Was your cruise itinerary such that you had to clear immigration at the pier in San Juan?

Yes, we also had to clear immigration at the pier in San Juan and submit our declaration card.

I have seen several folks asking about early flights out of San Juan after a cruise and wanted to provide some details from our experience. We were concerned that a flight with Southwest at 9:55 am would be pushing it.

We were on Carnival Fascination with an arrival time of 7:00 last Sunday. We arrived to the port on time and was the first off the ship at 7:30. We took a taxi to the airport. We went through the agriculture check and then checked our luggage at the Southwest counter. Stopped by the rest rooms and was at gate B5 by 8:15. Plenty of time to spare.
