  1. We went by ourselves, it was a second wedding for both of us so we just wanted to keep it low key, we did have an amazing photographer and a lot of personal and DIY touches. My first wedding had 850 guests and I NEVERMIND would want that again lol, you look beautiful in your pictures. We managed 2 iPhone pics lol, I am so impatient, but I keep reminding myself that we just got back!

  2. Hey, we are wedding twins! We were married in St Thomas via the Carnival Sunshine on Dec 30th. Can't wait to get our photos so I can do a full review!

  3. And i'm so excited, so many big changes. This is marriage 2 for both of us. We have been together for 10 years, we are geographically challenged and have been content just to be together, however we are finally pulling the trigger and making this a forever thing! We found the perfect beach in St Thomas and some great coordinators, I have purchased 2 dresses and now trying to figure out how to smuggle my airbrush tanner on board so I don't look as pasty white as I really am. Even though it will just be the 2 of us, I hope to incorporate some diy elements into this and my obsessive love of paper straws. Thank you for all your ideas, thoughts and reviews. CC is a great support!:)

  4. Hi, i'm getting married in St. Thomas in Dec. I started off using Island Bliss, but I had major issues and ended up switching to Weddings the Island Way. These ladies have been AMAZING! Initially they looked to be more expensive, but I didn't factor in the wedding license which is included in their packages and the add on's I have gotten have been significantly less expensive and honestly the first email they sent me answered every question I had and had an excel spread sheet attached for my package and my add on's. They have been beyond nice and professional, never making me feel like my wedding was a burden or they were doing me a favor. I would certainly take a look around and find the best fit for you. Good Luck to you! :)

  5. I'm not sure yet, I bought 2 in case I wanted to do trash the dress pictures (they're identical) or I have a tragedy (I'm really OCD). I figure if we don't do that I will sell one of them and keep the one I got married in, I can't imagine reusing though because even at tea length it really looks like a wedding dress. Time to search Pintrest for some good ideas lol.....

  6. Hey guys and girls.

We're from Canada and will be on the Norweigan Jade (May 3rd - 10th) from Rome, through the Adriatic to Venice. We'll be flying into Paris, then stopping in 1 or 2 places on the way to Cinque Terre and finally to Rome for the cruise.

Where would you propose or where would you love your bf to propose to you at? I know timing is everything so I'll have to wait for the right feel and time but any ideas on where would be helpful! :-)

We only have an oceanview room so no balcony.

    Thanks!

My Fiancé proposed to me in the dining room of the Fascination, he had the maitre D help him coordinate, so he got him a microphone and back up music lol it was quite spectacular. I think the top of the Eiffel Tower would be pretty amazing too!!!!

  7. Hope your wedding day and cruise are everything you have dreamed of! Beautiful wishes for a lifetime of love and happiness!

PS As a former MU artist, it's good to bring your own make-up, the last thing you need or want is an allergic reaction! Tell her to make sure she has foundation and eye primer and LASHES they make all the difference.

  8. Well more is getting nailed down. Now it's just the invoice (we changed A LOT with the package). My personal record of everything was much more detailed then what she sent me when I asked. I think it's because to her not everything ask gotten the "is that your final answer" yet. She is vacationing so I'm hoping as soon as she comes back I will be getting more detailed attention. The wedding is three weeks away! I'm a planner and a half and I think our styles just don't sync well. I have high hopes and feel like she will deliver. I just can't be upset if it's not exactly what I was picturing. since it's not really a hands on way to a approach a wedding when you have it 1000 miles away.

Good Luck to you, I hope it all turns out great. I still can't get an email with full answers to my questions. I just laid it out to her in the nicest way I could muster, I'm really over this. I know I'm an OCD, control freak, but this is beyond ridiculous. I'm trying to balance my princess taste with what's in the spectrum of reasonable for a 10 minute, 2 person ceremony and I can't do that without the information. UGH I never saw this coming and I hope I'm just being overly nervous lol maybe she's busy making your day totally PERFECT! Lol I totally hope so!

  9. You know I really just thought it was me, but I can't seem to get a straight answer from her about anything, she always emails back, but seems to lack any answers. We are having a very simple 2 person ceremony, I booked her based on everyone's great reviews, but I'm not thrilled with the service. Our wedding should be super easy to plan, but I feel very blown off and forgotten!

