  1. Cheers, Tim. I'm on Sinfonia in 11 days so I'll be checking it out. Did you notice if there were long queues at the machines following embarkation? I would imagine if people were having problems that it would cause quite a delay :(

Still, it's good to see MSC implementing changes and constantly improving the product. If this innovation leads to quicker and less stressful embarkation procedures then - great! So far, there hasn't been any negative feedback, though it's early days yet. As it hasn't been introduced on Divina, yet, we won't get much comment here. It'll be interesting to see the reaction when it is brought in. :D

first line is check-inn where they thoroughly checked passports cruiseticket etc. then through douane and by stepping up on board you have to hand over the ticket then they make a picture of you do an quick face search if you're not wanted. and then you can go to your cabin!! if you can get there early there are no lines, they begin boarding at 11 oçlock. after15.00 uur there were lines!!!

  2. On our Christmas cruise on Fantasia and May cruise on Splendida the machines were present - they were easy to use and no problems here either.

There were no queues. Obviously if there is a lot of people embarking at once, there may be a bit of a queue. There were ample machines though.

On Armonia there were also a lot of machines to book a theatre slot - I'm not entirely sure on the purpose as you don't reserve an actual seat and no one checks your reservation - I wonder if it's more something to make you stick to one particular show and spread the crowds out?

On the sinfonia they scanned our cruiscard at the entrance and when it was full you didn't get in (happend my daughter and son in law one evening)

  3. It was introduced very recently on Med cruises. Mikesa had posted about the announcement which was made on an Italian MSC website (I think) and that same day another poster mentioned in a review that they'd experienced it. Apologies to those concerned ............. I can't remember offhand who they are - I'd have to search the forum; but I'm chilling for the evening so I'll pass on that.

Yes, we were surprised at it, you find your cruiecard waiting in your cabin and need to go with it to the 3 machines standing around the reception to activate them! So don't go standing in the line at reception as we did and then find out! On Sinfonia you also have to book entrance for the shows in advance.

  4. This is the first I've heard of the incident. So glad nothing serious came about as a result and everyone was unhurt. Thank you for posting - I'm on Sinfonia soon and was taken aback when I saw the thread title.

I was verry surprised that i couldn't find anything on CC, of it??

there were a lot of first time cruisers on board, perhaps that explains it?

Hope you have a wonderful time next sail on Stnfonia, animation team is great en verry funny.

  5.

During first seating on the Synfonia we were hit by a hurricane on sea beteen Ancona and Venice! We didn't believed our eyes, we saw it come roling in over te sea and then the ship hels over to the right side, it went higher and highe, everything started to fall,or glide, even sitting on a chair i had to hold on! Normally with rough sea we look at the waiters and we know we were still fine. This time even the waiters had big eyes and one of them only stuttered mamma, mamma and told us he never saw it before and he sailed a long time!

Fortunatly the Captain and his staf saved us and got us in normal position!

And confirmed the emergency situation was under controle! Never the less, the ship was a mess, but was verry fast cleaned, even high officers were taking part in it bravo!!

But our family also the other guest around us were complitely surprised and shocked, is there anyone who did make a photo or video??

A bit strange, but family won't believe us!!

All well, glad we are able to cruise again and not ended:) on the Sinfonia

  6. thank you for your review!

We only have to wait to saturday then we're making the same trip!

Our very first cruise years ago was on the older Armonia and know we are taking our kids and friends and their kids on the extended Armonia! So excited!

So there is a shuttle in Casablanca, also in Agadir?

You did it on your own, is that meaning just take a taxi outside?

  7. Hello,

we consider us verry lucky. we are upgraded from aft balkony SF to bedr family suite. :) This will be our first suite. We also like to celebrate our 25th weddinganiversary. :):) Has anyone got tipps or great idea's how to surprise DH on that day? (besides the wellknown pakage?).

We never had a butler before also.We are used to bring some small presents for our cabinsteward like Dutch cookies, local souvenir from port as soap in Marseille or parfume from Tunis. Always have nice reactions. I'm not sure if the Butler would appreciate?

Also if you ask your butler for a can of Juice and ice daily. will it be charged or is it free?

    Thankfull for any reaction!
