Going on the Pearl. Its not that bad. Have been on worse. If you can go on the old Fairstar or Pacific Sun [ which by the way we loved] you can go on any P&O ship. LOL
-
Back on P&O in October. Haven't been on the Pearl for a while. Just going to lay back and veg out. I wonder who is CD. I know Zoltina is on the Dawn. Willie is on a break. Hope it is Gemma if we can't have Zoltina. Lol

In August we went on the Jewel and yes all people sharing the same cabin have to get the drinks package if on person chooses to have it. Unless this has changed? One of our friends wanted to purchase it and was told both of them had to pay. This is the Alcohol package.
-
Bianco Parties mean everyone dresses in white. Same deal as Island nights. Dancing on pool deck. Last cruise we went on in August only a minority dressed in school uniforms. It is a bit of a change but the same happens on all nights. Dancing and drinking LOL.

Just came off Voyager and it was a wonderful ship. The food in the restaurant was mostly inedible and the choice poor. RCL needs to look at this as the Buffet food was so good compared to their fine dining. Such a shame.

Will be on the Jewel next week and received the usual welcome letter. Zoltina will be CD on this cruise.

It doesn't matter what time they say. Every time we go we just line up, get our number and board. And it is always about 12.00. Have a great time

We have been to both ports. Lifou much more than Mare. I just heard last time on Lifou that if you get off the tender and go to the right there is a lovely little beach. Safe for kids. Also talking to parents, P&O have the best kids club on the high seas. Hope you have a great time. PS Much prefer the Dawn. My preference.

It's not the stage productions I don't like it's the same old guest entertainers. LOL
-
I am fed up with the same entertainers being on board P&O every cruise we go on. It's time for them to look at some new blood. Same old, Same old. Finding it very hard to find things to do at night as we have seen them all.

If you haven't come across Willie Lee as yet, you are in for a very big surprise. He is absolutely fabulous. We had him on the Jewel once and were so impressed. When we asked where he had gone, nobody would answer. It is great he is back. I would go on a cruise just to see him again. One of the best.

We have just come off another cruise line. Missed two ports, were a day late leaving. Had to pay for our own accommodation in Sydney. They had One Direction, Katie Perry and the Arias on in Sydney. Very hard to find anything and most of Sydneys people put up the cost of the accommodation accordingly. We received some compensation. I think you will find in the small print of your contract, that you can only put in a claim if the ship breaks down. On another occasion P&O paid for our accommodation, gave us vouchers and supplied all our meals when their ship had problems. The joys of cruising. LOL. It all adds up to the experience. We are off again in one and a half weeks. It didn't put us off.

Well it can't be any worse than where the NSW GOV put their terminal. Right in the middle of nowhere. Nowhere to stay, nowhere to have a coffee, and more expensive in transport to and from the airport.
-
We were on in early feb and it was Gemma. She is great.
-
Hi, it doesn't matter how many cruises you do the excitement is always there. We are going on the 17th of Feb and I still get very excited. Have a great cruise and don't become a cruise tragic like us. LOL

Maxi Cab cost us $83 from Airport but normal station wagon with 4 people and luggage cost $50. All fitted , 1 big suitcase each and 3 onboard suitcases between us. PLENTY OF ROOM.

I have done many P&O cruises and got back last week off the jewel. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. She has gone downhill since we were last on her. I can't put my finger on why, it just was. Overall we had a great time but not for the entertainment or the food. They were not up to the usual standard. We had good company which made the trip more enjoyable. Staff was down. Poor cabin stewards have 20 cabins to do on their own. It was our 4th trip on her and probably our last.
The Pearl was far superior. We were on her 3 weeks prior. P&O need to lift their game. And yes we have been on many different cruise lines and we can compare.
-
We have just been on the Jewel. The CD on her was Alun. We didn't see too much of him . Really disappointing. Believe me Zoltina is much better than him. But I must say when Alun sang he had the voice of an angel. Just three weeks before this cruise we were on the Pearl. Gemma was our CD. Fabulous. Rory was on her team and he was great too. The best CD we ever had on all our 16 P&O cruises was Willie. P&O let him go and I believe he is on Carnival Spirit. Lucky them.

Yes we are coming in from the Airport. Taxi it will have to be. I just wondered if anyone had hired a minibus or something like that from airport. It is hard to get 6 people in a taxi. LOL Will a maxicab get 6 people and luggage in. Otherwise it will have to be 2 taxis.
Who was the idiot who thought out where the best place to have a Terminal was? It will cost Sydney in the long run, people who used to stay overnight close to Wharf 8 now will fly in on the same day as there is nowhere to stay close to the new terminal. This will be the first time in many cruises we fly in on the same day. Obviously tourism is not high on their agenda. We will enjoy the cruise anyway.
-
I just wondered if P&O are now leaving from a different Terminal than where we have left previously. We have always left from Darling Harbour but by the blogs it seems they have changed docking terminals. I know they were planning on going to another area but didn't think they had already moved. We are not going till November so it leaves us plenty of time to organise transfers. Does anyone have any ideas. There is 6 of us to transfer with luggage.

Hi just thought i would let you know the Iibis Pit street is walking distance to the ship. Have done it unseen times. No darling harbour view though.
-
Got off the Jewel 2 weeks ago and noticed the Table waiter carrying a bottle of wine with someones name on it. Thought it was ours. So check but I think they are still holding bottles out the back for people.
-
Been on deck five. Great location. Quiet. Close to everything. You will love it. Have a great cruise.

We were in Noumea on a Sunday and everything was closed. I don't know why the cruise ships insist on going on a Saturday or Sunday if nothing is open. They could change the itinery accordingly and do Noumea on another day. At least the Tour people still opened up.
P & O Loyalty program
in P&O Cruises ( Australia )
Posted
We love princess because of their loyalty program. Free laundry is the best. Going home with clean clothes is great. The mini bar is another plus. We are just about Diamond on RCL. Their program is not as good. Just to get specialty coffees will be a benefit. I spoke to the commodore of the P&O fleet a couple of years ago and he said there wasn't any sign in the future they would offer a loyalty program in Australia.
