  1. Are there any tips to getting on one of the boats first? We are going to Cayman Islands 7am to 4pm....... We have a tour at 8:15am and we will have to walk about 10min to the meeting spot. so is there anything I can do to get one of the first boats out?? I've never tendered before!

Faster to the Fun or get in line for the tender as early as possible.

  2. Which do you prefer if both eastern and western Caribbean were the same price? I've always done the western Caribbean and am curious what others think about the eastern Caribbean itinerary

I prefer eastern. To me, the islands on the eastern side tend provide the experience of the Caribbean culture to a greater extent than the western side. Don't slam me. Jamaica and Grand Cayman are great, but Belize and Cozumel and Roatan are more central american in culture than the island lifestyle of the Caribbean.

  3. We were on the Breeze in January. Our room steward presented us with the card with the option for both. However we witnessed a steward talking with new cruisers (they had blue cards) and they were simply asked do you want morning or evening. The steward didn't offer both. Looks like the don't mess with the experienced people but try to steer the new passengers toward once a day.

  4. Question: With the Lido cups so small and the Yeti cups so large, how many Lido cups would you need to fill your large cup? Seems like it would be close to ten. Wish there was an easier way, but I know, Novo Virus.

It doesn't take any longer to fill a small cup 10 times than it takes to fill a 10 cup container once does it? (transfer time from the small container to the large is negligible.)

  5. When I put in the direction to leave from our house to get to the Port of New Orleans, it's only a 4 hour drive at the most. We plan on parking at the terminal.

I have us booked at a hotel @ a cost of $156 (one night) with check in time after 3 p.m.

When asked for check in time via Carnival, I selected 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Would it be worth it leaving the day before (to be on safe side) or leave early on Saturday morning? We plan on spending 2 days in New Orleans after the cruise.

A cheaper hotel can probably found close but not in New Orleans. We live in Dallas but usually cruise out of Galveston(about 4 hours away). We usually stay in south Houston the night before simply for the peace of mind that being close to the port brings. Plus I'm a lot less stressed when I reach the port when the majority of the trip was done the day before.

  6. Some ships it's really laid back others it's like a scene out of the Hunger Games. I admit we are a little competitive getting there. I haven't beat the bridal party but my wife and I did pass a elderly lady using a walker on the boarding bridge once.

  7. One cruise I was on, I had a number of problems. Some Carnival could control, some they couldn't. I had remarked on social media that this was a cruise that I was contemplating invoking the vacation guarantee. Within a few hours I had calls from the front desk and the entertainment director asking what could be done to improve my experience. They do listen and seem to be sensitive to the idea of someone claiming on this guarantee.

  8. It sure looked like a zoo in the waiting lines for Customs at the FLL pier.

I was glad that I had my Global Entry card to show for that priority line, as I walked right up to the Customs desk, absolutely no wait at all.

Not many cruisers were taking advantage of this easy way to bypass massive lines. Why someone would pay $60 for a one time FTTF and not get the 5 year Global Entry is beyond me.

But the less people have it at both the air and cruise ports, the easier it is for me to get past the crowds.

Waiting on my interview, Ive been scheduled since February. I got interested after waiting an hour and a half in FLL. No line at all at GE kisok.

  9. We went to the Epic Rock show and I thought it was a lip sync contest. I enjoyed the music but the theatrics were underwhelming.

I thought I was the only one that felt that way. I've never been a fan of the Playlist Productions. I think the video screen is a cop out. I lived the 80's and remember when these songs first came out and the performers did not do them justice. If you are going to do the rock legends, you have to own it, not half-ass it.

  10. An example of the idiocy we saw: The Funtimes suggested that you grab a book , come and hang out on the deck 3 promenade. This one of our favoriate areas to sit. It usually quiet, shady and has an unobstructed view of the water. The next day we went out there were far more people than loungers. I counted, 9 loungers on the non smoking side and 14 on the other. If you are going to promote something, prepare for it!
