  1. Has anyone been to Tortola lately and booked this excursion? I don't see it listed at all under Tortola so was wondering if they even do this anymore?

It came back up in the past few days under NCL shore excursions!

  2. it has been an awesome cruise to this point. This is my 17th cruise but my first in 12 years! Times and ships have changed. When we arrive home in a few days I,'lol try to post a review of my thoughts. But for today I thought I would make just a brief comment. I read this board for weeks before we boarded so I would be prepared. And I am happy to report that as of day 5, I have NOT seen any of the following: saving pool chairs. Sharing drink packages. Shorts in the dining room. People bothered by smokers. Rude staff. That's right, I have not seen any of those! Probably because I haven't looked for them. Been way too busy having a wonderful vacation with my family! Great cruise. I'll write more when I'm home.

Well said, some days when I read some of the threads on here, it takes me months to come back. People are so miserable these days! Enjoy life!!

  3. No doubt it will be more expensive on board. That $52 isn't bad since our "20% sale" has now become a "pre-cruise deal" and gone from $46 per day to $55. Still less than on board, but it jumped without warning last month for our October Oasis cruise.

We sail Oasis in October also and I keep watching the cruise planner to see if it will come down again. Last year I purchased the deluxe at 30% off on Adventure.

  4. Sailing 11/26 and unfortunately just received this;

    ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS

In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, a devastating storm that affected the Bahamas, the country continues its recovery efforts. Our thoughts are with those affected by the storm.

Adventure of the Seas, the ship on which you’ve booked your vacation, is scheduled for renovation in Freeport, Bahamas during October and November. Due to extensive damage incurred at the shipyard and the global rerouting of cargo ships carrying equipment and materials, the original renovation plan has been modified.

In an effort to create the least amount of disruption to your vacation plans, Adventure of the Seas will re-enter service on November 14th, 2016 as originally planned. Throughout the ship, you will notice an updated design and décor, as well as newly renovated areas such as Boleros Latin lounge and the two-story mini golf course.

Unfortunately, the following features will not be available for your cruise:

    • Dual Racer water slides

    • FlowRider surf simulator

    • Splashaway Bay kids’ aqua park

    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Does this mean the FLOWRIDER and other water features will not be put on the ship even by NEXT YEAR by Thanksgiving week? We are already booked then, with our grandkids because of the potential addition of the flowrider, etc.

  5. We are sailing on AOS on the Nov 14th sailing, right after dry dock. I am having a difficult time understanding that all these delays on the refib are related to the Hurricane. She supposedly entered dry dock on Oct 16th, the Hurricane passed by Freeport around Oct 8th. I live in Orlando and was in Cocoa Beach the very next weekend. Not much damage at all.

I do understand they may have had more effect, but to delay all that was delayed.

  6. Glad to hear that. I didn't realize we are on the first cruise after dry dock until I had already booked. However, we will be cruising which is much better than not, so all is good.

I could not agree more. We are also on the Nov 14 sailing. I have read the same about the renovations being made to the AOS. I am looking forward to her upgrades and I am sure that RCCL will have everything under control..

  7. We booked a resort for a day. It was an all inclusive resort on the beach. They picked us up and took us on a 30-45 minute ride to the resort to hang out for the day. We went in the water, and hung out at the swim up bar overlooking the ocean. They had delicious jerk chicken for lunch as well as a drink or two or three or eleventy-seven or something. They then took us back and dropped us inside the fence and we made our way slowly back to the ship, stopping along the way to shop a little and try a beef patty, etc...

    Good times.

Which resort did you go to and did you use an excursion/tour company?
