  1. I need info. also. We have pre-paid gratuities for a drink package and I've heard 2 different answers regarding the taxes. Do we have to pay the taxes

on total amount? More people said we didnt have to pay any other fees or taxes on any amenities they give you. Who knows (for sure) if we have to pay taxes or a "fee" on any amenities we are given? Thanks so much for your help.

  2. We send ours that we need to wear again out to be done by the ship.

It the bag of dirty things we'll be taking home with us we put "dry sheets" in them to keep the smelly oder way down. ;);)

It's been awhile since our last cruise and I've wondered; if one want's to do their laundry (still no place on Celebrity Ship's I see), how many of you happy cruiser's have done your laundry in port?

When you're on a 2+"weeker", does anybody hassle with doing some or not? We're doing the So. Carib. on the Celebrity "Reflection" this early Dec. 2018.

One of us is considering hassling with laundry in one port mid cruise & I'm not! I usually overpack but the alternative sounds like work!

I am really curious. Who has done laundry for one reason or another?

Happy Cruising to All. It's great to be back!!!

  3. We'll be sailing on the Celebrity Reflection this coming Dec. 2018 & will be porting in Aruba from Dec. 15th at 8 a.m. until Dec.16th at 6 p.m..

We've never ported anywhere overnight and would like to know how the ship allows their passenger's to be "on and off" the ship? Do they give us rules and timelines to go by or do we just do what we want when we want (a stupid question)? This may be an odd question to many but since never experiencing this schedule, I'm curious as to "the rules"?

Any answers are greatly appreciated but.....go easy on me!

Thanks for answering. I'm really curious how the ship goes about this!

I think I have an idea.........

  4. We'll be in the Southern Caribbean this Dec. 2018. I've done research on the price for cab's and I cannot believe what I'm reading!! We'll be doing a bus on a few islands, but on Barbados we want to go from the cruise port to Hole Town. I also read the bus is unavailable on the beach route we wanted to take. I believe it's Hwy. 1? Has anyone taken a cab from the cruise port in Bridgetown to Hole Town?

Can someone please, please respond and if you've traveled this route, please tell me what we can expect to pay a taxi? It's about a 20 min. drive from cruise port.

Any other thoughts on this route? AND: Price for a cab?

  5. We will be on the Reflection, Dec. 7-21st, 2018. While planning our own excursion on Antigua Dec. 10th, we have never done an excursion on our own. We will be going to Nelson's Dockyard and would like some advice on cab's and what to expect with prices. We will barter, but still would like to know what other's have paid one way. We will try and get another few people to share our cab/van.

Any and all information we could get from our fellow cruiser's would help us a lot. Celebrating our 47th anniversary!!

    Thanks so much and

    Happy Cruising!

  6. We'll be stopping in Barbados during our 2 wk. southern Caribbean cruise in December. We'd like to walk around Bridgetown hopefully seeing some of it's history w/out having to get transportation. We'd like to see some shops also.

Is this something we'll come upon or do we need to include an excursion, transportation, etc.?

We've never been to this island and would appreciate any thoughts or ideas to those of you who have done this same type thing?

    Thank you. Help is appreciated!!

  7. Thank you for responding! Can you tell me (OR ANYONE?) how much the ship charges for "the regular clothing"? Undies, t-shirt's, shorts? Nothing fancy, just the everyday day stuff?

Thank you to all who can help me out here!

  9. Why couldn't the cruise line, choice air, (who I was told to call) and the agency that will never get my business again, tell me in your terms (Hank and other's) exactly what they meant by an e-ticket? I asked that simple question (over and over) and with no answer to this by so many people. We've flown many times and I was assuming they meant the electronic airline ticket, but they kept "acting" as if I had print my luggage tags in order to get these un-named e- tickets. I'm supposed to be getting my luggage tags in the mail which the booking agency said "they can't do that", you have to print them.

All I can say is thank you for clarifying a simple question for me while three other companies couldn't give me a straight answer or even help me. It has been a nightmare with the booking company and at one point they gave me the wrong cabin and then cancelled my reservation!

Thanks again. You guys know so much more than the people who should know what the left and right hand are doing. THANK YOU for helping me have some peace. As you can tell, I'm type "A"!

