@kk20 Thanks for posting the martini bar menu! In a week (and a few hours) from now, I will be partaking in their offerings. 🙂
I also appreciate the review of Murano. We plan to hit Tuscan Grill, Murano, and the Lawn Club while on our cruise.
I've enjoyed your posts. Thanks!

@kk20Martini bar is one of our favorite place to visit. 😉
What's the average martini cost these days? Wondering if classic package covers most or if you're better off with the premium.
If you have a pic of the menu, that would be great!

Enjoying your review as we are on the Summit next Sunday, Have a fantastic time!

Thank you so much!
Looks like we may have to upgrade our classic package to premium. If we both have 2-3 martinis / day, which is not a hard thing to do on vacation, the upgrade will pay for itself.
(I was thinking about sticking to the classic and paying the difference, but just realized that I like sparkling wine with dinner, and that's not included in the classic package.)
Thanks again!

I'm also enjoying your review! We're on the July 16th to Bermuda, and I can't wait!
Thanks for posting the cocktail menu from sushi on 5.
If you manage to get to the martini bar, I would love to see a photo of their menu. ;-)

We agree that wine is a good reason. But there are other reasons...for example....I am a Cognac lover. And then there are the single malt scotches (another personal passion). In fact, one could go on and on about the higher end items that are not covered by the Classic Package. And then there is the Martini Bar (on S Class ships), the World Bar drinks, etc. Another Premium item is Pelligrino water....which we love to have every evening at dinner....and in our cabin.

I've been struggling with this, too. We are on the Summit next month and the classic package is included. Haven't cruised in 2 years and before, we could go to the Martini Bar and get martins that were part of our package, not even a thought about it. From what I've been reading on these boards recently, that may be a challenge. We each could do 2-4 martinis a day, easy, and we love to sit at that bar. I understand that we can now pay the difference in the drink price, but not sure that's the right direction to go. Still wondering if we should upgrade.

Ha!
I did ask if I could use the credit at the gift shop and that is the one place I CAN'T use it. (as well as towards the room and taxes)
I'll use it for drinks and maybe some appetizers before dinner. Perhaps a Mimosa (or 2) with my breakfast?!? ;-)

Thanks again for all your recommendations!
I'm all set for the Ritz Carlton, and with the $300 price tag, I not only got breakfast included for us, but a $100 resort credit to use there. I guess we'll be having some drinks and food there, although that wasn't my original thought.
I did mention that it's our honeymoon, and they said there's a good possibility for an upgrade.
Yay! Thanks again!

Thanks for all the replies! I really appreciate it.
We are arriving in Miami around 1-ish and have the rest of the afternoon and evening. Since we live on the NJ shore and are going on a Caribbean cruise, I doubt we'll spend any time on the beach or by the pool. I'd like to walk around a bit and take in the area.
BlueHerons: Yes, it's the Ritz Carlton for $300. It looks like a good location, too, so based on your recommendation, I'll book it!
Any other reqs for a great place for drinks and maybe another for dinner?
I've been all over trip advisor, but you seem to know the area well!
Thanks!

I've gone through the forums and I'm still wondering what folks would choose for a night in South Beach.
I want to surprise my new husband with a night (before our 13 night cruise) in South Beach. We'll be arriving around lunchtime in MIA, and I'd like to find a hotel that we can walk to restaurants and such and spend the afternoon.
Many to choose from: Mondrain, Wyndam, Ritz, Fountainebleau, etc. Prices are all around $300 (or so) for later this month.
As I'm not familiar with the area, I'd like to find something centrally located, but not where we'd be in the room at night, and hear outside partying.
I've read reviews on many sites, and all the hotels that I've mentioned seem to be OK.
Does anyone have 1st hand experience with any of the hotels I've mentioned that would be good for the start of our Honeymoon?
TIA!

I consider myself lucky. I booked the Summit about 2 months in advance, and managed to get 1140.
My fear is that I will love this section and won't be able to secure it again.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to do your review! I have read many reviews over the last few years, and none have been as well written and informative as yours. For those days when you were posting, I would look forward to logging on and reading your next installment.
I have been to Bermuda 3 times, and on my way for a 4th time in a little over 3 weeks. I'll also be in 1140! (First time in an AFT cabin.) Super excited about that!
Reading your review has made me even more excited!
Thanks again!

Now I'm even MORE excited to hear about your trip --we are in the same cabin in 5 weeks -- 1140!
I've never had an AFT cabin before. We always try to stay near the back of the ship, as we love the sunset bar, but now were are true AFT.

Also looking forward to your review!
We'll be in AQ in August.

Thanks to all that have posted on this subject! We're in 1140 for our cruise on the Summit to Bermuda in August, and I have really enjoyed reading all the positive remarks about the AFT cabins.
I can't wait!
