I read the whole thing. You book UDP, then you book a specific restaurant and time knowing that you will cancel that booking. This way, if the person standing in front of you in line on boarding day wants that restaurant and time, they cant have it because you booked it knowing you were going to cancel and covert. I know life is not fair, and most people dont care, but is that fair to the person in front of you.
I disagree. She kept the same time slot, it was her money that was tied up in the paid reservation when she also had purchased the UDP. This is a situation that was created by RCCL by not allowing people to make those UDP reservations before the cruise. Anyone could do this same exact thing.

I was on Liberty last week and thought the main dining room food was good (not great, but good) and I was stuffed every night. There were definitely places for improvement, like the baked goods at breakfast were all very dry and bland. Blueberry muffins usually only had one or two blueberries in them and very dry. Those things they pass off as donuts were a joke. I know it's hard to feed that many people, but really. Sorrentos pizza was absolutely awful, IMHO. If you want cruise food the way it once was, then I suggest paying a bit extra and eating at the specialty restaurants. They have several dining package that bring the cost down to reasonable. We did not pay for the optional dining options, because we have three kids and main dining room is just easier for us at this time. Someday when it's just my husband and I we will dine at the specialty restaurants.

When did you sign up for the class? We leave on LOS in 3 weeks. It is $30 each on the Cruise Planner.
We signed up on board, on the first day. I'll see if I can find the receipt but I'm 99% sure I paid $44 for the both of them.

My girls did it this past week on Liberty and it was less (I paid $22 each for my two girls and they decorated three cupcakes each....a lion,a monkey and a chick. They had a blast, and the guy who teaches the class is adorable. All of their classes were full!

BBC--Bailey's Banana Colada.

Vidalia Onion Tart.
Is that back? I thought it went away?

Agreed and I really want to spend my $$ on some beverage packages today! Stupid website.

No. The worst impacts in any tropical storm or hurricane in the Northern Hemisphere are in the right front quadrant east of the eyewall.
That's right. I'm easily confused! I meant east of Houston.

20 miles east is sooo much better than 20 miles west.
Absolutely! Most of the bad stuff will be west of where the center hits land.

Wow that's impressive!

We had it for the first time last summer on Liberty. I had no complaints! I did make reservations but we tend to eat fairly early. Most of our reservations were for around 6:00-6:45. We had the same table/waitstaff every night. I would imagine it's different if you don't make reservations and just show up.

We took our honeymoon cruise on Monarch back in 1994. Thanks for sharing!

I may have been the main instigator on that complaint. I have been told by someone I trust that the problem no longer exists.
If it does, go to GS, notify them and they will adjust the door.
Personally, I don't like promenade cabins. One and done for us

It didn't bother us last summer. We're booked in this room again for our upcoming sailing. :D

Ha, I knew someone would ask why I would buy bottles when I already had the package. I'm trying to avoid buying a second package. I am also not a super heavy drinker, but do like a glass of wine or two with dinner depending on the night. My husband likes mixed drinks, so he could probably get pretty close to breaking even with the drink package. So if we're being honest and not sharing the drink package (which is my goal), I'm asking to see how a bottle discount might help me get a few discounted drinks under my belt or even allow us to share with my parents who will be with us.
And yes, I plan on bringing my two bottles on, but we are on a 12 day cruise.
Hopefully it makes sense what I'm trying to ask. I'm trying to avoid buying two drink packages, and instead use the bottle discount to help us save a little bit. You may have answered my question Swoopy, you can share discounted bottles then?
I never though about that but it makes perfect sense if you mostly drink wine. I can imagine that a drink package on a 12 day cruise is $$$$$$!

I suspect that some lucky dog is enjoying your nice tequila and thinking what a score they got. Yes, they gave it to the wrong person, that person also kept quiet and walked off with your bottle instead of doing the right thing.
That's what I think too! Or a crew member is enjoying it.

I enjoyed this review! We live just north of Houston and this summer we'll take our second cruise on Liberty. I agree that it's not the perfect cruise, but still relaxing and enjoyable.

Ports:
Nassau-I downloaded a walking tour and we walked in the rain and thunderstorm. We talked to people on board that had snorkling tours that cancelled because of the lightening.
St Thomas- We rented a car and went to Saphire Beach, Meagans Bay and Mountain Top. It was a good day.
St Kitts- again we walked around town for a couple of hours. Next time we will go to the beach but we were beached out.
Is Mountain Top the place with the banana daiquiris? I've been there but don't remember much;p

Thank you I've been wondering about that too! The wings look pretty good...I will need to order more than one order though!:D

We sailed Liberty last summer and loved it so much that we booked the exact same itinerary for this summer. Our family alternates between Disney World and cruises because those are the things we can all agree on. :) The younger kids and the teenager all had a blast (didn't see the teen much, lol) and my husband and I enjoy the drink package.
We do live about 30 miles north of Houston, and it's nice to just drive down to Galveston and hop on a cruise ship.
We're considering Vision in January for a short getaway.

When my family of five goes to our favorite local Mexican place we get out for around $80.00 including our jumbo margaritas. I'll pass on Sabor at this price.

Maybe it's running the coarse of the "Honey Stung Chicken" that used to be the talk.....
I miss the honey stung chicken! What they have by that name now is not the same thing.

this fascinates me.. is it this way on land too. do people eat lunch at different times than me? i cannot imagine eating at a typical 1130 to 1230 slot then waiting until 730. my ribs would begin showing :)
plus if you stuff your face and are one to go to bed early by 10, thats just too much food.
We are also a family of early eaters! My husband eats breakfast at 5 am and when he arrives home at 4:00 in the afternoon he's starving and wants dinner. On cruises, I book our MTD reservations based on whether it is a sea day or port day, but the latest we ever eat is around 6:45 or 7:00.

My husband and I both buy a package, why shouldn't you? I can't imagine sneaking around the entire cruise, trying to get drinks for two people off of one package without being noticed. We pay for it and consider it part of the price of the trip.

We cruised in June and I don't think it was as bad as people are making it out to be. It was "fine", but not really memorable. The only thing I remember thinking I wanted more of was the crab cake appetizer. Other than that, there was nothing memorable. It's not what it once was but it's fine.
