  1. I don't eat fish and they made modifications to some of the fish dishes for me, I was worried I would not able to try much as the menu was fairly fishy but it worked out well.  They asked as soon as we sat down about our restritions.  Even though I am a finky eater and did not love eveything, I liked the food more than I thought I would. They were were so accomodating to all our parties restrictions, it was a great experience and we had a lot of fun.

Does anyone know if Royal Caribbean sells a transfer to Hobby that includes a stop at some other Houston area attraction (maybe Johnson Space Center)?  I once did an airboat ride after a cruise on the way to the Miami airport.  I am contemplating taking a cruise in April and looking at a potentially late flight home. I can't seem to find any info on Royal's website unless I have already booked the cruise.

We are cruising January 28 and at this time there is only one in the cruise planner and it is for flight through IAH, nothing for Hobby yet.image.thumb.png.162076a59011080a45fcdaa249f7c44c.png

Yes, it's now $15.99 per day for my cruise in January so I am booking it.  Got it on sale last year for $14.99/day so that is about as cheap as it gets.  We get only 1 and take turns using our devices.  Yes, I have to sign in as my husband.  I can read books or play games on my IPad w/o being online.  We just don't spend that much time online on a cruise.  IF I did want 2 devices I would pay as ONE person with 2 devices.  It is cheaper that way.

If someone could please let me know what percentage off are you seeing?  I'm Canadian and at 25% for Black Friday it is $30.15 per day for 7day in Jan on Harmony.  Just wondering it it is different percentages or if they are using "RCL math" to calculate exchange rate🤨.

  4. This spring on QoS we did the prior request for seperate beds.  Once on board at 1pm we did the request through app as room steward was not around.  After dinner we made the request through room steward.  At 10pm we went to guest services.  At 11 we finally got through to house keeping to request.  Almost midnight a poor guy shows, by that time my travelling companion ripped apart the bed and pulled out all bedding stored under bed trying to make up beds herself but all had disgusting stains, room was a disaster zone, never forget the look on his face 🤣.  Needless to say the worker got a mention and extra tip, felt so bad for him

  5. We did this on our last cruise in 2020 when there was construction and not safe to walk between.  We took a taxi; at first when we told the taxi driver where we were going he said no way.  I went to the port person in charge of the taxi area and asked how we could get to the other port, they came back and made the taxi take us.  It was an uncomfortable trip but we did tip the driver very well.

  6. For our April cruise our Move up was awarded 35 days prior to cruise and was sitting in pending for a few days. It was to a Veranda with good availability left  (around 200 mark) so that is probably why it was early.  I have not seen the link in my cruise planner since and when clicking the email links I can not make further bids so no clear indication that this would work without calling.

On cruisedeckplans.com they have a Cabin Checker Tool that will show what's above and below a cabin.

Thank you!  All these years I have been using their drag deck function like a cave man, overlapping and lining up the elevators to figure it out 😖

I just saw something new.   I went in to check on a number of upgrades I have pending and the both the Minimum and Maximum have dropped significantly.   The new Max is below my bid so I changed them to the Max bid just in case I was to win one (I guess otherwise I would have been charge more than the new max).    I doubt most of them will win as there are no cabins available except one bid where there is 1 cabin.

Has anyone else ever seen this

Had the same thing happen on our April Hawaii cruse.  Mins dropped 100 to 200 per person from when first avail to bid.

  9. I have not heard anything about them changing the departure port, it was just standard info included was all US and nothing on Canada, which was not helpful.

    Dear Valued Guest,

We look forward to welcoming you aboard for your upcoming Celebrity Cruises vacation. Before we set sail, we are sharing this overview of our Healthy at Sea protocols to ensure you enjoy a smooth boarding experience.

    Vaccines

All guests who are eligible to be vaccinated must be fully vaccinated with all doses administered at least 14 days prior to sailing. Effective April 15, 2022, this will include all guests 5 years of age and older on sailings departing from the US. Guests with a mixed series of any two of the following vaccines taken within a minimum of 28 days between doses, will also be considered fully vaccinated: Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm or Covaxin. Youths who have received one dose of a vaccine (other than Johnson & Johnson) will not be considered fully vaccinated. COVID-19 Booster Vaccine shots are not currently required to sail on Celebrity Cruises.

    Pre-Cruise Testing

For sailings departing the U.S. through April 30, 2022, all vaccinated guests are required to present a negative COVID-19 test result at the time of embarkation. This test may be taken as either an Antigen or PCR test, conducted within two days of boarding the ship. Each guest is responsible for making their own arrangements with an accredited testing provider as well as covering all associated costs.

Beginning with sailings departing on or after March 18, 2022, guests who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may present a Certificate of Recovery and proof of the positive PCR test result taken between 11-90 days prior to the sail date for boarding. We will not accept a Certificate of Recovery in place of a vaccination record. All guests eligible to be vaccinated must continue to show proof of full vaccination. Additionally, please be aware that some ports of call do not accept a Certificate of Recovery for the purposes of debarking and enjoying the destination. For more details on Certificate of Recovery requirements, please visit our Healthy at Sea FAQs on our website at celebritycruises.com/healthy-at-sea/faqs.

