  1. Did carryon for my 1st cruise and all cruises going forward - its not as hard as one thinks, just use a big backpack to hold your toiletries especially hair products, a carryon duffel bag to hold all your clothes and a separate purse to hold your documents/ wallet / whatnot . 2nd cruise, I did checked-in; NEVER AGAIN - the wait was too long and when I got it back, the handle was broken....

Thanks for sharing your experience! I have also ended up with broken/damaged luggage when it was checked-in. I never liked lugging around that big monster of a suitcase either {in between checking it in!} LOL!

I'm thinking of packing extra light this time, many times I have taken so many things I never used or needed during the trip/cruise...

  2. I have observed some ladies walk out of the restroom without washing hands. Then touch the restroom door...

I sometimes wonder about HOW many people touched that buffet serving spoon as they passed through the buffet line, then eat a roll, fruit, french fries, etc...

Hopefully, the serving spoon didn't fall into the food....sometimes I see this happen.

Every buffet I ever go to, I always use a napkin to grab the serving utensil...plus, I make another trip to the restroom to wash my hands before eating.

  3. Besides carrying around hand sanitizer, I also take lysol wipes (for the cabin or hotel room) and anti-bacterial hand wipes in my carry-on.

Love those WISPS!! They are the best thing for traveling away from your (hotel/cabin) room...small discreet little disposable toothbrushes with a dab of toothpaste. Now, I don't need to be taking my toothbrush and toothpaste to port with me. :)

Don't forget nail clippers and tweezers either!
