We are just looking at MSC Virtuosa 29th June ,we haven’t cruised with MSC before and thought we would try a short cruise in case it wasn’t to our taste ,as I have read some poor reviews as to food and entertainment .
The great selling point is to be able to sail out and back from Liverpool’s majestic waterfront. Also the UK should be fully out of lockdown by then enabling us to access ports . We will cruise further afield in the autumn if possible .My main worry is MSC are not mandating passengers have had both vaccinations .
I think those not vaccinated have to have negative PCR test before boarding, which makes it less likely you would catch it from them than the vaccinated ones.

AW ... Had a reply from Cr1 today in response to my email to them last week asking when they would be in touch regarding this cruise, here is their reply which was not what was asked! With regard to the content I doubt that anyone had received a refund for a June sailing!
Thank you for your email and apologies for the delayed response. MSC advised us that refunds from them were taking between 60-120 days to come through to us, we are starting to see some come through in the past couple of days so once these have been processed by our finance team we will be in touch as soon as we have yours available.
But MSC don't have your money. Your TA has it apart from the deposit. The TA only pays MSC after you have sailed.
PS I've had my refund, you just have to know how to put them in a position they can't get out of. I've also had my refund for the flights from Ryanair

Refund received today from Cruise 1st for our June cruise.
Very good customer relations, no argument when I asked, all done within 2 weeks.
I'll remember you when I want to book again

Just read article etc, I am about to pay a large balance for late August departure, I can't see it going ahead from Venice!
I don't want to reschedule as it's a Golden Wedding Anniversary trip so pointless another date.
How much will you lose if you just cancel. Could be worth doing that if its only going to be a couple hundred pounds because ofthe trouble people are having trying to get a refund
-
Don't know if it's been mentioned but MSC have canceled all sailings until July 10th.
That's our cruise canceled. I've already put in my claim for a refund from our travel agent.

On the news yesterday that the government have no intention of changing the law to allow holiday companies to give credit notes instead of refunds, and the regulator has said that they will be taking action against companies that refuse to issue refunds within the 14 day notice. Mind, who the regulator is I haven't a clue.

UK law doesn't apply here, as this thread is for US cruisers 😕
Sorry I thought I was on the UK thread🤦

Anyway back on track.
According to UK law they must offer you a cash refund. (Do not get this mixed up with the ABTA/ATOL suggestion that they might offer credit, this is not law) I would send them a letter before action giving them 14 days to give the refund (they must refund within 14 days by law) and then start county Court action, you must do this quickly before the law gets changed.

Are you a travel agent? My feeling aren’t hurt, just don’t like seeing people put more fear into others. Not attacking just pointing out the fact it was your opinion backed by zero facts.
Oh do shut up, you sound so childish

In most cases they want the cabin cleared by 8:30AM to get ready for the next sailing and off of the ship by 9:30AM to 10:00AM at the latest. Rent a vehicle so you have a place for your luggage. Head over to South Beach or Mary Brickell Village in downtown Miami for a nice lunch and drop off the rental at the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center around 3:00PM. Definitely no fun spending the day at MIA waiting for a late flight.
They’ll miss their flight then as they are flying out of Fort Lauderdale
-
Do not, I repeat do not leave the ship without getting It sorted no matter how long it takes

It is around £15 to £17 pp pd, the Grandiosa did have the change to the mini bar, no idea if it has carried on.
I've just been reading the lengthy thread on it, it all seemed to centre around the change for YC, not the upgrade to P+
-
I can't seem to find out prices to upgrade from Premium to Premium plus on European sailings. I think it's $17pppd in the US.
Want to see if it's worth upgrading to get Champagne and minibar included.
Also I hear that on some ships you don't get spirit replenished and they are charging for th snacks in the mini bar, do you know if this effects the Grandiosa?

Obviously you know that table games are going to give you the less points, they just do. 1,200 points will get you 30% off a cruise, and that amount isn't hard to get.
I worked out that $1 play through got 1 point. But I spent one evening playing an hour B/J at $15 a hand and got no points at all!
If the VP machines are set up anything like Vegas then you will need to play through $4 for one point.
You use your room key as a players card and keep track of the points.
We have only been on the Seaside and they didn't have craps, but did have 5 VP machines, 4 BJ tables from as little as $5 a hand, roulette, 3 card and 5 card poker.

Hi Andy -
If you're inquiring about YC day passes I've seen a few CC posts that indicate these are $100 per person per day but they don't always make those available. *cheers*

No it’s nothing to do with that, just something that I don’t want an open discussion on

Top 19 is not the YC area, it is situated forward of the smoke stacks/funnels and above the main/central pool facing forward. As to cost I have not seen it posted anywhere.
Hi Sidari,
I would like to ask you something but for some reason I'm not allowed to send messages. Could you email me please at agyoung at live dot co dot uk
Thanks

Hi. We purchased the Tryptic dining package on Seaside and Meraviglia this year. In hindsight, the food in the MDR was so good that we felt the dining package was not necessary.
Our finding exactly. We had 2 comp meals in Butchers Cut and the service was awful. There is little choice in either the fish or Oriental restaurants.
The MDR food was outstanding. Different choice everyday, with the classics available on every evening if you didn't fancy trying something new. Portions were of a good size, (I could never finish mine) and the waiters are top notch.

We're just off the Seaside, 2 weeks, must have had 100's photos taken by MSC photographers.
Decided after looking at all of them not to purchase one. They were all so photoshopped that it was laughable.
There is a way to subtly retouch photos but this was just plain silly.
Did mention to them after viewing the first lot on sea day one, but was told it was all done automatically and there was nothing they could do about it.
We had a chat with the lady that does the package where she takes photos of you around the ship then lets you view them in a room but she wasn't even confident that they could manually do anything with the raw photos.
-
We didn't bother taking any of the photos they took of us on our recent cruise. They were so photoshopped it was laughable

From the train station it’s a 5 minute walk to Ibis, my wife and 83 year old MIL did it last year each with a suitcase each. Then in the morning it’s an easy 5 minute walk to the terminal as it seems to be downhill. When you get near the terminal don’t follow the road around, there a pavement that cuts through s saving a few minutes.
