. Some dining room staff were not well trained and led to some poor service dinners. Others are outstanding.

Food was overall not up the US NCL ships .

Lack of taste, and overcooking items were a regular occurrence.

As a culinary trained professional , the menu is geared towards low cost food items.

Shore excursions were very well organized.

A great base of operations for such a port intensive trip.

  7. Can you confirm what I have seen on these boards previously, are there no craps tables on MSC ships? (at least the one/one's you have been on).

    Thank you

I will do my one upcoming cruise on the Seaside.

The deliberate omission of a craps table on a USA based ship is ridiculous.

    Get smart MSC.

You will make your casino players very disappointed.
