  1. I’m trying to find posts about tipping on MSC, but we’re on the ship(!) and the search function is a little slow. I’m looking for input from veteran MSC folks, what is your experience, what would you advise? Thank you! 🛳️

In onboard too, probably has to do with the hurricane over the Bahamas. I’m okay with the change, Nassau is fun but Roatan is very very beautiful and nice

We are happy with the change. As for the storm, there is a bullseye painted on our house, so prayers for our daughter and grandson who are holding down the fort.

  3. We are currently on Meraviglia, Yacht Club, first time, and things have gone well. It is very apparent that the ship is nowhere near capacity. However, we have been told that Yacht Club is almost full. I would not want to do less than a 7 days, therefore cruising less. We have found that no matter the cruise line, the 3 day cruises are often a gaggle.

  4. We are on the Meraviglia Nov 6 and received a text from MSC that said “Begin Check-in Time: 10:30AM End Check-in time: 11:00AM. Does that mean we can go to the ship (not necessarily board) at 10:30-11:00? Veteran cruisers but first time on MSC. Thanks!

  5. We are on the November 6 sailing of the Meraviglia. We have reservations at the Butcher’s Cut that evening. What is the dress code for that dining room? We want to board dressed for dinner in case our luggage is late to the cabin. This is our first MSC cruise.

    Thanks!

  6. Embarkation was a breeze - we were on by 11:00. However, debarkation today was horrible. This is our 5th time on the Fascination (9th Carnival cruise) and we have never experienced such chaos. It's always been kind of jumbled, but for whatever reason, today was awful. We do self-assist, live in the Jacksonville area and we're never in a rush, but we're usually home (and I'm doing laundry) by 10:30 a.m. I don't know what happened today, but it was not pleasant.

  7. The suites on the Verandah deck are the ones with the tiny balconies.

I would never never, never, never, never...book one of those..never!!;)

DH and I had a verandah "suite" two years ago. The cabin was fine. The "balcony" was dreadful. So small. No way we could both sit out there. Never again!!!

  8. We had the Owner's Suite on the Fascination from September 1 to September 6. Because we were traveling with family, we decided to go for it. Been called about it twice before and always turned it down. Did we enjoy it? Yes. It is lovely, nicely decorated and the bathroom is fabulous. Would we do it again? No. It was certainly worth the $1,700 we paid because we used it as a family gathering spot for the whole cruise. We played cards, listened to music, danced, laughed and had a great time. The downside, apart from the cost, was the noise from the deck above us (chairs and jogging), plus the suite was very warm. To keep it comfortable, we kept the curtains closed the whole time. I think if someone "gets the call" and can afford it, go for it. I am so glad we did it, loved the little bit of extra attention, but for just the two of us, the Grand Suite is perfect.
