  1. We will be traveling the week prior to our cruise so we will need to do laundry on board.  Does anyone have tips for when the best times the machines might be free?  I know it differs by every cruise and what not but has anyone seen trends like early-morning or late-night or early in the cruise vs. late in the cruise affects availability?

  2. We cruise in three weeks and this is our first Princess cruise.  We have Reserve Collection Mini-Suite booked which states a benefit of "Priority embark & debark."  Our Princess app states we are "Arrival Group B."  I believe when we first confirmed Green Lane it gave us a specific time (11:30a?), however, now it only shows the "Group B."  Any advice on when we should arrive?

  3. So......let's not cancel the cruises, let's significantly shorten them? And don't head to the port until you're told? Little late for that as I'm sure some folks have already began to head that way or are there. That information should've came out yesterday at the latest.

Some folks would prefer a shortened cruise over a cancelled one.

I sure hope so. We've been waiting for this day since Christmas. I bought the entire cruise plus excursions for my parents, and it's their first one. They will be crushed if it's cancelled. I wouldn't even mind waiting one extra day to sail out on Sunday.

  4. Currently on the Breeze and we are headed back to Galveston. Departed about 5pm and then about 8pm, the Captain announced we are heading back for a medical issue. Said we should still be able to get to Montego Bay on time.

Best wishes and prayers to the affected passenger.

  5. I

I used these on my last Vista cruise and it was so nice to have a place for everything in the shower. There's not a lot of room for shampoo, conditioner. razors, etc in there.

Boarding the breeze in a week and two days! Just ordered this handy item for our trip!

  6. Sorry... don't feel that it's the right thing to do. If the steakhouse has a ban on wearing shorts to eat dinner, why do you feel you have a right to wear shorts while sitting at their bar and utilizing your Cheers program? The employees said it was OK because most employees don't want to rock the boat with guests and upset them. If I was paying my 35.00 pp to indulge in the steakhouse and I was dressed accordingly and adhering to the rules of the establishment, why should you be able to come in and wear shorts and have a rampant disregard for the dress requirements?

I would agree. Unless the restaurant had a "patio-like" setting separate from the main restaurant, everyone in the general dining area should follow the dress code. The purpose of the dress code is to make the entire ambience and experience one above the standard fare of the other options on the ship.

  7. We'll be using Park n Cruise in a couple weeks for the second time. Was very convenient the last time we used them. You can always drop luggage and party off at the pier then drive across the street to park if you have a larger party or limited mobility.

  8. Great review so far - thanks for posting! We will be boarding the Breeze in just a few weeks for our cruise. We are on the MB/GC itin. A few questions if you don't mind: 1) would you still bring the room fan knowing the AC was cool enough? 2) We are also doing a couple days of non-Carnival excursions. I had read on some post here that you needed to go to guest services to get priority. If I read the letter correctly, they tell you where to report for priority debarkation, right? 3) Finally, we are doing Mr. Sancho in Cozumel. Was it too hot to enjoy the beach? Should we consider something else?

  9. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Wife and I and our three kids leave July 9 on same itinerary. Though I'm not expecting gourmet food, I'm pretty disappointed reading of your dining experiences. We last cruised on the Magic and were fairly pleased (certainly not blown away) by the food. I do remember Lido just being lots of lines, people and so-so food. Look forward to reading your future posts. A couple questions. Did you have to wait long for the Thrill Theater showings? If you spent time pool-side, did you have a hard time getting chairs? (lots of unattended chair saving going on?)

  10. Look through the excursions and see if there is really one that jumps out at you. We did Belize/Honduras 3 years ago and we sail next month on the Cayman/MB. We loved seeing the ruins in Belize. We are looking forward to seeing the beaches in Grand Cayman. I'm sure you will have fun on whichever you choose. You might also look to see if there are ever any port cancellations that time of year on either itinerary.

  11. Yea....that must be the problem....???? I guess the Belize Cruisers are putting all the bags in different zones!?! Exactly what are the "Belize Cruises"???

No....this port is a mess in so many ways. I understand that it is extremely convenient for the Texas people, but if New Orleans can handle the cruisers, then I don't see any reason why Galveston can't get their act together.

I also don't like the car rental situation there. The price is off the charts getting a car from Houston or vice versa.

    It's a shame....because I really do love the Breeze.

Glad you had a great cruise!

We sailed out of Galveston three years ago (and will be again in June). Same issue with the Belize itinerary. Has something to do with Customs needing increased inspection when the ship stops at Belize. (High drug trafficking or something.....).

For parking, we used Park n Cruise and it is very convenient. Covered and uncovered parking available and it is directly across the street from the port. No need to wait for a shuttle, taxi, etc.
