The note above says check the departure board for the coach bay number. It will say Carnival Pride- Dover. I imagine the departure board will be easy to spot at the station.

I overlooked that...thank you so much for all your help. 😀

  2. I have purchased a transfer through Carnival to get from London to the port of Dover on September1, 2023.  I haven't received any information from them with meeting information.   Does anyone know any of the information?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. I will be on the ship for the October 16th cruise.   I am wondering how early we can disembark if we don’t have a flight?   We are going to be catching a ferry to Salem that morning and I am trying to figure out what time I should pick.  Obviously,  we would like to be on the 9:30 ferry but I don't know if we would have enough time.   Also, we don’t want to carry our own luggage off.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks. How

do you have any idea if 4 hours is enough/not enough to go up the mountain and stop at the sights along the loop?

This will be my first time there so I am not sure.   We plan on doing the summit first and then adding in stops based on available time/battery usage.  We are also thinking about maybe adding an hour if necessary and if the car is available

  5. CAN THE GEM’S GET UP CADILLAC MOUNTAIN?

Yes!  Going to the top of Cadillac is the highlight of any visit to Acadia.  You will need a reservation for the mountain and at least 4 bars of battery showing on the dashboard meter.  You can reserve your entry at www.rec.gov.  If you get to the base of the mountain with less than 4 bars you can return to the GEM garage for a fresh vehicle if there is one available.  Also we ask that you coast down the mountain as much as possible as that generates electricity and re-charges the batteries.

We have had lots of customers tour the Park Loop Road and then climb Cadillac on a single charge.  Air temperature, and number of passengers are both variables that impact the range of our electric vehicles.  Please call us with any questions.

I just found this information on the GEM website for anyone worrying that the GEM won't make it to the summit. 🙂

We reserved ours too! I decided to forgo Cadillac mountain. Having to choose a time made it a bit too complicated in my head. I asked a friend who spent a week in Acadia last year and said they didn't even go up because of all the things to do. So we are going to do the loop, hike Beehive, and any other little hikes we can manage in that time. I think we also plan to just buy our park pass right in town, just in case we aren't able to get off the ship for any reason. Hope you have a great time!

Hey Jenny...one of the main things we wanted to do was the summit so I went ahead and booked our pass ($6).  Like you, I am waiting until we get there to get the park pass ($30).  I am actually excited about renting the cars...it's definitely something unique. 😀

Hi Dawn... I don't know what I was thinking and so worried now.  All the tours are booked. Did you find anything?

Hey Empty...I decided to book the GEM electric cars.  After reading about them, I am really excited about it.   We are planning to do the Cadillac Mountain Summit...I have already booked our pass.  I'm not really worried about the charge because we are going to do this first and we will add the other stops based on our usage.   We booked for 4 hours so that we will still have time for shopping,  lunch, etc when we get back to town.

Good luck with your planning. 😀

  8. I am going to be visiting Bar Harbor on October 17th on the Voyager of the Seas.   I have just recently booked this cruise and I am looking at excursions.  I am interested in visiting Acadia National Park.

Since I am late booking,  it seems that most of the excursions,  through the ship and private excursion companies,  are booked.  I have also looked at using the Island Explorer for the Park but the website says that the services will not be running past October 10th.  Renting a car is not really an option for us.

My question is this...how can I see the summit of Cadillac Mountain and Thunder Hole?  Would it be possible to take an Uber or taxi?  There will be 4 of us in the group.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi There! Did you find any AI’s who were selling day passes? We have called a couple resorts and they said they are not offering them right now.

Hi jcaadb!  I never really found any information.   In fact, we booked another cruise that will be returning to Jamaica in February so I have been researching again but have found nothing.  I  guess that we will just go with a ship excursion again.   Have fun!

  10. I am trying to do the web checkin online for our cruise that departs on Sunday.  I am getting stuck at the credit card registration.  I keep getting an error message.  Of course, without the credit card information I am getting the message that my paperwork is not ready.  I have called the telephone number and I have been on hold for the last 45 minutes.

    Any suggestions?

  11. We will be in Montego Bay in a couple of weeks and I am looking at excursions.  I am thinking of getting a day pass to an AI but I can't find any info about a day pass.

Can anyone recommend an AI and tell me how you purchased the pass?  Did you contact the resort directly or did you book through a tour guide?

I would appreciate some guidance on this.

    Thank you.

Good idea, because of US regulations, I think that you will also not be able to stay on the ship while in Port Canaveral on the 21st, since that is viewed as a cruise cycle, and the ship's passenger count will have to be zeroed out, even if you are only off the ship for a short time.  That's how we had to do it in the past even if we booked as an entire cruise, not B2B as separate cruises.  It may be different in the COVID situation, but I doubt it. You really should check on your status as well.  Have a great cruise!

JAGR...thanks for the info.   That makes sense that we might not be able to stay on board.  I will definitely check on this first thing when we get on board.

  13. Hello...my sister and I are leaving on Nov 14th for an 18-day cruise.   When I booked my trip, it was listed as a 18-day cruise.   When she booked,  she had to book them as a b2b (a 7 day cruise plus an 11 day cruise).

My question is this...how will the covid testing work for her on the turn around day?  We will both have a test result when we get on the ship.  When we come back to port at the end of the first seven days, will she be required to have another Covid test?  We are not planning on getting off the ship that day.

Neither of us have ever done a b2b so I am not sure how it works.

Thanks for any guidance you can provide.

  14. Hello...this is my first time on MSC.  How are the tips handled?  Do they add them to your stateroom account each day or do you pay in cash at the end of the cruise?

Also, what is the daily rate?

    Thanks.

  15. I will be in Montego Bay in November and I am looking at what to do.  The cruise line offers an excursion to the Margaritaville in Negril with a stop at Rick's Cafe to watch the divers.  I have read that there is also a Margaritaville in Montego Bay.   Is the Negril location better than Montego Bay? Is the beach there better? Is the drive worth it?

This is my first time in Jamaica so I am open for suggestions.

    Thanks.
