We've done both - balcony and OV. Don't spend enough time in the room to justify the balcony. Would rather put the money toward more cruises. Again, it's personal preference.

We actually try for a cabin near the elevators. My sister does the same thing. Convenient for coming and going...just get off the elevator and you're almost home! Never had a problem with people talking/laughing.

We're booked on Pride of America for next May. In looking at the ship's specialty restaurants, it shows Jefferson's Bistro. I assume this is the same as Le Bistro or maybe not?? Thanks!

Making reservations for 6 for North Star. Can't decide whether to do on sea day or while in Halifax. Wondering if any downsides or upsides for either. Thanks for any info!

We'll be staying at Best Western the night before our cruise on Ruby Princess in April. Wondered if it's safe to walk to San Pedro Brewing Co. for dinner. Looks like it's a 14 minute walk. Could take a taxi, but figured if it's a nice evening, could maybe just walk. Or is there another restaurant you could recommend...anything except Mexican. Thanks.

And it's gone now!

Sundiego, do you remember approximately what time you arrived at Best Western? I'm concerned about getting a reservation on the shuttle to the port. Our flight arrives at 3 PM and it will probably be going on 5 PM till we get to the hotel. Wonder if they'll be filled up by then?

Thanks for posting this question. It was very precise in what you're looking for. I'm looking for the exact thing. Can't understand though why some people have a hard time answering what's been asked. You specifically say you're not intersted in Uber/Lyft and don't want that to be part of the equation, and we feel the same way, but some still find it necessary to post their experiences, I suppose trying to change your mind. Puzzling!
But thanks to the others. It will be very helpful to me.

We did the Princess transfer in February and it didn't take all that long to fill. Was just wondering about the price since February's cruise was out of Ft. Lauderdale. Will talk to TA in a few days. Thanks.

Can someone tell me the price of a transfer from Ruby Princess to LAX at the end of the cruise? TA is out for a few days. Thanks!

How much is a transfer from ship to airport? Last time we paid $19/pp. Wonder if it's gone up?

Thanks everyone. I'll let him know what you all said.

I have a friend who's planning to take his first cruise. He used to get car sick when he was younger when he'd ride in the back seat. Where would be the best cabin to book to minimize this problem? Thanks!

We're looking for a cruise with stop in Cabo - thinking about Ruby 7 day out of LA or Grand 10 day out of San Fran. But concerned about San Fran. How warm will it be the first few days - warm enough to sunbathe on deck? Thanks for any info!

Just a few comments....there are lots of varying opinions on balconies. We've done both and we'll stick with oceanview. We don't spend enough time in our cabin to justify the cost.
We've done 7 Carnival and 4 RCCL, and we don't see a whole lot of difference. Carnival's improved over the years from when they started, particularly with the decor. Much more subdued now. We thought the food was very comparable.

Can we use OBC to pay gratuities? I've heard yes and no. This will be our 15th cruise but we've always pre-paid so this question never came up.

Jackie, I meant to say how long does it take to get from Hampton Inn Plantation to Port Everglades?

We, too, have Southwest flights for our Coral Princess cruise. I just called Princess to see if they participate with Southwest for EZ check. Said yes, if we're leaving out of Ft. Lauderdale, but that's the only port they do it for.

Thanks everyone. Never thought to check the deck plans!

I've been told the laundry room on Baja deck, Coral Princess is in aft area. Does anyone know precisely where it's located, near which cabins?

Some friends are ready to book a cabin on Deck 2 which is the bottom deck for passengers on Serenade. If I'm correct, I think the crew is below this deck. If that's the case, do you think they might be bothered with noise since crew are early risers? Is that where the laundry is done? Thanks for any input.

I'm guessing the formal nights for the 8 day Southern itinerary (Grand Turk, Dominican Republic, Curacao and Aruba) are Sunday and Friday. Is this correct? Also, need a refresher on how soon before departure we need to be back on the ship during days in port. Is it an hour or 1/2 hr? Thanks!
What increased charges should we expect when cruising continues?

I agree with some of the others...why would you want to give them any ideas???
