  1. Thanks Pat. Wow that's expensive. Was on the Oasis of the Seas in July. Unlimited package was $14/day and second device 1/2 price. So my daughter and I had unlimited wifi for $21/day for both of us. Might just buy a couple of minutes just to check in at home periodically (going without the kids this time;))

  2. I think it will be good as a fairly picky eater. There were certain menus that appealed to me in the MDR and some that did not. I would try to plan specialty restaurants on the days that had the menus that didn't appeal to me. But if they changed the order of the menus or I had misinformation- I could end up missing a menu I liked and stuck in the MDR with a menu I didn't like. But if the menu is the same each night in each restaurant- I just have to make sure to hit each restaurant that appeals to me- and not have to worry which night is which. I will miss having one set of waitstaff that gets to know you- but overall I think it could be a good thing.

  3. I believe it is on all of the ships. I sail on the Independence next year, so I hope it is offered there as well.

I have had them on The Allure, Explorer, Liberty and Mariner. I would assume they are fleet wide. Usually served in souvenir glasses- usually each day would be a different colored shot glass. At one point they were metal, but my last 2 cruises they were clear glasses with a colored bottom. I missed one color as we went to Giovanni's one night- so later in the week I asked the bar waiter to bring me the shot I missed in the glass I missed (that night I had 2!!). So I have 1 complete set and most of 2 more. If you have a "favorite" you can ask for that each night but I like to try what they come up with each night. And I understand with the package you don't get the glasses- but since I have the set- no big deal:D

  4. Hi Sherri-

I am thoroughly enjoying your review. Hope your recovery goes well and you enjoy your next cruise. I am a huge Top Chef fan and would love to be going on that cruise.

I was on the Allure in August 2011 and we loved it. My "Klingons" now 16, 14, and 12 had the best time. I am taking them on the Oasis this August and can't wait. Decided to switch ships to get to see the different shows. We also ate at Giovannis and loved it and we did the Rita's Fiesta and had a great time. Other than that we ate in the main dining room which we also enjoyed very much.

Now to my hint- I had read on cc prior to my Allure cruise that the cupcakes in the Cupcake Cupboard are refrigerated- but purchasing them ahead of time and allowing them to come to room temperature really enhanced the flavor.

Lastly- I want to thank you for all of your hard work with the Red Cross. I live in Baldwin on the south shore of Long Island- and although I live in the north part of town and was mostly unaffected by Sandy- many of my friends and acquaintances in the Harbor area were devastated and are still rebuilding. If it wasn't for organizations like the Red Cross in those early weeks after the storm, many of these people would not have food, water and other supplies to survive. Most people were living in the second story of their homes and had no heat- and it got very cold around here shortly after the storm. Again thank you and all of your coworkers for the wonderful work you do.:D

  5. Has anyone done this on the Explorer? What exactly does it include? I've read it starts at a lounge for cocktails- are these included? Also have read wine is included, but also have seen beer and champagne mentioned. I understand it is a preset menu- does anyone know what the choices are? I keep seeing conflicting info but I don't know if it varies by ship or just misinformation:confused:. If anyone who has done this recently can answer my questions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
