  1. We are on the NCL Star that terminates in Reykjavik the morning of June 1.  Our current thinking is to rent a car and stay somewhere along the Golden Circle for two nights, then drive to the International Airport and drop the car off there.

Any suggestions for car rental agencies near the port that allow for a drop off at KEF? My usual go to Enterprise seems to have closed their port location.

    Many thanks!

  2. ...the UK government hasn't lifted its quarantine requirement for USA passengers in time to make the sailing? Would NCL still sail on 6/6/21 if American passengers are frozen out?  Might they move the embarkation elsewhere (and change the itinerary to remove Scotland?)

Calling NCL gets me very nice call center folks who have no information.

I do note that Princess has cancelled sailings out of Southampton until September this year.

I also have $1,000 in OBC that was part of the deal when we rebooked!emoji15.png I should be able to get off the ship without a bill to pay.

Good to get a new one!  My understanding is that the old OBC does not carry forward to the new booking.

  4. We are still discerning whether to take the refund or the FCC. With the 125% and a 20% rebooking discount, even upgrading cabin and/or itinerary can result in an excess credit in the account.  Question is: Can this be used for onboard charges or does it sit in you account for another cruise?

I'm scheduled on Bliss Alaska May 17 from Seattle- one way or another we're not going.  Yesterday you couldn't book it, today you can. 26 more days.

Amazing, isn't it?  I plan to use the FCC for sometime in 2021, but may consider Oceania.  I don't suppose the FCC would be transferable to a sister cruse line? :classic_blink:

  6. Family of four cruising on the Harmony late May. First stop: the all new Coco Cay. From the RCCL website, the cabañas look rather plain, yet very pricy: the Chill Island Cabañas are $1,199.00 per Cabaña.  What in the world can make them worth that?  Even the Oasis Lagoon cabañas seem over priced at $500.00.

    Thoughts?

  7. We were on the June 3-10 sailing as well. Ship looked very nice, but it’s been 14 years since we were on it and there’s not much left that’s the same. We’ve been cruising the larger NCL ships lately, and Star has that kind of feel.

I will say I hope the “new” crew gets its sea legs soon - there were a number of drastic misfires in service.

  8. You need to be certain your hotel has a private dock if you don’t want to drag your luggage.

If your hotel has a private dock, then the hotel will call the water taxi for you.

It’s not necessary to book a water taxi in advance. There is a desk inside the airport before exiting where you go to pay and arrange. They will give you a slip of paper telling you which berth to go to.

Many thanks! Our hotel has a dock, so we are good. I forgot they can arrange water taxis (Duh, did that before:o) We'll follow your advice about the airport.

  9. We are a family of five arriving at the airport and needing to get to our hotel, then to the pier the next day. Clearly, the best way is via water taxi (Yep, I know what it costs), but here are my two remaining questions:

    1) Can you book a water taxi to pick up at the pier just west of the airport in advance?

If not, will there be taxis waiting?

    2) The next day when we leave the hotel, how close does the water taxi get to the terminal? (We are not big on dragging our luggage...)

Any assistance will be most appreciated!:D:D