  10. We'll be sailing on Celebrity March 16th to the western Caribbean for 11 days. I've completed all online information and luggage tags are on the way. (by mail which I was told was a no-no) Nobody appears to be able to direct me or answer my question: "Are e-tickets the same as "Xpress Passes" or are e-tickets something separate that I also need to print out that has to do with the airline I used? When the 3 professional entities answered, all answer's were different. Choice Air said to go through my airline (we didn't use choice air but was told to call them for help by another professional, and several times I was given instructions to print out e-tickets by going back to on-line check in and follow their instructions. Every person told me something different and I still don't know if they mean the e-ticket number I have listed on my Alaska Airlines paperwork or something printed through them. I have made MANY calls and still can't get a simple question answered. (Never did get a hold of Alaska Airlines) Since everything is on-line now, don't you think they could explain things right and not get a different answer from each party? I know one booking agency I will never use again. 13 calls to them on various issues. Can someone answer this question and tell me what am I doing wrong or missing? If it's so easy, nobody can give me a solid answer and I'm getting really bugged. Please help. Nobody else seems to be able to.

  11. We have the "123 Go" package but didn't opt for the drink part of the package. Does anyone know if we can buy JUST a "coffee package"? I know we can get free regular coffee, I'm wondering about latte's, etc. Not interested in the soda or drink packages but do love the specialty coffees.

    Thanks all.

  12. I read on a few reviews that if you book an excursion through the ship (Celebrity) and use your credit card, they charge you 15% aside from the excursion for using the credit card? Has anyone had this experience or know if this is true or not. Guess I can find out through Celebrity but wanted to ask you pro's!

  13. You may have some luck looking at the "Container Store's", either online or in the stores if you have them around you. They have a HUGE selection for buying organizational items. It can be overwhelming they have so much. Good luck and Happy Sailing.

  14. Wow! I didn't expect to get so much GREAT advice about us taking a tour bus to the Florida Keys. The reasons everyone gave and suggestions made for other things to do helped a lot.

We will not take the bus. Everything said, common sense just kicked in!

    Thank you all! Great Advice.

  15. We'll be in FLL 3 days before we embark on our cruise. Instead of renting a car to drive to the Keys, I saw an excursion (said it was 17 hours for $100.00 per person) to there on a bus thru one of the companies. (Can't remember if it was thru Celebrity, Cruises Only or private) The reason we don't want to rent a car is that the person driving can't look around as much as the passenger.

Has anyone done this one before? I'm thinking 17 hours is a "typo" as I heard to drive there takes about 3-4 hours one way. Of course they will have the day planned for us. I will call them, but want to know if anybody has done this one and if so, what are your thoughts?

Also want to do an Everglades Water boat (forgot what they're called) excursion. Is that one worth it depending on length of time and price?

Do private companies scare you off booking through them? We've always booked through the ship. Once again, you guys/gals are awesome with always helping me either by answering my or other's questions.

    Thanks once again.

  16. Thanks for all of your feedback. At least I found out I can get buy a pass for the Persian Garden. Is the Persian Garden worth it? And, I keep hearing about coupons people seem to get "somewhere"? Any thoughts on the Garden and information on how to get coupons?

Thanks again. See you "Equinoxer's" going to the 11 day ultimate caribbean cruise this coming March 15th.

  17. Does anyone know if we can upgrade to Aqua Class to receive some of the amenities without changing our cabin?

We are CC veranda at the back of the ship but would like to be able to use the Aqua Spa facility (the Aqua Spa lounge, steam and sauna) including the free dinner for Aqua Spa client's.

If this is possible, how much would it cost? I realize massages, hair/nail appts. are extra. I have a feeling the answer is NO!

Thanks for any help or experiences you've had. Sailing March 16th of this year on the beautiful Equinox.

  18. We'll be taking the 11 day Ultimate Caribbean March 16th porting out of FLL on the Equinox. We have looked at various zip-lines companies through Celebrity and also private agencies. We've never booked excursions with outside agencies and wonder about some of them? Also, our itinerary: 1)Grand Cayman, 2) Cartagena, Colombia,3)Colon, Panama,4) Puerto Limon, Costa Rica,5)Belize City, Belize,6)Cozumel. The other days are sea days or leaving/coming back to FLL.

Does anyone have any suggestions for where to zip-line and any other excursions that "floated your boat"? (Couldn't resist!) We're in our young 60's, somewhat adventerous and somewhat in/out shape. We plan on snorkeling also. Do tell. This is the first we've been to these countries except Panama and Costa Rica. Also, I hope I posted on the correct post/forum/thread? If not, sorry and I'll do my homework next time if I blew it again.

Thanks for any help you can give. This is our 6-7th cruise.
