Can someone recommend a 4-5 star mid range price hotel stay for a precruise river cruise in October.
I am traveling with 2 older women in their 80s and i am concerned about the cobblestone streets and hills around the hotel area. we would like to be close to restaurants etc. We can take taxis elsewhere. Thank you

yes i was mistaken. room 232 is on the 2nd deck. i did not know that there are staff cabins below the room. i thought it was the engine.
thank you for all the help. i am booking ama waterways trip.

We are first time rivercruisers. My sister and I are taking my mother 80 and her friend 87. Which line would cater more to the elderly. I worry about all the walking and if they can manage it. Ama Stella has a french balcony for the elders with a elevator on the second level. The other room on Ama Stella is room 232 category C lower level above the engines. They are saying the engines are quiet on the new ship but anyone have that experience in those rear rooms?
Ama is a new ship and Grand Circle Aria is much older. We are foodies so that is a concern. Any recommendations? Thank you

Hello,
I am last minute in booking a trip in Oct 2016 river cruise down the danube. I am taking 2 women in the 80s. Choosing between Grand Circle Aria or Ama waterways Ship Stella. The Stella only has one room on the lower level category C rooms. The other room is upper floor with a elevator for the older women. Will we have a problem with engine noise? The Stella is a new ship while Grand circle is older. I am concerned with the women in their 80s and all the walking and accomodating their needs. Recommendations please. Which has better food also?

So Danish Viking, which one would you choose? The Square Hotel or the new Wake Up Hotel?
-
Harriet according to trip advisor it is not a hostel and you have your own bathroom in your room. You don't share bedrooms with anyone. Just thought someone might be personally familiar with the hotel.

One more question- Just found out Wake UP Borgergade has air conditioning. This hotel is rated 2 star which makes me uneasy since I usually stay in 3-4 star hotels. Wake up seems to be in a great area and easy access to metro for airport. I don't need the frills of a gym, phone etc, just CLEAN and comfortable bed for 1 night with someone at desk to answer questions.
Square Hotel is rated 3 star.
Does the 2 star system mean something else in Copenhagen that I should know?
Which hotel would you choose?

thank you for your help Danish Viking! Have a happy thanksgiving

Hi danish Viking,
Thank you for answering my post.
I just realized those hotels don't have air conditioning and we will be visting in july. I found the square hotel and the palace copenhagen have air. I like your idea of being close to metro and train station but i don't see any other hotels that are reasonably priced with air cond that fit the bill. Any preferences between the two hotels or others to consider that are preferred with air ?
Yes I will be coming from oceankaj, a assume you mean the ship's shuttle. Do you mean to tell me there is no other options such as buses for transporting from this port yet? bummer.

Please advise or recommend others. don't want to stay by airport. Also do buses run on weekends to hotels from cruise ports?

I am taking a cruise with Azamara Journey in Sept from Greenwich. Do they let you drop off your luggage and check in and then go back out with a tender and explore Greenwich since the ship does not leave until the middle of the night?