  10. Dwayne, you are hilarious! I am enjoying your play by play more than you could imagine. My SI and I are getting married in St. Thomas Dec 30th 2014, and in a much similar situation. We have been together 10 years and its time to say I Do. We don't want to spend a lot of money, but I have princess taste LOL. Here's wishing you and your bride, great luck and fortune!

  11. Great to get info from those who have been there. My bride of 40+ years and I will be as elegant as we can be on those nights. Where are the best locations on the ship for portrait type photos? Is the ship photographer set up in just one place?

Hi, they have all the usual spots for photos, but our photos were hideous on our last cruise on the Legend. They have a fine portrait service called Dreams, Raquel is the photographer and she was wonderful (a real photographer) the photo shoot is free and you just buy the photos, Raquel will take you all over the ship and she does amazing pictures, if you have time check it out, it was a really fun experience. I attached some pictures that she took.

  12. I keep my cruise stuff together, so it makes packing less of a pain, things that I always keep in there are

Baggie of assorted OTC medicine-cold, stomach, sunburn/w solarcaine, sinus etc...

Over the door show rack- a MUST!

    power strip

    portable Ipod speakers

flip flops (when I cruise off season they are impossible to find)

    extra memory cards

    rum runners

    large thermal cups

    fabreeze

    downy wrinkle releaser

    duct tape

    a door stop

    ones and fives-gotta tip

    tampies-you never know

a sling bag or backpack for excursions

candy for the crew-who doesn't love a candybar

    a small sewing kit

    safety pins

a collapsible duffle-souvenirs (I print extra luggage tags too)

a folder (I use this for all the cruise docs then I save my fun times in them)

I am a huge overpacker, so I am never traveling light, but everyone knows where to go to get ANYTHING they may have left LOL. :D

  13. This is so sad, it's beyond explanation. What has happened to our world is beyond imagination. Common decency is not even a factor anymore. I'm so sorry that you have to experience this.

You should see how some TSA Officials "pat-down" my beautiful Service Dog.

And, now the terrorists are thinking of implanting explosive devices inside the intestines of humans and animals. What's next?????

Thats awful too, because every service dog I have seen acts better than most humans. I just felt so bad for my daughter she was 16 and had a tube in her nose and although she tries very hard to take the high rode people do stare and point and for them to go out of there way to make it a big deal really bothered her, its hard to watch your child hold back tears after 5 months of almost back to back hospitalizations and the cruise being the first vacation experience in a year. I understand the need for security, but it seems like common sense has been left in the dust. I hope both your vacations go wonderfully, some people forget how hard it is to travel with special needs, but boy do we need those vacations so much!

  14. We have been on 10 Carnival cruises with our son who is now 8-yo. We are preparing for #11 and I recently spoke with the special needs department. I was pleasantly surprised with the huge improvements that have been made, at least with this one particular woman. In the past I have always had to know what I needed, and asked specifically for those things. This call was SO much different. I called to ask about Camp Carnival age groupings. Before I got off the phone she had asked me if we needed assistance with getting on and/or off the ship, if we had any dietary needs, and if we needed accommodations for the muster. WOW!!!

Now that I have patted them on the back, there was one change I wanted to mention as its new to me. We bring my son's frozen chicken nuggets because he is VERY picky and won't eat much of anything on the ship, including Carnival's nuggets with the "green stuff" on them. We were instructed to bring a doctor's note in order to get them through security.

I had a great experience with the special needs dept (my daughter had a feeding tube so we had to bring the feeding formula and pump) with that being said, when I actually went thru check in CBP was HORRIBLE, seriously we had a note from her dr and an email from the special needs dept approving what she needed and I had one agent looking for a screwdriver to take the pump apart to "inspect" it and they had a huge issue with the 25 cans of formula, and had the nerve to ask me why she just didn't eat. Thank You CBP after 2 years of tests and specialists the gastric compression could be the issue. Its very hard when you deal with 2 different agencies. I hope your check in goes much smoother than our did.:)

  15. I believe with a destination wedding the rules are totally different, there are many people in my life that I would love to celebrate with and attend their showers, receptions and such, but attending the wedding would be problematic, I think as long as you extend the invitation and let them know the cruise is an open event you are well within the scope of good social graces. :)
