This is a size 10 dress that was worn in a wedding; one of the rhinestones is missing from the strap, but it could probably be replaced and honestly isn't very noticeable ...

It's a very modest cut so it would probably be really cute for a tween :)

The top is satiny and the bottom is crepe? The brand is Alfred Angelo. It could be dry cleaned as it has been in the garage for awhile.

The first is a Jr's size 4. It is bright hot pink and black - much brighter than the pictures show. It was worn a few times but never altered...

It does have some loose/missing beads; and we have long lost the piece of ribbon that laced up the back - but you could always buy a new one at a craft store, and the missing beads shouldn't be a big deal, really. It probably could be dry-cleaned, as it was stored in the garage.

 

It should fold up small so it should be easy to ship and pack :)

I have seen lots of skirted swim suits this season. Are they for all ages or are they mainly for the more mature women? I think they are cute' date=' but I don't want to look dowdy. I'm only 41.

I got a pair of cute "retro" halter swim suits that are rouched all over and though they do not have true "skirts" the rouching does come down over the thighs almost to the level of the crotch. The whole thing makes for an updated version of an "old Hollywood" look. Best of all, it doesn't sag or drip when wet. I ordered them from Spiegel and love them.

 

I have a ton of swimsuits, including two like TaoDiva described, and also one that is a tankini top with skirted bottom.

 

I'm only 26 so I don't think either is an "old" look :) Of course, there are some that do look matronly, but I think there are plenty of younger styles too.

Margie, it is really a gorgeous dress, I wore it once for a pageant and then my sister wore it, and its just been hanging there for years. It was almost $500 new and I thought, what a waste to keep hanging onto it when someone could be enjoying this gown. I hope you love it :)

Oh Paula... You cannot make a beautiful young lady to wear an old lady dress. I thought the dress was for you.

I don't think the red looks "old lady" at all.... trust me, the one shouldered look is huge right now! I think it looks lovely on her :)

I was only 17 when I wore the turquoise dress, so I think it's definitely age appropriate :) Granted, that was ten years ago LOL

I think both gowns look very cute :)

To say a huge thank you to Erinphae, and Porthopper2009, I received the dress that were sent, and I have to say my daughter is in 7th Heaven There is a dress the Erin sent that is a tad small on her hips, she is a dancer so the hips and thighs are bigger then most tweens.

It has black/pewter beads around the neckline and on the two straps in back. It also has a small fishtail train. It is missing it's snaps at the neck, they could be easily/cheaply replaced. This one could probably be dry cleaned as well.

Hi friends!

Two more dresses; these are a little older (from my freshman year of high school) but I think still very pretty...and hey, you can't beat free + a tiny bit of shipping, right? LOL

This first one is a Juniors size Medium (I'd say 4/6ish) royal blue, with royal, lime, and dark green iridescent beaded chevron stripes. (I used my iPhone so the pictures don't quite show the color).

Like I said, the beads have an iridescent shine to them but the phone photographed the colors strangely: they are royal, dark green, & lime.

It does have a few small flaws that I think would be easy DIY fixes:

Tear in strap + one strap needs reattached to the back.

The second is a Juniors size 8 silver with silver and pearl beading:

Both gowns were bought new and worn a few times for pageants, dances, etc. Neither gown has been altered. There are a few beads missing here and there, but I think both are in GREAT condition to be older gowns, and can definitely still get some wear. Maybe for your teen?

I am new to posting (and cruising)! This is a really great idea, so I thought I'd offer up two gowns I have just hanging in the closet, maybe someone could use them?

They are from my sorority/college days but are in good condition.

If anyone has a tween/teen cruising with them I think these would be perfect! Although I think they're great for anyone

The first is a juniors size 3/4 stretchy gown with all-over glitter. It is actually a turquoise color, brighter than the pic shows (cell phone pics) . I think since its stretchy it could maybe fit a 5/6 or even a 1/2?

The back has a "ladder" design and then ties.

The second is black with a gold glitter design on it, and is a juniors size 2. This dress doesn't have any stretch to it at all, though.

Both were bought new and neither gown has had any alterations.