Unvaccinated children under the age of 11 prior to April 15 and under the age of 5 on April 15 and later will be required to bring a negative PCR test conducted within three days of boarding. These guests will be given an additional Antigen test at the terminal prior to embarkation as well as on the day before disembarkation. A registration link for required testing at the terminal will be sent separately. Please note, unvaccinated guests cannot be tested twice in one day as it may affect the accuracy of their test results, therefore the COVID-19 PCR test required before arriving at the terminal cannot be taken on boarding day.

    Convenient Testing Options

    Monitored Self-Test Kit - Abbott BinaxNOW™ COVID-19 Ag Card:

Approved Self-Test Kits are available for order pre-cruise for fully vaccinated guests. Complete your pre-cruise test kit at home or any place of your choosing with the help of live video supervision by a Certified Guide. Your results will be ready within 15 minutes. ORDER HERE

    Concierge Testing Service:

In partnership with Bio-reference, a concierge testing option is also available. Bio-reference will send a qualified medical technician to your home, office, hotel, or any place you choose, to perform the test. Your results will be ready in about 48 hours. RESERVE HERE

Guests arriving at the terminal without a negative COVID-19 test result or valid Certificate of Recovery may be denied boarding.

    While Onboard

Face masks will be optional on board for all vaccinated guests.  Masks will continue to be required for unvaccinated guests at all times indoors, except while eating or drinking. This policy is re-evaluated on a continuous basis and any updates will be shared with our guests.

    Home Country Re-Entry Testing

All fully vaccinated guests requiring a COVID-19 test to return to their home country will have the opportunity to receive testing in the cruise port during disembarkation. Proof of return travel scheduled within 24 hours of disembarkation is required. Details on testing registration will be provided onboard. Testing will be complimentary for guests with cruise reservations booked prior to November 16, 2021.  For new bookings made on or after November 16, 2021, testing will be available for a per person fee.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Celebrity Cruises at 1-844-418-6824 in North America or (316) 554-5961 worldwide.

Would you lose any existing OBC from the initial fare?

We are past final payment and had a $300 OBC from the Black Friday Sale.  I called this morning and received more OBC for the price difference and did not lose the OBC I had originally,  My room is an O8 but  is sold out, there is still O7 avail and  I received the price difference for that category. I could move to an O7 stateroom but I did not like the locations remaining.  If I wanted to upgrade higher I could but if the stateroom was  more than I originally paid I would not be able to keep the original  OBC.

  11. I will be wearing one for upcoming cruise when near ppl.  I am immune compromised and have not been sick for two years due to the recent measures that have been taken.  The last time I had pneumonia was on my last cruise in 2020, so  I am hoping masking might help in preventing other infections.

  12. There were promo codes posted on this website for a small percentage off on excursions (10%) and other Carnival purchases over the black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend.  Something to watch for during that time.  I believe the codes came from John Herald's fb page but could be wrong.

Anxious to hear about your day in Costa Maya.  We are still trying to decide (as a group) what to do in this port.  Hubs and I have been here twice before, years ago, did the ruins (which we really enjoyed).  The port area looks a bit different than last time we visited.  Those elevated walkways, what is that?  Is there a cost?  Know anything about that pyramid/water slide thing in the distance?  I really need to get over to the CM board and do some reading!

We have done the Mayan Kingdom (pyramid/water slide thing) a few times.  They have various slides, zipline, zip coaster, lazy river and pool.  It has never been that busy when we have gone so no lines, quite appreciate that after a few days on a cruise ship.  There is an elevator in the pyramid to get to the water slides and zips, so the only stairs are on the towers connecting the zipline runs.  Only thing missing was a hot tub as one time it was on one of the coldest days they have seen down there and we froze our butts off.  Other than that we always enjoyed our day.

  14. We did it a couple years ago and it was good.  If any of the activities were a single tour on their own we would of been disappointed but the fact there was so much to do we really did enjoy ourselves.  The downsides were the lines and the fact we had a talkative tour guide at the estate tour.  Groups came and went and he just kept talking, this preventative us from doing all that we planned and tainted our experience.  One lady with our group just rode the ziplines the whole day; she  loved it and was planning to go back on her next cruise.     For us it was one of those tours we liked but probably would not do again.

If I do it, I will definitely report back.  If it's too hot or rainy, I'll grab a taxi.  Some others I know are taking a taxi.

Thanks!  I had read somewhere that taxi's were not keen to do this so I was looking for other options in case.  The quote below is from a previous post regarding transport between terminals, might try that too.

"There is a free shuttle you can use...it's an unmarked white coach with a sign in the window "Complimentary to Parking Garages". We had checked with the ladies who are organizing the taxis in front of the Celebrity terminal and one of them  called the coach driver to stop for us....it's free but we gave the driver a nice tip for taking us to Terminal B"

  16. If possible, can you please report back on how it went when you return.  We are considering doing the same thing in January and my mother, who is 73, is coming.  She is pretty spry but may not be up to leaping over barriers hauling luggage.
