  1. We enjoy the coffees from Cafe Al Bacio

    dining in Blu

    Tuscan Grille

the Ice Bar (Martini Bar) with the fun bartenders

and my personal fav, Persian Garden on Reflection (especially the ice room)!

We used to enjoy the folk singer in the Sunset Bar, but last time there was no live music at the Sunset Bar. Celebrity, if you read this, please bring back!

Dancing the night away in the grand foyer.

  2. After spending much of the afternoon online reading reviews and emailing tour companies, I received a very nice response from one who does 4 hour tours to Anan, and if they are successful with getting permits for that day, will work with our abbreviated port time. So there is hope! The reason for making reservations so far in advance is that these are floatplane trips with limited seating, so it is important to get on their list very early. Plus, I just love all the reading, researching and planning ALMOST as much as the actual trip. ;)

    Cheers!

  3. Celebrity Infinity has changed our port time for Ketchikan for next July from 12:30 arrival to 2:00 arrival. I already had made a reservation to take seaplane to Anan Bear Observatory, which now gets cancelled because the short time in port does not allow enough time, according to the tour operator. Has anyone else had this experience on Infinity? I am so disappointed as going to Anan was my "bucket list" thing to do, and I made the reservation over a year in advance. Thanks a lot Celebrity. If it wasn't a group of us going and the logistical nightmare to switch, I would switch to a different cruise. I am contacting several other tour operators to see if they offer a shorter option.

  4. We were just informed by the company we had made reservation with that due to a change in our port time we would not be able to go to the Anan Bear Observatory. This is so disappointing as it is one of my "must do" things for our upcoming Alaska cruise (July 2017). Our port time changed from 12:30 arrival to 2:00 arrival in Ketchican, with 8:00 departure, Celebrity Infinity. Evidently this was enough of a change that the tour company says we won't have enough time to go to Anan. Bummer! Any suggestions? I really wanted to see the bears catching the salmon!

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

  5. We booked a private day tour with Serenity tours on St. Lucia. They met us at the dock, showed us several sites around town, then a scenic drive through the countryside, stopping at a local bakery for some delicious bread and rum punch, dropped us off at Ladera Resort (spectacular) where we had lunch at Labadee restaurant overlook the beach and the pitons. After lunch they drove us back to the dock, making a couple of stops along the way (rum tasting). They were very nice to work with and very professional. The part about having lunch at the resort was my personal request, not part of their usual tour. They customized the tour at no extra charge. (we did have to pay for our own lunch, they just waited for us). If you go to lunch at Ladera ask to see one of the guest "rooms". This was in 2014. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

  6. Can someone tell me if the Infinity onboard naturalist lectures are given at a certain time each day, and are they always in a specific location? Wondering if we need to plan dining around the lectures, especially on Hubbard Glacier day. Also, as we plan to spend a lot of time on our aft balcony, are announcements made when wildlife (whales) are spotted and will we hear the announcements from our cabin balcony? Thanks!

  7. After speaking with a local TA I decided to transfer a reservation for Alaska 2017 that we had recently made while onboard Reflection. I went to the Celebrity website and completed the form, received an email from Celebrity confirming the transfer. What happens next? Should I be receiving new paperwork from the TA showing an additional OBC, or does it magically appear when we do our online check-in?

  8. We will be on the Infinity in cabins 8172 and 8170 for Alaska next summer. Can anyone tell me if the partition between the two balconies can be opened? I'd love to hear feedback from anyone who has stayed in either of these cabins on an Alaska cruise. We chose these to have protection from the wind while hoping to be able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the scenery. Good thinking or am I missing some negatives? Thanks!

  9. I'm trying to decide if I should change an existing cruise reservation (that we booked while onboard recent cruise). Current plan is we will be in Ketchikan on September 1, 2017. I have a price and perks I'm comfortable with, and a great aft cabin. Now I'm doing the research on bear viewing and turns out the place I want to go, Anan Bear observatory, will be past peak, and the company I would like to use stops going there August 1. Checked with cruise about changing to earlier in the season but the cost for the same cabin goes up $400 per person! I'm wondering if I should spend this money to go mid July instead of late August, or just stick with my current schedule and go to a different bear viewing site, such as Traitors Cove. Financially I could make the change, but it may be a budget buster for going on other sightseeing tours. Anyone care to comment?

  10. Not sure if the original poster is considering Aqua Class or not, but if so, the Persian Gardens is much, much nicer on Reflection. We did the southern route on Summit a couple of years ago and even then some of the equipment was not working and the area felt dark/old. On Reflection last year, the Persian Gardens was one of our favorite places on the ship. Love the steam room, then the cold room and the heated "beds"!

  11. We will be in Grand Cayman on my 55th birthday and would like to do something a bit special. We enjoy a nice beach, good food and wine and maybe a spa treatment. Not into the stingrays, Hell or the turtle farm, not really into shopping). We have never purchased a day pass at a resort, but that is something we might consider. How would you spend your birthday in this port?

  12. I ended up booking directly with Celebrity, after getting him to email me that they would give me the OBC so I would have it in writing (they actually gave a little bit more than the TA!). Then the TA said they would match, LOL. Finally I had to get off the fence and make a decision. I felt like I got a great deal, as we are cruising early December and the rates are very low at the moment. It will be interesting to see if they go up or down even more as it gets closer. That is interesting to know we have 60 days to transfer it to a TA, but I doubt I will get anything better at 30 days out.

  13. I had a courtesy with Celebrity website, but in the meantime I called one of the popular online TA to see if they could sweeten the deal. TA was able to offer an obc, so I cancelled the Celebrity courtesy hold. Then I get a call from Celebrity and when I told them about the obc they said they would match it. Now I'm confused about which one to book with....anyone know the advantages or disadvantages with going either way? (Sorry if you are seeing this twice...the first time seems to have disappeared!. OOPS, I didn't know I couldn't mention the TA name. Guess I should have read the rules!).

    Thanks,

    Cheers4CB

  14. I had a courtesy with Celebrity website, but in the meantime I called CruCon to see if they could sweeten the deal. CruCon was able to offer an obc, so I cancelled the Celebrity courtesy hold. 15. Hello, I have a courtesy hold for cabin 2149 on Reflection. Before I commit, does anyone have any pros or cons with that cabin? It is one of the "hump" cabins. I'm a little bit concerned about noise from above and also from people passing by on their way to the spa area. It is also near the future cruise booking area. Anyone stayed in that general area?

Thank you! Looking forward to our 3rd Celebrity cruise!

  16. Greetings fellow cruisers! We are planning our 3rd cruise, 1st time on Reflection. Just wondering if any one has stayed in Aqua Class cabin 2149. Any noise issues or other concerns? What about obstruction or overhang? This is one of the "hump" cabins so maybe larger balcony?

Also, thoughts on cruising Eastern Caribbean in early December? Got a great deal but kind of wondering why so much cheaper than other weeks.

Thanks for any help or opinions.
