I'm a drinker and my partner doesn't drink at all. I had to buy him the beverage package that included specialty coffee etc. if I wanted the alcoholic package. He ended up really appreciating being able to get sf red bull and a few milkshakes, but otherwise would have been very happy with just the soda package.

Does anyone think the upgrade onboard tactic would work if neither party had any package? I think I bought my alcoholic package at $44 or $48/night, the lowest this board says it goes. It was so much more expensive on board.  I'm wondering if the price per night combined may still be lower than the on board price for just one. .. ?

The $600ish cost was still a shock, but if I wanted to drink as much as I would have at an all inclusive, our usual vacay, it was still a better deal. I def got my money's worth 😉

we never have any package for other people in the room. Just the hubby had the alcohol one. i didnt have a soda package or anything. on any of the ships we have sailed. and all have been the same. never charged the other person or made the other person have one

  2. we havnt been on a royal in a few years but its the same with norwegian who we just did this last year. told the same story when prebooking and even when we first walk on to the ship at the welcome table but as soon as we go upstairs to the pool we can just sign up and buy individually. never charged for the second adult. every single time. no questions asked and non asked by us.

  3. We only get one for my husband each time because I frankly dont drink enough to make it worth it and stay away from soda and try to stick with water only. We always just purchase once we board and have never had any issues. everytime you try to do it ahead of time online or on the phone you get the story of having to do it for both people but once onboard we just head up to the pool and purchase it from the table.

  4. We are thinking about visiting the Turtle Farm in May. In reviewing their site it looks like they have a Turtle Centre Exploration for $18/person and Turtle Adventure Tour for $45/person. Has anyone been on the Turtle Adventure..is it worth the extra $$?

    Thanks,

curious as well? did you go? how did you get to and from?

  5. Im seeing different ages for Dunns River Falls on just about every excursion place i look. anyone know ages? Some say 4 some say doesnt matter the age. We will have a 3 year old with us. Any other suggestions? Looking into the Grotto Caves as well. Or a combo of the two

  6. One of or best excursions ever was in roatan where we did a tour and then they stopped at the beach. Had chairs for us ect. Is there anything like that in Nassau? Should I waste a beach day on Nassau or save it for tortula or st Thomas?

  7. I second victor boden. Hands down the cheapest but best money spent. Most bang for ur buck and relaxing excursion. We did the zoo and bananarma beach. Most beautiful beach ever. White sand. Little fish right up at ur toes in ankle deep water. Calm water. Swim up restaurant. Best kept secret and not crowded AT ALL

  8. Some of the hotel and car rental shuttles use large van/bus vehicles, and the cruise transfer bus has no seat belts - neither will require car seats; not sure you could hook them in even If you had them.

Taxis and Ubers are popular in Miami and will require car seats. You'll also need the car seats for taxis at your ports.

Only a few MIA airport hotels/motels offer both airport and port shuttles. La Quinta East is a budget option often suggested; nicer hotels in a nicer area are found in the Blue Lagoon neighborhood (Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, etc.)

Note section (6) at the bottom of the page (I highlighted the last sentence):
