I still haven't booked as well, NewCruiserNYC. I have done roomsharing on four cruises, two with total strangers and the other two I had the chance to get to know beforehand by phone. All worked well. They are all still alive, LOL. Prior knowledge of who you are rooming with is definitely advantageous, and in my case, I even got to share pre and post-cruise hotels with them so I didn't feel left out and alone during those times. Yes, you pay double if you want the room to yourself, with the exception that you don't have to pay port fees and gratuity twice.

What cabin category did you book, peterrp64?

We're on the same boat NewCruiserNYC. Solo traveler here as well.

Thank you Hobie, Boytjie, Mister White, monumax, and rojjodc for the advice and concern! I wish I have joined this thread before booking my flight. Hope everything goes well, and see you all aboard??? :p

Thanks for the feedbacks, Hobie and boytjie! Yes, flying directly to Miami from Los Angeles. I will seriously consider your advice, and possibly re-book. Thanks again guys!

Single and will be cruising with friends, and hoping to make new ones!
I will be arriving in Miami around 2PM the same day. Is that too close for comfort?

I want to go on this one, would be by myself. But I don't want to pay double, and I am not sure about rooming with someone I don't know.
Same situation here!

This cruise is just about a month away, and it seems a lot of cabin categories are still available.
Any other guys who travel by themselves?

I agree with David, that other board needs CPR!

I find it the height of rudeness when on a crowded dance floor, some people kept passing between me and my partner like we were just some inanimate objects. Excuse you!

I agree on your room choice, peterrp64. So you were on the Oosterdam to Alaska last year too? That's cool! We could have bumped into each other unknowingly. I know an Australian who loves cruising a lot and was on that trip too. I wonder if that is you, LOL. That's quite surprising about the double gratuity on a sole occupancy. I thought I heard otherwise.
